Annie was a song written by Sisowath Serivuth in 1970's. He was a lead singer in the original Apsara Band. I went to Lycee Descartes with ANNIE K. She is biracial. She is now living in Paris. He was so in love with her. He put so much feelings into this song: ANNIE. I hope someone have the original song performed by Serivuth. Kamach the band member of the Apsara band also lives in Paris. The last time I met Annie in Paris was in 1972.
however i have 2 point out that this song was originally sung by sereyvuth. samouth picked it up after sereyvuth moved 2 france, sometime in the 2nd half of the 1960s.
sereyvuth was #1 in the guitar stream, samouth was #1 in the main stream
i have 2 point this out, even tho i like samouth more than sereyvuth.
btw, it became more popular when samouth sang it. not tryin' 2 put down sereyvuth, but that's the truth. the market 4 samouth was larger than that 4 sereyvuth.
tank Q tank Q, d'ohh!! yeah yeah i know a thing or 2 about cambodian oldies music.
but i must admit that i used 2 think i've heard all or at least almost all of samouth songs, then youtube proves me wrong. in youtube i've run in2 about ..., well well, forget the exact or even approximate number, bcoz havent recorded or counted, ok ok, let's say about a dozen, samouth songs that i've never heard b4.
so im guessing you don't like modern day music?? because i sure don't and doesn't my family. we always hear people try to sing songs that are meant to be "deep" but they are never as poetic as Mr. Sin Sisamouths' songs
i like some of modern female singers, but not as much as sothea . as 4 male singers, so far i've not yet run in2 1 that i like.
btw, samouth was & is the ultimate cambodian musical genius. at his time no1 could come close 2 him. eang nary appeared in 1974 or so & was goin' 2 inherit samouth throne. sadly 4 him, 17 apr 1975 arrived. as 4 modern male singers, of course no1 comes close 2 samouth. however if they sing his songs, that's good, bcoz then they appreciate him.
OMG!! this is one of my favorite Sinn Sisamuth song. thanks so much for posting it. i enjoy listening to khmer oldies and it's so nostalgic, reminds me of innocent days growing up. oh, how i miss it. anyways thanks again!!
beautiful voice. no one can ever sing like sinn sisamouth, his voice is divine. i heard another version of this song on youtube & it was horrible. didn't even finish the whole thing. then i saw your video & i was in heaven. thanks so much! i heard some people say that preap sovat voice is better than the legend. they must be tone deaf. that sovat dude sounds like he's trying to take a dump when he sings... btw do u have that song roob mouy jea vitt by sinn sisamout & a female singer?
