I'm glad Whitney didn't get the bashing that many other artists (who have had addiction problems) who die too young get. I'm glad that people chose to honor her greatness. I think the passing of Whitney really showed that even the people with the most resources, can't always defeat the evilness of drugs. We all know at least one person who has been defeated by drug use.

I'm glad Whitney didn't get the bashing that many other artists (who have had addiction problems) who die too young get. I'm glad that people chose to honor her greatness. I think the passing of Whitney really showed that even the people with the most resources, can't always defeat the evilness of drugs. We all know at least one person who has been defeated by drug use.

@kallie02301 I agree that they are honoring her greatness to a degree, but for the most part it seems like they are bashing her more than anything even in her death....Which I think is very unfair bc she was a good person regardless of her problems and an amazing singer..We all have flaws, we are human and so was she..But sorry to say whitney has been getting bashed for years now and its so sad they even in her death she still getting bashed..I wish people would let her rest in peace.

I wish I knew her personally. Watching her interview with Oprah, I got a glimpse of how amazing she was. It's rare to watch and interview and see someone's gentle heart, but you would clearly see it in that interview. RIP Whitney Houston. Much <3 always.

So for me to hear that the tradition of lowering the flag to half mast is "only reserved for government officials and soldiers" is kind of ridiculous. So why did they even bother lowering the flags to half mast after 9/11 when more ordinary, non-government/law enforcement/military, your every day hard working Joes and Janes that died in those two buildings? Oh because it was a national tragedy. Whitney Houston was New Jersey's state icon.
