Karla, Gracie is rather speechless with Corkie performing! Usually, you can't compete with a 'Zon, they are so chatty!Corkie even uses Gracie's name which is
It's sweet thay can be in the Aviary together.darling.
I play one of Corkie's clips a couple times a week for 'Homer', my YCM. He loves to interact with Corky, 'Full Screen' mode !
@elli864 I don't know how your comment passed me by! I am so very sorry I didn't respond. Not only does Corkie use Gracie's name, Gracie says to Corkie, when she's bothering her, "Corkie! Quit it!"
Thank you for your comment. I enjoyed it very much.
@elli864 When my friend Ted, who gave me Corkie after the person who dropped Gracie and her off to be babysat never paid or came to pick them up for four years, first started babysitting Corkie, she repeatedly went through her "Super Birdie" routine at the top of her lungs. I'd tell her to use her indoor, say the phrase softly then cover her up. (The first time I did, she went down to the bottom where there was a peep hole and said, "I'll be goo!") Continued.
@OnePickieChickie After softly saying the phrase and covering her up for ten minutes after each violation, she would not make a peep for two days then suddenly said, in her indoor voice and very softly, "Doot! Doot! Doot! Doot! It's Corkie! Super Birdie!"
@OnePickieChickie That's hilarious Karla! I think our birds often 'get us' and understand much more than we give them credit for.
I often think I'd like to find another YCM for Homer. I know they might not hit it off, but at one time he was housed with his sister who passed. He seems to get very animated when I show him videos of Corkie and she's vocalizing.
@elli864 I'm glad Homer is enjoying Corkie's videos. There is a playlist for Avis The Blue Crown Conure who talks and is a nut. See what happens when you play those for him, especialy the one where Avis is taking a bath and talking.
Awesome - I have GOOBER DA BIRD and have had him 24 years since he was just weened. He says some amazing things and I hope to post some videos but he's super camera shy. His favorite is MOMMA WHATDYA DOING, DA**MIT COME HERE! Unfortunately my dad taught him how to cuss. (laugh) He never hesitates to say, BYE BYE MOMMA GOOBER SAYS BYE BYE! when he wants alone time. Pretty hilarious. Thanks for this. Love our birds! All the best to you.
Thank you for sharing. Try covering up the blinking red light with a piece of electrical tape. They don't like the flashing red light. What breed is Goober?
Ahh - perfect! I'll try that! He's also a yellow collared macaw - I love them so much. He's hilarious, dances, carries on all day. Sometimes when trying to work from home it's a challenge (laugh) "HEY, WHATTYA DOIN - MOMMA - SHUT UP - YOU COME HERE" then sings at the top of his lungs "YAA HAAA" and watches cartoons and now talks like one of the Tele Tubbies - oh my - what a character. When I have a business call, it's a challenge - I usually talk outside! ha. My baby. Thanks for writing!
Corkie hollars "Doot! Doot! Doot! Doot! Doot! It's Corkie! Super Birdie!" at the top of her lungs but I've taught her to use her indoor voice. The first time I covered her up for being so loud, she went to the bottom of the cage where she could peek out and said, "I'll be good!" That is the one and only time she did that!
I just had to give mine up because I had to move out of my house because of my owners, so I had to move to a town house in a rental community so I didn't have to worry about that happening again but she was very loud and I didn't want to get kicked out of here too, but atleast I can go see her at the zoo.
I'm so sorry to hear about your situation! I'm sure you'll miss Chloe a lot! I miss Corkie. She lives at Birds of Paradise in Paradise and I don't get to see her as much as I'd like too! I grew very attached to her when I was staying with my friend!
If you feel down, just watch my Dancing Frostie videos and you'll fell better! He's a crackup!
The only two birds which are mine are Frostie and Avis. The other birds live at Birds of Paradise, a professional baby-sitting, rescue and breeding facility. I sing with Corkie. There is a video called Corkie Singing With Karla or something like that! I'll send it to you.
I'm sorry I didn't reply until now! I just noticed your comment because someone else just commented on it! Check out my channel now! I have tons of videos!
thnx :)

@OnePickieChickie - No worries at all Karla!
I'll bet you have lots to do and I really don't expect a reply to my comments.
Still thrilled to hear Corkie say, "Hi Gracie! Doot! Doot! Doot! and Super Birdie Corkie!"
(As is my YCM.)
So cute about Gracie's admonishment to naughty Corkie!
