  • This is so cool... This is the same time my dad was on board and its just kinda neat to see some visual references to the things he talked about. Thanks for uploading this stuff..

  • 2:20 song name?

  • @1SFODdelta - Up Around the Bend by Creedence Clearwater Revival

  • @WarbirdFactory Thank you very much dude!

  • Thanks for these videos Jim; what memories they bring back!

    Fred Ihrke VF-194 Line; 69, 70, 71.

  • Damn, A-7's and F-8's are small aircraft, but hell they make the Oriskany look small as well LOL

  • Very nice video, I was on the Oriskany in 1965,I was the hangerdeck asst. Po -E5, I was flown off in Sept. for my discharge, had to land in Da Nange...was shot at while waiting for COD to be fixed {hydraulic leak} but made it home ok. Before that, I was on the Bonnie Dick..3 yrs..hanger deck, ,any one know Charlie Knight?...thumbs up to the video....Love

  • A-7E Corsair II

  • A-7E Corsair II

  • What is the plane at 1:41?

  • what model corsair on here has the hydraulic that lifts the wing, changes angle of attack and acts as a slow flight speed break also,. there seem to be two distinct corsairs on here a larger one and a smaller one.. anyone know?

  • The plane with the vertcal moving wing is a F8 Crusader, not a Corsair.

  • @rjrassets Those are F-8 Crusaders and A-7 Corsairs.

  • LTV-Ling, Temco, Vaught. A7s and F8s.

Dad flew the Corsair II and insisted he wouldn't have made it back except for this horse. Took hits that would have taken a lesser craft out right the fu;ck now.

The A7s with the blue tails was his squadron - VA153.

    I miss my dad.

  • grandpa served on this boat

  • That's some intense footage and a cool assortment of aircraft, too.

  • That's interesting to see the A7 on the Oriskany. I never knew that the A7 operated from the upgraded Essex classes. Learn something new everyday!

  • The first two planes to shoot off are f-8's and there are some A-7 shots. I love the F-8, one heck of a fighter, and it had a gun unlike the early f-4's.

  • Hi, saw your video - is it the second vessel on the left?

  • Thanks for the production. Well done. I believe I have a shot of the Oriskany and my ship, CVA-31, together in a taskforce. It is a high obligue aerial so it is hard to tell but I think it is the Oriskany in 1970. It is at the end of my short video at 1:40.
