  • @CountVonBrink..I train under Walt Missingham and had trained under Dan....read what Paula said about him

  • RIP jerry......my wishes go to the family.... Bruce and ted will be waiting at the gates .....

  • I am saying that like James Demille...he makes a lot more of his brief associating with Bruce than he is entitled to.

Thats the view of Paula Inosanto and probably Dan as well

  • @thesuperduperbloke Paula used to call him uncle, and Jerry trained with Bruce in class and at Bruces house. Jerry also taught at Dan's school. How does what you say make sense?

  • He rained with Bruce for 8 months and infrequently at that according to Paula Inosanto...JKD master my arse

  • @thesuperduperbloke

I dont know this huy but what u are saying that after he had trained with Bruce Lee he have trained at all? Is it 30 years since BL was killed? This old guy should if he continue training learned something :-)

  • Your tie is crooked -_-

  • why do you scream?

  • Radencruz, how did you know Bruce was dead that way? Fucking search in the Internet he's was dead in his house, he didn't fight no one that time. Jkd is combine of 28 diff martcial art and skills, in Clud karate, tai kwon do. Western boxing, kick boxing, Maui Thai, wing chun and shao Lin Kung Fu, it also have wrestle moves, theres no best martial art in the world all people have two legs and two arms, the key is with in the person I learn that Bruce lee's quote, there's secret behind jkd, did y

  • lol the interviewers name is elie

  • He looks like Bruce lee

  • Elie what's with the suit and local abc look lol

  • Wait.. Are they the same age?

  • wow bruce lee is truly amazing no one can compare to him he was an amazing man and undoubtely would be undefeated i do not know why anybody would compare him to kobe bryant the world has lost the best of the best bruce lee may he rest in peace

  • i come to this video looking for some wise words from bruce lee or something hell of taught this guy and this gay reporter wants to know about books wow

  • Taekwondo IS more of a sport art but it does not change the fact that the discipline is as important then any other martial art

  • dang mad props to this guy =)

  • so he survived BECAUSE of jeet kune do ? post hoc, ergo propter hoc

  • And I thought Prince Charles had big ears.

  • Water is truly powerful. As a puddle (like the average street fighter) it's weak and soppy, now a tidal wave, well that's truly something...

  • Seriously???? You are comparing Bruce Lee to Kobe Bryant....NOT EVEN!!! That is friggin sacrilegious. He doesn't begin to have the integrity, patience, and spirituality that Bruce Lee had...dude it is attitude and heart. Good luck with that!

  • @jakesterhawaii Be cautious against making assumptions.

  • @jakesterhawaii

    Right

  • your husban survived liver transplant because of god not because of jeet kune do jeet kune do may hvae keeped him in shape but his own survivley was beacause of god

  • @12344richard Or it could have been luck and good doctors....

  • @12344richard don't bring religion into martial arts

  • @12344richard I do agree that everything is in God`s control.

  • he shouldn't smile, unicorns, fairies, leprechauns and rainbows die when he smiles

  • @ESNEWS ... Elie Seckbach PLEASE go and LEARN ENGLISH!. Your speaking SUCKS!

  • Jeet kune Do is a style of kung fu that bruce lee created, it gives u great mobility, defense, n offesive strikes that u cant block, dont ask y u cant block, u have to learn jeet kune do to find out y 4 yourself

  • He has to get rid of that dildo he holds, and buy a real microphone.

  • JKD is not a martial art, it is a philosophy which some ones brings to there own individual being to help them progress, see truth and be better.

  • Bruce Lee did not want JKD to be a style, as soon as they copy and copy then it is a style, JKD was a philosphy man. Bruce wanted to show techniques and methods, he did not want people to turn his philosophy into a style, Bruce wanted people to learn what fitted them.

  • 4:00 typo.... -_-

  • its funny that now this guys is 74 and bruce lee is 70

  • Jerry Poteet taught my master.

  • he was from Manswers!!!

  • he learned from the best of his time bruce lee and bruce learned from the best of his time yip man

  • WHY ARE YOU SCREAMIN IN THE MIC?!?!?!

  • jeetkun do still exists?

  • @Rassoul44 it is not going away...

  • She must've been to the wrong taekwondo place. Alot of people do it for sport, but the way it is to be taught is the traditional way of self defense. It was the key to get rid of the Japanese from Korea

  • @codinthexbox FUnny thing about kicking the japs out of korea is that after the fact and then the seperation of NORTH and SOUTH, many koreans say they were better off with the Japs.

  • @jiggahippo WHAT?? My family is Korean and they said the Japanese were dictators. no rights. they had to hide their training as farming techniques

  • @codinthexbox Gen Choi stated this in an interview. In it he stated that AFTER the korean war and the seperation of North and South food was hard to come by and crime was rampid with no law to help. During the Jap they had food and police and were able to live life in peace so long as you did not show disrespect. I personal think if the Soviet and chinese keep out we all would be better off is Korea was united.

  • @jiggahippo oh your talking about the Korean war. I'm talking about before B.C. and early A.D. funny how Japanese people keep trying to invade Korea. But from my info the Korean war was about the North Koreans wanting to take over South into one nation. But North Koreans even today still hate Southern Koreans.

  • @codinthexbox Yea, well, we are all invaders and invaded from time to time thats just the world of humans. The best we can do is be our best to our freinds and family and let the chips lay were they fall.

  • @jiggahippo But I could be wrong

  • @jiggahippo really? I have been married to a Korean for 32 years, and I never heard anything good about the Japanese in Korea.I suspect you are full of shit.

  • @Calimantalkin if u werent such an ignorant ass and read ALL of the messages I wrote you would see that I was simply stating what Gen Choi said in an interview. But then again one cannot expect too much from people like you. Just because your married to a Korean does not mean you know anything of our plite!

  • @jiggahippo sorry, your rants are not as important to me as they seem to be to you, I only needed to read one comment to see that you were a douche.

  • @Calimantalkin Yes, I can see that UR the douche. Only a douche, such as urself, would base an opinion on limited facts.

  • @jiggahippo fail...

  • @Calimantalkin fail? thats it? Yes ur a dumb ass douch to boot! with a very limited vocabulary! lmao... leave me alone. end!

  • Anyone else thinks this guys looks like a really old version of Tony Horton from P90X?

  • The reporter actually sounds as he's taking the piss and laughing - what a cunt!

  • the guy looks well educated and mannered i wonder if that is a result of bruce lee training ... if its ... thats just amazing

  • he have scary eyes

  • horrible reporter

  • lucky ass guy

  • he only trained with bruce lee for 8 weeks

  • HAHAHAHAHAHA @ 3:14 "the power of Jeet koong go"

  • Bruce lee was the greatest LEGEND

  • you guys know the retarded policeman?

    :|

  • bruce lee was a troll.

  • wow he hit u in the face with a peace of wood? That is helarious!

  • This is a Fraud there is no such thing of a style called Jeet Kune Do IT'S A PHILOSOPHY besides at the beginning of the video he was demostrating ESCRIMA (philippines martial art)

  • @Ahmose1500BC If you know it's a philosophy then you should know one of it's principles is to be like water. It has no resctrictions or molds. It's only used to guide you. So it doesn't matter what martial arts he used because he created his own system using the philosphy of Jeet Kune Do.

  • @isode1 it has a foundation, and principles.its not anything goes like people think.

  • @Ahmose1500BC That's what I keep telling ppl. only Dan Inosanto knows what's up

  • The reporter would have made a great character in Seinfeld.

  • he looks like a nice guy but Bruce did`nt pass him out at jkd so how can he teach bruce lee`s jkd.

  • @MrJoalre Better than let the art die.

  • God Bless You Elie

  • Jerry seems like a great guy and a true asset to the martial arts. Havin gsaid that ... my understanding is that Bruce certified 3 people in Jeet Kune Do -- Dan Inosanto, Taky Kimura, and James Yimm Lee. So how did Jerry Poteet become "the" Bruce Lee student?

  • @SeisanStnc he a student but never got to become certified because Bruce pass always first .. just like " Bob Barker " hes was one of Bruce student too soo or many other movies star RIP bruce lee never be forgotten

  • @MR7upify 2 more other students were james coburn and kareem abdul jabbar

  • He looks the same at 0:00 as he does at 0:14 and 4:12, owned brotha

  • To many in the martial art us Mr Lee's name to make a name and money off of

  • this video is so romantic , but bruce lee was also very tampered , specialy when he was driving ... and also he use to pick ramdom fight in the street just to see if his technique was good , so i can belive he was a fun guys just dont drive with him :D

  • He Eli, you forgot "reporting.."

  • @15BlackMask2 TKD sucks.....no offense but it's only effective if the person you're fighting stays away from you, is on a horse, has no idea how to fight, or if they are <5 years old

  • @chablehh so what do you base this opinion on?

  • @stompySharpNpointy The history of it's creation, personal experience (not using, used against), what they teach, and how it's practitioners use it

  • 1) Pause video

    2) Let it play

    3) Hold 2

    4) Now you have Jeet Kune Do scared by the showing by Elies private part.........

  • I thought the "practical" joke was gonna be a bit different..

0:36 "so i'm bending over.. hands behind.. and all of a sudden Bruce creeps behind me with his crotch against..."

  • JKD, to me is street fighting; adapt to your opponent, and try to have a keen since of timeing! Hit first, hit hard and fast...

  • There are different ways Tae Kwon Do is taught and practiced..most are sport the one I practice is more combative and it has Jeet Kune Do backgrounds in it

  • the way of the intercepting fist...this is also spike spiegels fighting style in cowboy bebop

  • the way of the intercepting fist

  • That jidd-reporter is annoying.

  • this guy screams so much its freaking annoying

  • @sethfan1000000 i agree

  • this reporter is shit

  • @vagin3r the reportes a jew

  • I didn't know gandalf knew martial arts....awesome.

  • @jackthrone ya why do u think he always carried a bo staff

  • Interviewer sounds like he has a Montreal accent, im from MTL

  • Interviewer sounds SOO annoying

  • lol or keep pressing 0 and you're gna have amazing delicious fun

  • Im also a Bruce Lee student!

  • that face man, that face! XD 0:00 and 4:12!

    <3Amanda<3

  • Taekwondo is NOT a sport art. It is usually taught as such, but really is not.

  • @tkddiuryl You mean it's not SUPPOSED to be. :-)

If 90 % of Tae Kwon Do clubs teach it as a sport art, you're really not all that wrong calling it a sport art, because that's the reality of it.

It's the same with Judo. Judo people can whine about that BJJ is just a ripoff of Judo all they want, but in reality, BJJ has evolved into something vastly different than Judo.

  • @brottarnacke

Look through the original Taekwondo carriculuae, and you'll notice that there's little sport involved there. Just because many schools teach it mainly as a sport does not make it is a sport, it just means the intructors are not teaching what Taekwondo is really is.

I judge an art by it's manuscrpits/carriculae, not by what people are teaching. If people are not teaching what's in the carriculae, then we cannot say what they're predominantly teaching in schools is the art.

  • @tkddiuryl I judge an art from how it is actually taught, because that's the kind of training I'm gonna get.

  • @brottarnacke

Your method means, if you're taught crap, you will teach crap, and your students will pass on crap aswell and so on and so on........I measure what I'm taught with the original carriculum, and edit out or modify whatever impractical stuff I was taught. By doing this the art stays alive and true to what it really is supposed to be.

If you just pass on crap you're just gonna end up killing the art in the long run. It's important to go back and study the original documents.

  • All I'm saying is that if I'm taught crap at a certain school, I'm not gonna waste my time continuing training there, just because their original curriculum says they're not supposed to teach crap, I'm gonna find another school that can provide the kind of training that I want instead. If I want to learn a martial art for self defense and I find that every single Tae Kwon Do school in town only train for competition, I'm just gonna go to a Krav Maga or JKD academy instead.

  • @brottarnacke TKD sport/competition is just that, competition, it's not meant for self defense, sadly very few TKD practitioners realise this. At my school we teach the sport and we teach the self defense part or TKD, and we have a Hapkido class. I understand most TKD schools teach sport, which is partially TKD's fault also, but there are TKD schools around that teach the proper art. It's not fair to generalise and say TKD is a "sport art" just because the schools you're exposed to teach sport.

  • how do you use jeet kune do to fight liver cancer? TAT DHAT!!!

  • @tomtom899ify energy and attitude. open your mind to possibilities. you will learn more that way

  • @tomtom899ify The spirit. If you met him, you'd see it. Seriously.

  • i want to learn jizz koon doo...

  • The Chi Sao is from WIng Chun of course. I didn't realize Bruce only went to level IV of a 10 level system. He was my idol growing up.

  • Bruce Lee with a foam rubber weapon is no joke man!

  • dude JKD suks wtf i can kick jerry's ass any day, i train muay boran for 3 years, wing chun since i was 5, nd i wrestled in college nd went all the way to NCAA.

  • @zerofox94 You forgot to say that you trained in Porn-watching.

    Makes the arm powerfull.

    You dump fuck.

  • @zerofox94 your funny this guy will kick your ass into space

  • @sethfan1000000 dude i can kick his ass niga i aint afraid hb i fight any of u

  • @zerofox94 you can beat up the guy who screams to much but not this old dude

  • @zerofox94 I assure you that Sifu Jerry at 70 could teach you a few things about respect. ;)

  • @zerofox94 College?to me it sounds like your still 5.

  • @zerofox94 u r a joke genius lol... WTF, srsly? college? thats bs, cuz ur brain doesnt fit with a college student, indeed its hardly any better than a high school kid like me. and f***ing fight anyone, say it when u have ur coffin prepared!!!! oh and btw, u r nothing but a shame of all kinds of martial art (i actually doubt that u r a martial artist, i think u r just one big butt kisser of wwe :D).

  • She said, "Taekwondo is a fine art, but it is more of a sport..." Well, FYI, any art can be a sport if you make it to be. You must realize that all martial arts was made to use in the battle fields in ancient times. It is those lousy practitioners that turned every martial arts into a sport and called it an effective fighting art.

  • @maliciousdoc She said JKD is a fine art. Taekwondo is more of a sport.

  • @CountVonBrink Taekwondo can be a sport. So is anything else. Well, soon enough every martial arts in america will be a sport. Its just a matter of time.

  • @maliciousdoc I wasn't diagreeing, just quoting her. If it has rules and takes place in a ring then it's a sport and if one trains to fight withing those restraints, then youre a sportsman. Totally agree. It's up to a few to keep it alive. BL wasnt interested in a sport. Real combat was the game.

  • he was in MANSWERS! for wing chun XD

  • @MyRosaryRomance Manswers got a few things wrong and Mr Poteet isnt too pleased. He doesnt like that they used Wing Chun or that they said he was the last living student. But that was a good clip.

  • @CountVonBrink Agreed Manswers don't give accurate information ever! But JKD is composed of Wing Chun and other martial arts. But you sir are very knowledgeable and wise when it comes to MA. =D

  • Jeet Kun Do is a harvard? LOL oh damn

  • this guy is kinda scary lol

  • wow for a old guy he got insanely young wife

  • so hes the first master of jeet kung do well if so maybe i want to be the seond master of JEET KUNG DO if i try it im gonna give all my best to be a master.

  • So he pulls one book and

    IN DEXTERS LAB!

  • Well if you don't know Ip Man. He is the one who taught Bruce Lee all his moves. Imagine him. DAMN

  • The interviewer (I use the term loosely) sounds like a donkey projectile vomiting in a quiet movie theatre.

  • This host talks like the retarded cop

    Look him up.

  • @smokeyvv hahahhahaha

    He fucken does too!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is exactly why bruce lee regretted showing jeet kune do to people. because people who dont really understand the concept think they know jeet kune do. more than half of the style is thought and bruce was the only one that was able to think fast enough to intercept your mind

  • @itsGdublan yea he was as much of a fighter as he was a philosopher and you can't understand jeet kune do by only learning the moves but also understanding bruce lee's ideas and philosophies

  • He was a technical advisor-actor in Dragon

  • @Volgeblanc Jerry Poteet? He trained Jason Scott Lee to fight, choreograghed, and had a small part.

  • lul at 0:00 and 4:13

  • WING CHUN SPOTTED @ 3:57

  • 4:01 Jeet JUNE Jo... lol

  • I saw this man in the 60 second fight scene of Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story :D

  • Comment removed

  • is JKD bruce lee's tchr? sifu??

  • dumb

  • Jeet Kune Doo it doesn't exist...the first and the last master of Jeet Kune Doo was Bruce Lee...

  • @Szekeres93 that's not correct a style of fighting can never stop existing, because if it does then also the memories of its founder or masters along with it
