If you are referring to Rob Zombie's pathetic remake, released 2000-something, then THAT is the one who messed with the original format. Michael was 23 yrs old in 1978 and killed his sister in 1963. (Hence his reason for being committed) Rob Zombie had him as this huge long haired character who was about 14 before he killed anyone.
