@jjames11984 He challenged Lennox, but Lennox feared a rematch with Klitschko to much so he retired instead of rematching Vitali then fighting Roy. Not saying Roy would win, cus that may be just to much size difference.. Dont forget Roy started his career at about 153lbs (Jr middle weight).

Roy shouldve stayed at heavyweight; the drop back down drained him of his speed and reflexes. But, the big money fights were back at light heavyweight not at heavyweight so......

@donee1000 Hes 42 now. His legs arent as strong and quickfooted as he use to be. He still has hand speed but he doesnt have power like he use to. He might not train as hard as he use to. He might not have his confidance anymore as much (His last chance was vs Calzaghe and he took a whupping in that fight). Take your pic :(

hey kiizer, do me a favor...before you post nonsense, make sure you thought it through. when roy came down from heavyweight, he was the same roy...omg, he had to lose 18 pounds in a period of 7 months to fight tarver the first time...7 months is sufficient for any athlete to lose 18 pounds. roy came into the ruiz fight at 193...next time before you post crap, seperate fact and fiction first.

@thedonkadafi I seen this comment and you are wrong. Jones was going to fight Corey Sanders but Sanders pulled out of the fight. Jones ended up fighting Tarver and he had to sweat 25 pounds of muscle. When you burn muscle it is very dangerous. You lose tons of fluid including fluid around the brain, you lose stamina, and you lose your legs. He should have taken atleast a yr off after the first Tarver fight to let his body heal but it doesn't take away that he ruled boxing for 14 to 15 yrs.

wtf? I think roy is unreal, top 5 fighters of all-time. But he admitted later that he did opt out of the fight with Calzaghe earlier in his career. I think if they had of fought 5-6 years ago it would have been extremely close, around the time Joe fought Mitchell, but I still think Calzaghe would have won, just too determined not to lose and a iron-cast chin and freakish workrate, but hey, that's just my opinion, I love Roy.

mate i'm not a hater, as i said i love roy, but calzaghe did have a great tactical boxing brain, he adjusts to every fight and adapts. IMO he would have just snatched it, yes, roy and b-hop put him down, as did byron mitchell - watch that fight, joe got up and destroyed him after that. Look, both prime it could go either way, joe hit alot harder before he fucked his hands, but if someone had a gun to my head i'd put my bet on joe, just my opinion dude. peace & respect

WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!! there initial fight was supposed to take place at middleweight in the early 90's Calzaghe didn't win his 1st meaningful title until the late 90's... 97 or 98 I believe and by that time Roy was already light heavy weight champ and he was still ranked much higher than Joe Cal in every rank system. He was pound for pound champ at the time so what r u talkin about?

Calzaghe never fought professionally at middleweight! Jones yes, 4 weight class champion. Calzaghe was wbo champ at the time and the fight was scheduled, jones pulled, he later admitted this when came together to fight later, his reason was he was too dangerous at the time. P4P or not, joe was the champ. Pisses me off when people think everyone has to go to the us for the biggest fights, it's no longer the mecca of boxing.
