  • some people I know just arent Otis people thats not a big problem but I have to say one thing after seeing the button panel looking at again the button panel was a mess only with Schindler though

  • Nice elevator! Did you get caught?

  • Wow. This is the first elevator i've seen where the position indicator doesn't give you an idea of how high up you are.

  • those elevators are not otis.they are rainbow

  • whats white??

  • Might be a Gen2. They may have ripped out all of the Schindler stuff.

  • there ya go with your brand/type ASSumptions again...

  • @dea41396returns Excuse me, but this WAS IN FACT a Schindler.

  • @revo8778 well you're calling it a gen2

  • @dea41396returns I brought up the possibility of it being a Gen2, but did not actually say it's a Gen2.

  • The sound and Display is out of sync. This elevator is weird too.

  • What one is the main level.

  • Yellow.

  • The motor is scary!!!

  • I remember the old Rike's/Lazarus parking garage in Downtown Dayton OH also using colors to designate its levels. It used the old-style indicators. It was torn down summer 2002 and replaced with a low-rise garage for the new Schuster Arts Center.

  • I was hoping someone could get a video of these. These (mindlessly structured) elevators were made famous by a feature on an elevator panel page, which you have noted. God knows what Schindler was thinking for the originals and OTIS seems to have cleaned up the concept, despite it being completely bizarre. They were really determined to use this colored scheme because they actually took away the classic floor indicator and left their marquee indicator they normally offer as optional. Weird!!

  • Green level = level 7? Black level = level 6? Red level = hospital 5th floor? Tan level = hospital 4th floor? Purple level = hospital 3rd floor? Orange level = hospital 2nd floor ("BR" at north parking)? Blue level = hospital 1st floor? *Yellow level = ground floor? Pink level = level B1? White level = level B2? Brown level = level B3?
  • way are a no main lobby?

the main lobby has the yellow level!

  • It's very weird.

  • P-L-A-S-E another retake from this parking garage elevators!!!

  • The elevator is very interesting

  • Never seen an elevator like this!

  • The motor sounds like a drum-winding elevator.

  • when it said brown level it sounded like it said ground level, by the way it is really odd to see a color coded floor panel

  • the Yellow level has the ground!

    Brown level = level "B3"!

  • verry nice elevator i will ride the elevator

  • Another strange thing about the floor labeling is that people wouldn't easily be able to know lowest to highest. They'd probably have to memorize the order.

  • whats up with the colored floors 99.99% of the levels are numbered or lettered floors.whats wrong with the motor?

  • WTF there's COLORED levels? Never even occured to me that they could have that!

  • Definitely not an MRL elevator.

  • Nope - that was originally Schindler, built way before they came out with MRL elevators.

  • The footbridge (orange level) has access to what other buildings?

  • if they're color buttons then how do you know which floors they are?

  • I guessed by location - since the top floor has to be on top.

  • You don't need to know what number.

  • i like that motor sound

  • what does WTF mean on the annoatations please reply musicfreakcc

  • My response to the buttons.

  • well whats WTF stand for

  • Umm...

  • how come you wont tell me what WTF stands for

  • it means "What The *Beep*"

  • Means "what the" followed by "you know the rest."

  • it's What the F-Word

  • wtf means what the f**k

  • Nobody likes numbers anymore!? Wow... this is the most awkward elevator yet.

  • Wow that is the weird floor labeling I've ever seen. Same with the display and motor.

  • It is also very interesting how every floor in that parking garage corresponds with a different color. Also, the capacity is 3500 LBS.

  • But it is rare for floors to be solely marked by colors - without numbers.

  • it sounds like a motorroom-less elevator!

  • Large parking deck.

  • Did the old schindler display the full name of the color of the floor

  • I don't know.

  • lol color levels never seen anything like that why no just numbers

  • Should have the number AND the color. Did the old indicator look like that?

  • I don't know.

  • That control panel was in really bad shape, and I saw all of those unused, rather useless buttons.

  • Did one of the elevators have a back door because the old panel had an extra button for each floor.

  • Those buttons were inactive - none of the elevators had back doors.

  • Holy Crap. People must have really been confused.

  • Oh yeah! That was, and somewhat still is, one dumb panel.

  • This is a HUGE improvement over what the inside control panel used to look like. I think there is a picture of the old one floating around on the Internet somewhere.

  • Oh yes!!! I'll post a link to it.

  • I like it better when they use letters/numbers in conjunction with color coding, since it helps identify the floors more effectively.

  • Yes, but floor numbers alone beat colors.

  • Yes, I agree, since numbers/colors are a better combination for floor identification.

  • Heh - sucks to be colorblind.

  • Look at the link I added in the video info. The panel used to be even worse!

  • Where is the ground floor (as of colored levels)?

  • Yellow Level
