  • Fantastic. Thanks for sharing.

  • @darrinpatey Thanks for giving it a listen :)

  • Fantastic. Thanks for sharing.

  • Brilliant song, first heard too.

    Addled Zen Ramblers rock!!!!

    : )

  • @BRACK3N Cheers Simon!

  • You guys are having all the fun! Great job here. Thumbs up. Sherrill

  • @sherrillwallace Thanks Sherrill.

  • very nice guys, allways a pleasure to hear you guys

  • @michaelnikosey57 Thanks Mike.....great to hear from you!

  • Go Johnny Go!! You guys have the best thing going on YT. Love the groups name! Peace Sherrill *****

  • @sherrillwallace The name was thought up by Gavin just for a laugh many many years ago :))

    Thanks Sherrill.

  • Darn, that sounds good. Just a beautifully sad ballad performed wonderfully. Not often that I enjoy a song so much as this. All the best, Karl

  • @karlmahlmann Yes I agree...it is very beautiful and sad..

    Thanks Karl.

  • Great stuff lads as usual. Keep it up! I'll have to get a wee run down again soon to upset the rhythm ;-)

  • @leoncyberbreath We're were just talking about how well your drumming would have sounded on this! It would be great if you could make it down again. Cheers Leon!

  • If it doesn't bomb, we'll get there somehow!

  • Dear God, your timing is spot on as usual. There I was getting wound up by some work nonsense (I work from home) when I get this from the boys! All angst disappears and I just feel great. My last ambition is to get to that house and make the tea for you three. By the way, my Orwell thing is on at Greenwich Theatre April 26-29. Free tickets if you can make it!!

  • @Pitsku I would love to see your Orwell production but I'm afraid that I don't do much travelling these days. Maybe it will come to Belfast? All the best for it anyway.

    Thanks Peter.

  • Lovely song, so well done! Thanks for sharing.

  • @downhill240 Yes I think that this song has a timeless quality to it.

    Thanks.

  • I love it when someone says,'You'll love this band' so you come over to listen and think ' They were right!

Great instrumental sound and a wonderful voice.

O.K. there's a bit of 'Last of the Summer Wine' here which makes you all the more watchable!

Thanks to my 'theloudhalo' frriend Helen for sharing.

Geoff (who wishes he had real mates to jam with.)

  • @geoff1945 haha I love the comparison to Last of the Summer Wine! Funny enough I just sat through two episodes of it last week whilst visiting my elderly mother :)

    Thanks Geoff.

  • @ljped - Glad you understood. I used to entertain at a local boat Museum and 3 volunteer engineers were always sitting together in the restaurant like old men do.

I'd play the theme tune softly on my harmonica and they'd raise a knowing smile and mumble something under their breath. I used play 'Johnny Todd' when policeman walked by but they are all too young nowadays! What does that say about me? I imagine young buskers break into 'One foot in the Grave' as I pass by now!

  • That is so good.

  • @sixstrings2650 Cheers Joe!

  • hi jack and the guys, what a cool posting. i like that the vocal is up front enough to actually hear the words and i very much enjoy the guitar breaks. you guys are tight together. must have done this before. this was a fun, fine, listen. peace and love, chuck.

  • @chuxtrux Yes we've been doing this song for ages. Nothing happens too quickly in AddledZenRamblerland :))

    Thanks Chuck.

  • From the very first Dylan album I do believe, great to hear it again and such a great version too. Greetings from USA. -Ron

  • @rhopen Yes you're correct about Dylan..........brings back teenage memories!

    Thanks Ron,

  • Great version Jack, fine singing and the band sounds tight. That is together, not drunk.

  • @inkkblot haha glad that you clarified that :))

    Thanks for the kind words.

  • I have vague memories of this song. It's lovely to hear your fantastic version of it.

  • @theloudhalo Thanks for giving it a listen Helen.

  • Brilliant song Jack. Could just as well be a Belfast song. Loves it! D.

  • @DamianNixon Yes I agree Damian........... this song transcends place or time!

    .

  • A tight performance from your band and sung excellently Jack. Beautiful tune this one. Hits me in the stomach as well as the ear, just the way I like a song to.

  • @CurtisMateer Yes it's one of those songs I never get tired of singing!

    Cheers Pete.

  • I used to listen to this song on one of paul simons albums. This is by far one of the most beautiful versions i 've heard...

thanx for stopping by on my channel jack!

  • @breedenburgh I remember that version. I think that Dylan and countless others did it too.

A great song never dies :)

    Thanks Louise.

  • @ljped Yeah, I thought of Dylan at first too, either his first album or a bootleg I've heard: Great White Wonder perhaps...I forgot Simon dod it too but now am reminded. Great song. Your sound on this is terrific too. Using new equipment?

  • @CurtisMateer Yes he did it on his first album apparently :)

No we've yet to learn how to use our new recording machine.........maybe the next one!

  • Yeah !

Thanks a lot Jack. Great job.

    Congfratulations

    Steph.

  • @Tsutsomu Cheers Steph..........thanks for listening.

  • That's what happens when ya get involved with chicks. Great performance! Nice instrumental breaks. I guess I'll see if the dead version is on youtube. I really enjoy you guys!

  • @dmio2 haha thanks Dan! The version that turned me on to the song was of the Dead playing live in Las Vegas just before Jerry passed away.

  • Wow! I think I just found me another subscription! Keep playin' boys!!

  • @downhill240 Cheers! Thanks for listening.

  • @rupertsteel Thanks Rupert. I'll look forward to plenty of videos from you this year :)

  • Lovely...top box as usual....really enjoyed it.

  • @xyzllii Thanks Kristine. I was showing the lads some of your videos last night and they were very impressed. If you wanted to send me a poem/lyrics that you would like us to put to music, we would be delighted.

  • @ljped That's a promise Jack....would be fun...!

  • Outstanding, me lads! So great to wake on a beautiful sunny and snowny morn to find a new one by you and the boys, Jack. The AZR ride again! ~ Mark

  • @manriq47 Cheers Mark. Funny enough we haven't had any snow this winter at all so far.......there's time yet!

  • Ah, a new one! What a great cover. Sounds even better than The Dead! I always love your souful performances. Y'all put so much of your heart into everything y'all do. It always boils down to an excellent listening experience. Another one I'm faving, hehe. :) Janet

  • @onewomanandsomesongs Thanks Janet. I think that this song originally started out in Ireland and then crossed over the Atlantic to America and now we've done it.....

  • Well done, guys! Really enjoyed it. You need to do a US tour..:)

  • @Parsnip361 Cheers Matt! It takes more and more effort to organise doing a video these days let alone a US tour...........nice idea though :))

  • Gerat tune,Jack. Nice to see the bpys again!...love the bass solo :)

    Larry

  • @23L Thanks Larry! I'll pass on your compliment to Gavin.

  • super Jack, great to see the be-hatted boys back doing it, and a great sound on this one.

    wonderful.

did someone steal your scratch-plate as a AZR souvenir?

  • @shelfdiscs Apparently that scratch-plate went for a huge amount on e-bay :))

    Cheers Chris!
