this was one of the first west coast swing videos i'd ever seen but i quickly went on to watch others. then, i rewatched this and i realized how really awesome that synchronized split/body roll thing was. what puzzled me was that all the leads in the background were acting as though it was normal and then i realized, with benji it probably was pretty ordinary.
Replied to Kennywaye regarding the name of the second song. It is definitely Lonnie Gordon "Bad Mood" and it is on the "Looking Through Time" CD, the second track. Love it and this couple!!!
everybody says it's bad mood but it's simply not to be found anywhere. Does anybody know what version it is? I mean is it really lonnie gordon? or on what cd it is. Thanks
@greg3511 . I know Marc...he's, what's the word I want...partnering Sharlot Bott. I didn't recognize him in the video. I'll have to look closer. Thanks for the answer.
He's probably the only who can take attention away from Tatiana.
Usually when I watch her dance with ANYONE else I have to make a conscious effort to keep some attention on her partner because she's so much fun to watch. (this is excluding certain moves that her partners do when they're in the spotlight, though)
hi, do anybody know what is the second song? it's perfect.. especially moment 2:56 - 2:59 ... she's cool... when legs and hips moves to him and top of her body is like statue...awsome

I'm sorry but, while they are awesome at moving their bodies and they are fantastic together I just could not see any connection with the music, at allll. It's like they have music on in the background but completely ignore it and just do what they want. I am definitely not listening to the music with my eyes.
The connection with the music is extremely clear. These are two of the best west coast swing dancers out there, and they know what they're doing. Try watching again.

Are you serious? The rhythm of the music is quck quick slow and they are dancing all over the place. Their feet hardly ever land on a beat!
The second song is better, but the first one is just off. And the third song, where everyone is improvising is right on.
I'm not saying that they aren't great, but the connection with the music (especially on the first song) just isn't what it could be, especially from them.

I don't understand. If you decide to step quick quick slow and the song is also playing quick quick slow, why wouldn't you sync your quick quick slow with the quick quick slow in the music? Doesn't make sense.
Whatever instrument you dance to, they all stay in tempo. All of the musicians play in response to a set timing, whatever rhythm they play. Why shouldn't the dancer dance in response to that same timing? Isn't the dancer a visual expression of the music?
She is one of kind .. in all my years 35 off tv production I've never seen anyone read and the dance the music arrangement such as she ... you really .....
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.

I am serious. There is more than one way to follow a song— percussion isn't the only part of the music. Also the entire thing was improvised.
