There's nothing more awesome -to me anyways- than a beige interior, with leather seats ...it's kind of more relaxing, from a visual point of view; grey is so sad ! (only my opinion) . As I finish my studies and have enough money, I'll get one of these; I don't care about the 2005, 2011 and all the versions that may come out later ...The only thing that is negative about these is the reliability of the engines they were equiped with (from what I've heard anyways...)
Many of the people that I know disagree with me, but I really think that the 1999 and 2003 versions of the Jeep Grand Cherokee (which are almost exactly the same, in reality...) are the BEST to me, especially from a visual/esthetic point of view ! I was disappointed when the 2005 version came out; talkin' both about the outside AND more especially the inside...As for the latest version, from 2011 : no comment ! The 1999 or 2003 versions were more...authentic ! Still can't afford one ! <:-(
we have the same one almost just a little differant shade in the paint and for the 4x4 we have the 4 part time and 4 full time and ofcorse 2x4 and ours has about a 100 more miles
Although the limiteds are nicer the grill on the 1999 laredos look alot better. I think they fixed that in like 2003 though. My brother bought a 1999 laredo but it had every option on it including the leathers, infinity gould and dual power seats. Very strange, it was practically an unlimited but in laredo trim.
I'm not gonna lie to you. I don't like the way it sounds.(the engine)
I test drove a V8 Grand Cherokee today that had 144,XXX miles and it didn't sound, "vrooom......VROOOOM." *hiss", actually it sounded WAY better. More like...."BRUUUUMMM *snarl* *chew* *devour*. Which was quite amazing. The engine turned the whole car over every time I revved it. *revs the engine*......*car flips over*. =] I love all Cherokee's in general though!
@DynastyPercussion stock intake baffles make the sound. I swapped mine out for a K&N FIPK and its more deep now (especially with the borla exhaust kit).
I love how the Jeep's power seats make that buzzing sound when you move it. You could make some music with the various sounds it makes in the Jeep. lol
How come you don't never tell in a suv's case whether it is 4WD or not? That would be very nice. I'm a big 4x4 fan and i see the controls for the 4WD system on some of them when you are doing videos.
@saabkyle04 Hey In A Few Months Im Turning 16 And Im Getting A Car,from My Parnets My Speding Limit is $3500 Would You Suggest A Jeep GC 2002 W/ About 120K Highway Miles? I Find Them On Craiglist Preety Cheap And My Sis Has One and I Love It!! And Love Driving Hers...
the 4.7 is probably one of the coolest engines ever made. That great V8 rumble combined with the whine of the engine (sounds like it's supercharged) is just so awesome.
@4wheeler14 I've been a gear head for a while, have my own shop, and your right, that thing combined with the wind does make it sound like it is supercheged. You know what you're talking about! Wish he would've given more details on the 4WD system. I love 4WD. Can't go without it.
@kendrickevans301 Thanks. I recently purchased a 2004 Grand Cherokee Overland with the 4.7L H.O. I love to drive it. When you get on it, the combination of the whine of the engine and rumble of the exhaust is heavenly music. It's a powerful, efficient, and reliable engine. Currently I get 14.8 MPG. Not bad for an older V8. It has so much power on the top end, yet so much torque too. Plan to add a Flowmaster next week
@4wheeler14 yeah the Overhead cam V8 engines are great. Shame chrysler didn't stick with them like ford did cause it really payed off for ford especially the new 5.0.
My 99 laredo is in WAYYY better condition lol and its not a "base model" thank you very much! Ahahah well mine isnt. It has limited options. I have the inline six its a great engine but this is a nice car. Jeeps always are
@matthebest018 When u c water which is acctually raw (not burnt) fuel coming from the exaust, that is acctually good. I've been in this industry for a long time!
@pauli4975 I've been a gear head for a long time have my own shop, and the 5.9 motor made by chrysler (dodge, chysler, and jeep) period is very big obviously, but lacked in power too unfortunetly. They replaced it with the 5.7 litler HEMI V8 in 2004, Bigger isn't always better. But I do like that engine thow, don't get me wrong. But the 4.7 liter V8 has 25 more horsepower than the 5.9.
The base model is called the Laredo. Yeah, we had an '02 Laredo that had the plush leather seats, much like the '99 you got in. The '05 G.C. we have, the leather seats are rock hard.
i was gonna say about what happened to your thumb... i thought you had gotten in a fight with a bottle of nail polish or you slammed it really hard in a door jamb! good thing you told us why your nail is black!
do you know were I could get some of the factory infiniti gold speakers? I have a 03 grand cherokee and I need 2 read 5 in and something rear woofer speakers
Very nice Jeep. Can't wait for the other Jeep to rev up like that, like it once use too. (Maybe you should make a video of the two Jeeps once the 2000 is all fixed up.) 5 Stars!!!
yeah It would be nice if I was around to see it, but someone might buy it the way it is and put a brand new motor in it! At least it has a possibility of going to a good home!
