Not only did we provide some balloons and costumes during the shooting of this commercial-we granted them access to tape the opening scenes you see that were taken from parade day 2007. According to the Wikipedia article about Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Charlie Brown balloon originally chased an elusive football during the same parade. Also, I saw an image in the same article showing the Underdog balloon, which looks slightly different compared to the one in the commercial.

you do realize that macys' doesn't actually make balloons? they just produce and sponsor a parade with NBC and sell spots in the float line, i.e. advertising. stay in school.

No. These balloons were not made by Macy's. They were made by Starbound Entertainment. They just stuck in Macy's balloon to use as referene. Macy's had nothing to do with this ad. Just Starbound.
