That rifle is insane. Not a single shooter in this video could control it. It's not a match for your average shooter, whereas a 6 year old can fire a .50 BMG Barrett with ease.

@APPLEPIE978 at 10,180 foot-pounds force muzzle, I can see elephant stoppage with ease. But I'd pass on the T-Rex. I'd go to Barrett as have a custom Model 82A1 made in a short barrel for quick shoulder draw. Might take the energy down from 15,000 lbs to 12,000 lbs, but will be efficient for 1 shot 1 kill elephant load in a 'barely there' recoil system.

@RacerXGTO Yeap.. anyone can shoot a 30 pound rifle with a clam shell muzzle brake.. However the rifle, in the video you see here -- unlike the 50BMG barrett, was made to carry and shoot off-hand at charging dangerous game.. Did you notice the lack of a muzzle brake? muzzle brakes are good for the gun range, but when hunting they will bust your ear-drums.. you are comparing apples and oranges..

@RacerXGTO and you'd have a cartridge thats much too long for the application.. Therefore you'd have an overly long action and bolt-throw & extra weight. The cartridge would contain much more powder than needed for the barrel length, and you could achieve much weight savings in metal mass by using a smaller diameter cartridge with a shorter powder column for the much shorter barrel.. Step that bullet up to 58 caliber, and you'd probably end up with a rifle similar to what you see here..
