When the camera moves to the stands, that is proof that Beatlemania was unlike anything the world has ever seen and will never see anything like it again.
you can really tell the intensity of the screams from "twist and shout" and shea stadium.. like other songs from that I could understand a bit better, this one was really quiet =/
I always wondered what would've happened if, when they printed the tickets to be sold for their concerts, the Beatles had the printers put on them something like, "The Beatles kindly request that you scream BETWEEN the songs and not DURING. Thank you and kindest regards." I think they might've done the touring thing past 1966.
You know, even with ear pieces and all the technology that exists today, you would still be hard pressed to find an act that sounds as good live as these guys did.
Well, they certainly had plenty of practice, with the grueling hours they put in in Hamburg. They said later that that's what got them as good as they were. I wonder how many bands today would make it through that kind of crap, and being dirt poor and practically starving as the Beatles were then, too? I'm a musician and all I can say is that if there is an easier route to get there and still learn like they did, I hope I can find it and not go through all that!
Are you kidding? Id give both my balls, both my right eye and all my toes to go to a beatles concert and not be bale to hear anything. Its something you would remember forever and tell to your kids.
would there be a point? maybe for you, but not for everyone else who actually listens to the music, and doesn't fangirl all over the musicians themselves.
I met 3 people who saw The Beatles in concert,2 in 1966,& another in 1964,& she& he & she told me they could hear them &they were great.Former Kiss guitarist &producer of the heavy metal Beatles tribute album,Butchering The Beatles saw them in 1966& he said he could hear parts of them playing Baby's In Black&Paperback Writer & that they sounded amazing.A guy Steve from Canada on Artist Facts said he saw The Beatles in 66&The Stones in 96 he said The Stones were great, but The Beatles were The
He said but The Beatles were the greatest band ever! When he saw them in 66 the sound systems were very limited&primitive compared to when he saw The Stones in 96.George says in The Beatles Anthology that special 100 watt amps were made for their August 65 Shea show, before that they only had 30 watts! They had no feedback montitors then so they couldn't even hear themselves play&sing, but they amazingly managed to sing in sync &in tune with each other anyway!
getting something straight, I never said anything bad about The Beatles themselves, I love them. And agree, they were/are the greatest band in history.
Roger Daltry says in an online interview,Roger's Journey With The Who in The Sun,He was asked if The Who had screaming girls& he said it was the screaming era & that after they did Can't Explain they had screaming teen girls&that every band had them on their way up.He said it was fun but the trouble for a performer when you're that young&inexperienced you start to judge your performance by the amount they scream,he said it's nonsense which is why Lennon gave up.
A poster Reverend Rock who is a Reverend&a Rock musician & a big Beatles fan,he had a Beatles avatar on a Classic Rock site,&he recently joined The Beatles Links forum, posted on a classic rock site a few years ago, that anyone who knows The Beatles history knows it's ludicrious to even suggest that they were ever a "boyband"! They were always a *TRUE GREAT ROCK BAND*! As a musician said on another site, watch The Beatles Anthology &learn how immensely talented this band really was!
In Hunter Davies great only 1968 authorized Beatles biography,he says doctors testified that girls had orgasams at their concerts. Not only did they write tons of great *rock* songs even in their early days like John's You Can't Do That,&Paul's I'm Down & She's A Woman etc,& John & Paul wrote 1 of The Rolling Stones first hits,I WAnna Be You're Man in late 1963,but there are music scholars&award winning music professors who teach& Have written books about them.
Like university of Penn graduate musiciologist AlanW.Pollack's online extensive 11 year series called,Notes On (every Beatles song),& University of Michigan music professor&musician Walter Everett's 2 volume books,The Beatles As Musicians,& award winning music professor& composer Dr.Glen Gass at University Of Indiana School Of Music teaching a Beatles&Rock music course since 1982,& Dr.Gary Kendal's Beatles course is the most requested at North Western University etc.
Also there was the British music scholar&composer professor Wilfred Mellers who was at Cambridge & he wrote the first serious music Beatles analysis,Twilight Of The Gods:The Music Of The Beatles, not to mention a ton of popular respected rock artists that stil call them great &many say the greatest band ever. And look up the excellent All Music Guide's Beatles biography too.
As much as I love these guys, it's funny to watch the anthology and see that Paul's live song intros never changed. You'd think he would have gotten more comfortable or accustomed to the shrieking after a couple of years. Anyway, it's all part of their magic.
Si la reencarnación existiera me encantaría nacer en los 50's para ser una laca adolescente en los 60's y disfrutar de la banda más orgásmica de todos los tiempos
My eldest sister was there at the concert, with a classmate she HATED! I remember my mother was terrified that my sister would be trampled to death, saying "Hold her hand and never let go!" We woke up early (all five siblings) the next morning, sitting outside her room, waiting for to wake up so we could hear every excruciating detail of the concert!
Those girls aren't the swiftest are they? "Maybe if I scream really loud and wave, they'll see me!" Fat chance, have they even seen the crowd around them?

Fabulous video!!! Many, many thanks for sharing.
a fact that is rarely mentioned is that that last concert was only 35 minutes long! all those people, all that preparation, them being flown in by helicopter, all for a mere 35 minutes! amazing
Could you imagine if the Beatles were to, oh say, take their shirts off at that concert? The girls were in an absolute frenzy as it was. They were absolutely delirious. If they were to all remove their shirts, I swear all the girls would probably have dropped dead or something. It's just unbelievable how idolized they were. It's no wonder John made the remark about being bigger than God after looking at this audience.
It just wasn't the 60s thing to do, I guess. Nowadays it would probably be different. (That's not to say Paul should strip off his shirt at age 66, but you know what I mean!)

No crowd surfing for those guys- it'd be like dropping a cow into a piranha tank.

a fact that is rarely mentioned is that that last concert was only 35 minutes long! all those people, all that preparation, them being flown in by helicopter, all for a mere 35 minutes!

OMGOSH, that would've been a total hot and sexy OVERLOAD!!!! I would pay good money to see that and then faint in the process!
*sigh*...too bad it never happened.

It just wasn't the 60s thing to do, I guess. Nowadays it would probably be different. (That's not to say Paul should strip off his shirt at age 66, but you know what I mean!)

LOL! In Paul's current state, that is definitely better left undone.
But seriously, had they done that back then, my head would've exploded!

GAWD, Paul and John look good enuff to eat, don't they! I was only 10 years old, no, scratch that, not EVEN 10 yet. Two months away from 10 then.

LOL I think that would've produced fainting spells EN MASSE in the audience!
