Yes, Welker got better numbers, but I think it got to do with the type of offense he plays in and he also got Randy Moss to take pressure off him. Welker is a tough little reciever but Curtis isn't that type of reciever.

I think he would play much better in the slot if there was a great outside WR, like Anquan Boldin. If there was coverage on Jackson and Boldin, Curtis would be open almost every time!
He is a solid #2 or slot WR. He is explosive, it's just that they can't expect him to be a possession WR who will convert a 3rd or 4th down. That's why Boldin would be great. His prescence will allow the other WRs to play to their strengths, which are speed and big plays. Next year Eagles face AFC West. Asomugha, Cromartie, and Champ could easily stop Curtis, but he can burn the #2 CB for each team. If nothing else, a #1WR would at least draw double coverage, leaving another WR wide open

Im pretty sure curtis recorded a 4.21 at some point and its possible, darren mcfadden did it at the nfl combine. im sure olympic sprinters could put up some beastly times. Anyways, a 40 is more of a measure of how a players accelerates, not necessarily top-end speed.
Kevin Curtis is beastly. People can say whatever they want about the Eagles WR, but if they got someone like Fitzgerald or Randy Moss, or Chad Johnson, Curtis would put up bigger numbers than Wes Welker did in NE last year. I think Curtis is a MUCH better receiver than Welker. Welker benefited greatly from having Moss draw attention.
I think Feely is one of the most underrated backups in the nfl. I wish the chargers still had him. I think Chicago should go after him, hes better than anything they have.
I gotta agree with a lot of the people on here saying that Curtis is underrated. Hopefully, he will be recognized after this season as 2007 was his break-through-year. I saw the Eagles in week 2 of the pre-season and Curtis is still lookin good. It looks like him and McNabb has good communication. Curtis is defenitely in the top 15 at WR.
PS: Eagles got another little speedster in DeShaun Jackson. Eagles got one of the fastest WR-combos in the league at the moment if you ask me.

Your right Kevin Curtis is a good player but he is not a great player. YET. I think that he knows he needs to get bigger and he probably did hit the weight room. Reggie Brown could use some time in their as well because they are always brought down by the first person that touches them. Kevin Curtis is beastly. People can say whatever they want about the Eagles WR, but if they got someone like Fitzgerald or Randy Moss, or Chad Johnson, Curtis would put up bigger numbers than Wes Welker did in NE last year. I think Curtis is a MUCH better receiver than Welker. Welker benefited greatly from having Moss draw attention.

I think Feely is one of the most underrated backups in the nfl. I wish the chargers still had him. I think Chicago should go after him, hes better than anything they have.

I gotta agree with a lot of the people on here saying that Curtis is underrated. Hopefully, he will be recognized after this season as 2007 was his break-through-year. I saw the Eagles in week 2 of the pre-season and Curtis is still lookin good. It looks like him and McNabb has good communication. Curtis is defenitely in the top 15 at WR.
PS: Eagles got another little speedster in DeShaun Jackson. Eagles got one of the fastest WR-combos in the league at the moment if you ask me.

He definatley is underrated... its a shame:( anyway I think next year is his break through. I predict about 75 catches 1200 yards and 14 td's, we get to championship at minimum and he gets pro bowl votes and is #2 receiver in it with Fitzgerald on the other end

i think kevin curtis doesnt get enough respect for his abilities. personally im very happy with kevin as our wideout. at least hes hella much more consistent than brown. he jus doesnt seem to get the credit he deserves

I could'nt agree with this statement, more. Kevin has to be one of the best underrated people. And I see soo much determination in him. He's going to succeed. And this will be a big year for the Eagles, with him being part of that group that makes the eagles have a miraculous turn around.

Your right Kevin Curtis is a good player but he is not a great player. YET. I think that he knows he needs to get bigger and he probably did hit the weight room. Reggie Brown could use some time in their as well because they are always brought down by the first person that touches them. These two could be a couple of great receivers if they could make a couple of people miss after the catch.

I don't understand the knock on him... ok he's not the biggest guy... but so are Steve Smith and Santana Moss ... I think critics won't be happy until we get a 6-6, 4.20, 350lbs bench press, 230lbs with a perfect wonderlic receiver... geez like that's possible...

I agree with you 100%. He's underated because of his size but he's also one of the fastest guys in the league. The game he had against Detroit last year speaks for itself. GO BIRDS!

whats funny is that curtis has the best wonderlic score among active players with 48/50 correct. he also ran a 4.21 but doesnt quite fit those other standards

It's not like we changed the philosophy just for him like we did with Owens and it's not like he just ran streaks like Stallworth! he definitely should be the #1 WR, can't call him the "BEST EVER", but I love how smooth he is catchin over his shoulder, and yes, he's extremely underrated, just watch the lions game in week 3
