always loved this tune, though I think i prefer the version of it with the "Enough is Enough" quotes. damn I miss owen. If he'd lived, and the powers that be had wisened up, we could've had Owen Hart in the big time instead of some of today's lame asses.
I heard that Owen was supposed to have Triple H's "The Game", gimmick had he not passed away. It sucks that Owen is gone and we have guys that suck like john cena or the miz as Champion.
@carlinrulez666 what really sucks about the modern guys is that some (like The Miz or Jack Swagger) have the talent to actually be great some day, but they've already been pushed to the top. I was running the numbers the other day, and it took HBK 8 years before he got the WWF title (granted he had gotten at least one shot by his 7th year), whereas Randy Orton took 2 years, Cena took 3, The Miz took 4, and Jack Swagger only took 2 years (not counting the ECW title which took him 4 months)
Swagger has talent, and so does Orton. the miz has some talent, but they shouldn't have put the WWE Title on him. Reality tv stars shouldn't be World Champion. The WWE put the WHC on Orton back in 2004, because they were pissed that Brock Lesnar left the WWE, so they made Orton the youngest World Champion in WWE history. The ECW Title that Swagger won hasn't been recognized as a World Title since 2001 when ECW went out of business.
@carlinrulez666 them giving Orton the title to spite Lesnar makes some sense, but it still wasn't a good move. Orton definitely has the talent, and IMO he's right at the point now where he should be getting his World Title status... unfortunately, he was prematurely pushed to that point in '04. I think the Miz has talent (more so than some others who are at the top), but right now I feel like he's about where Edge was back in 01-02.
I am a fan of Orton, but I also thought he got the title a year too soon. On top of that, they put him over Benoit, a much more talented wrestler. Orton is already a recognized World Champion since 2004. I like Swagger, because he is good technically, and he has wrestled since he was 5. Before, a wrestler had to be over with the fans to put the belt on him. Now, they put the belt on a wrestler, to try to get him over. the miz is a mile away where Edge was in 2001-2002.
@carlinrulez666 to clarify, I didn't mean talent-wise Miz is around 01-02 Edge, more his appropriate push level. At that point Edge was still at midcard status, but pushing the top of the midcarders. Honestly, I don't think Miz is really good enough to actually be at that level yet, but seeing the other people on the roster who are even less talented than he, that's where I'd rank him in the company. Swagger is great, but they pushed him without getting him over, and now it's hurting him.
I like Swagger. I thought he deserved the WHC since he is a legit wrestler, not to mention he was wrestling since he was 5. That is great for someone who has a dream, even better if you have a dream before you even start the first grade. Swagger deserved it for that, at least. It is a shame that he isn't over with most of the fans. I am a fan of legit wrestling. Now, putting the belt on dolph ziggler is stupid, and proof that they now put belts on guys to try to get them over.
@carlinrulez666 I agree about Swagger's talent and devotion, and you're definitely right that they see putting a belt on someone as a way of getting them over. They seem to have forgotten that the title is the prize, and you get there by getting over and getting a push. Now they show that the prize is the push and the belt is the method of earning the push. Sad, because so many get the belt without being over and are resented for it, or just become laughing stocks.
I have 1998 fully loaded ppv where owen hartvs shamrock in a submission match in stu hart's duegeon in calgary, canada where he puts shamrock head through the ceiling of dugeon.
