Awesome band... I love metal, but I'm also a huge churchgoer. The fact that these guys are Christian doesn't determine how awesome I think they are, but I play in a church band as a drummer. I'd love to suggest a song from these guys to play in the band one day

My favorite thing about this band is that they profess God's love to the masses. Second, is their intricate songwriting, it takes a LONG time to get that good, and every single part is incredibly hard. They play in weird time signatures, speed up, slow down, amazing. By far one of the top 3 best bands I have ever heard in my entire life!

@greatshark6 catholicism, especially in the middle ages (i don't know much about modern catholicism) was completely different in nature than Christianity. there was never supposed to be a clergy, conversion is never supposed to be forced, and missionary work was never supposed to be synonymous with warfare. the acts and doctrines that the Catholic clergy backed at the time (the crusades, indulgences, etc) were directly contrary to the nature of what Jesus and the apostles taught.

He still often had to avoid open combat, since the European knights were like tanks. He used the desert itself to kill the crusaders of thirst, while harassing them with cavalry archers.

Think about it, how many belief systems have there been before christianity, islamism, hinduism and all the others we have today. How come the the greek gods are false but yours is not. And secondly where is the proof that he does exsist, A book? thats it ? How many books have been written in the history of mankind. And this book is the one that proves he existed?

@lambdacstrikesback The first (military) crusade actually went pretty well for the crusaders, but as later ones were based on greed (the Middle East had a lot of goodies) and the leaders became divided as they grabbed land and goods for themselves, it got a lot easier for a guy like Saladin to beat them. He still often had to avoid open combat, since the European knights were like tanks. He used the desert itself to kill the crusaders of thirst, while harassing them with cavalry archers.
