Listening to this recording took me back to schooldays in the 1960s when we would have Benediction every Wednesday, and 500 of us boys would sing these beautiful hymns accompanied by the big pipe organ.
I think the Catholic Church should bring back weekly Benediction with these exact hymns. The Latin is not hard to learn.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing this with so many who are homebound when they would rather be before the Eucharist in adoration and peace.
You could have a love- hate relationship with the people in the church but not with Christ because he has only shown us love.
Although the people running the church are not perfect, the catholic/orthodox church is the only church where you can find the fullness of the christianity. And when it comes the the "real presence," the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic church is the only show in town.
So don't play around with your salvation-go back to church! (but go to confession first)
I miss the Latin at Mass. I remember when Father O'Donnell gave me the Mass card so I could learn the responses and prayers be able to serve Mass. I learned them in one night and he made me an Altar Boy the next day in 1958 at St. Jarlath's Church in Oakland, Calif.
Wow, what a wonderful witness to God's love and mercy in your life. Heaven rejoices when souls return to our Lord. Share your story whenever you feel called. There are far too many that have left and haven't returned! God bless.
Welcolm Home brother! We pray for many many more to come home.
What do you say to those who have stopped believing and left the church. What do you say to those who are in the church and show little reverence before Jesus in the Tabernacle?
Like you, I've also returned to God - and I'm 52 y/o....though I know He never left me. I'm so happy for you. Take courage and Love those around you. God Bless.
As one of the Saints said, "The time that we spent in the Blessed Sacrament is the best time we ever spent while we are still here on earth" amen! How wonderful it is to be with Jesus truly present Body Blood Soul and Divinity in the Blessed Sacramen!
This is truly a most amazing video. I've now developed the habit of viewing it when I get home from work. No matter how physically and mentally depleted I may feel it has the power of renewing and refreshing me like nothing else can. My profound thanks, mysaviormygod, for posting it. May the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus bless and lead us to His Eternal Kingdom.
St Peter Julian Eymard notes: "Adore Jesus through Jesus Himself." Because"..when we consider the GOODNESS of our Lord, we can pray for one hour, two hours without mental strain. If distractions come--and as often as they come-we beg pardon for them without ever growing tired; for we know...we shall always be pardoned...Put yourself under the influence of our Lord's GOODNESS, and your sins will frighten you no longer...DIVINE MERCY will forgive them; IT IS PRESENT IN PERSON BEFORE YOU."+Peace+
"...[I]f we consider the goodness of our Lord, we can pray for 1 hour, 2 hours without mental strain. If distractions come--& as often as they come--we beg pardon for them without growing tired; for we shall always be pardoned. If things were otherwise, we should lose heart & cease praying...Put yourselves under the influence of our Lord's GOODNESS & your sins will frighten you no longer. Divine mercy will forgive them; it is present IN PERSON before you."
gosh, if only every parish practiced their adoration this way....how many more would come to adore or Lord. unfortunetely, no one comes to eucharistic adoration anymore.
today my son attended the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass at the catholic college and the vast majority of the pupils did not kneel at the consecration apart from my son and a couple of the teachers who were there !! In the booklet was written to sit??? something is seriously wrong !!
Sadly, they may not belive :( there are some "Catholic" college's that are Catholic in name only. Tell your son that the college is in our prayers, and that he is in our prayers.
Amen.
Speak the truth even when you are ridiculed about your
support and obediance to the Pope.
Your Love for Jesus (The Most Holy Eucharist)
It hurts when you hear Catechists say bread and wine instead of the body of Christ and the precious blood of Christ. Do they Belive or not???
They empasise the meal and degrade the sacrifice!
It hurts when some priests underplay the Eucharist and overemphasis "US" the gathering and the meal. But the Eucharist is source, centre and summit of our life.
A fellow parishioner of mine, a simple house wife could see that during mass when the the pastor blesses the host a light would strike the host and make the host shine in white light.
She would only see this just sometimes though not in every mass, mostly with a particular priest too. Somtimes her friend would see this too but the rest of people would see nothing unusual.
Beautiful...whenever I hear these hymns sung, it brings out the beauty and richness of our Catholic faith. The Eucharist - the heart of the Church, is Jesus Himself.
"How I loved the feasts!.... I especially loved the processions in honor of the Blessed Sacrament. What a joy it was for me to throw flowers beneath the feet of God!... I was never so happy as when I saw my roses touch the sacred Monstrance..."
- from St. Therese's Autobiography Story of A Soul
foarte frumos....ami aduce aminte de antalnirile de tineret cand participam la rugaciuni an fata sfantului sacrament, sunt clipe frumoase ,clipe an care te antalnesti cu Isus .
the song is called O Salutaris Hostia Note: The text of this hymn was composed by St. Thomas Aquinas and, along with Tantum Ergo, is strongly associated with Eucharistic Adoration, particularly, the Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. There are variations on the melody. O Salutaris Hostia Quae coeli pandis ostium Bella premunt hostilia Da robur fer auxilium Uni trinoque Domino Sit sempi terna gloria Qui vitam sine termino Nobis donet in patria A-men
Christianity is not a religious philosophy, the Church is Christianity. So the Eucharist is the central focus of the Church, because it is the sacrifice of Christ, which is Christianity.
"God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God." (Ps. 62:11) Christ died once, but millions of times the world over have we experienced His sacrifice through the Eucharist. (Jn. 6:53-55)
Christ's sacrifice, present in the Eucharist, is True Christianity.
Christ inhabited a physical human body. How could a human body hold the glory and power of God Almighty? Because God wills it.
The Church, from the earliest times, throughout history has supported this mystery. Protestants' lack of faith has denied it in favor of empty symbolism. But it is the body of our Lord, just as was His human body, used for us for teaching and sacrifice. The mystery of the Eucharistic presence is no different than the mystery of the Incarnation.
"Jesus said to them, `Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day." John 6:53-54.
Thank you for posting this. I am glad that this practice seems to becoming back in the church. I remember singing this in Polish when I was an altar boy.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful work with us. I was truly moved and felt as if I was spending a few precious minutes with our saviour. I am also a catholic and have little time to get to adoration of the blessed sacrament because church is so far from home.

How beautiful! The King of Kings and the Lord of Lords hides humbly in daily bread, just so He can be close to His striving children. Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity, the Lover never leaves His beloved. "I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you" Jn 14:18
Karen, this really is an awesome video. You have touched on the holiness and the sacred tradition of adoration of our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. God bless you for sharing your faith with us, and hopefully, with those who don't believe.
