  • Bravo sir.. Bravo.

  • You captured the ABSOLUTE TRUE experience of Burning Man, my friend!

I got GOOSEBUMPS watching your amazing video.

I, too, didn't go for 5 years--I finally went last year.

Thank you for the time you took to edit this video of beautiful memories.

  • @walbrecht326 thank you for the comment... means a bunch.

  • What's the pussy like there? Any, Men of Honour like to share experience or taste?

  • the only thing that could be more of a waste of time than watching this video would be going to Burning Man itself. these are the same people who love to dance to techno for hours while the world is burning. these are literally the head-in-the-sand people, the liberals who sign petitions and think that's activism. a profoundly sick crowd mired in drugs and sex worship. . . . there is an up side, and that's the incredible art produced by these wastoids. thanks for the vid.

  • @JockCountry I went and I don't fall into any of the categories you listed...

  • @JockCountry Ahahaahaha! You're so right. Burning Man sucks. Don't go.

  • @JockCountry I look forward to you never being there to ruin my vacation then :)

  • @JockCountry The only thing that could be more of a waste of time then commenting on this video would be watching this video itself. The author of this comment is the same person who loves to watch Katy Perry videos, browse youtube gawking at liberals, and write comments about people who appear to be having fun and enjoying life. A profoundly sick person mired in self-loathing and celibacy. There is an upside, however I'm having trouble thinking of what that might be.

  • @JockCountrhilarious!written like a man that comments on stuff they've never experienced, typical of an opinionated uneducated person..haha, laughable comment!BM is a transformational freaking fab-fest. lets not get this jock-wannabe off the couch ,turn off his TV, or take his beer out of his busy hand.BM is for people that to expand not contract, widen not narrow, build not stagnate.I love this vid,its one of my fav BM vids, captures the random moments.thank you for this.we were all newbies once.

  • Can asians go there too?

  • @ponderingmeerkat - what? I've give you one guess.

  • nice vid bro, the place is freakin crazy

  • Happy Burnal Equinox, everybody.

I'm so sad it looks like I won't be able to get tickets this year. Have been hooked for the past 5 and it has become my way of life. Was hoping to make the trip from Canada again this year. Now it looks like "home" doesn't have room for me.

  • WOW.. this has to be one of he most profound post ever. Two comments you made were like a crystal bullet in between the eyes. "It was I who determined those moments" and "nothing returns from the playa unchanged" My first year was 2005. I was lucky to bring my wife in 2006. everyyear since i have brought some of her ashes and placed them in the temple. As a volunteer with the black rock city fire department I have been honored with being able to experiance all that BM has to offer.

  • @gumbyfire1 - these are my favorite type posts, and thank you for your volunteer service out there on the Playa.

  • Can't get enough of Burning Man. Everyone should go once before they die or die trying to get a ticket starting 2012.

  • Awesome!

  • Dude - I feel quite similarly, though I've yet to go. I've known about burning man for many years and thought I wouldn't like it but never investigated at all. Just today I decided to do some research, and spent hours on the BM site reading about it, and looking at images and a couple of videos and I can't believe I didn't do this sooner. All I kept thinking was "I need to go this year" - and this year there's almost no way I can get a ticket at this point. :-( Thanks for your effort and opinion

  • @WesternPAdude opinions opinions opinions... everyone has their own time... and telling anyone else what THEY should be doing with THEIR time seems like a waste of time... As for Europe, I actually thankfully did both last year (Europe Vs Burning Man). To each his or her own. tomkiesche.wordpress (dot) com /2012/01/08/europe-vs-burning-man/

  • @TomKiesche Ok I read it but it doesn't sound like you went anywhere in Scandinavia. That's the best place to go in Europe.

Plus, I bet people are breaking a lot of laws in the Burning Man.

  • @WesternPAdude At some point I'd like to see much more of the world... However this year I'm focused on the career again. Selling a script, and acting work.

  • great vid I also lost my virginity this year. i have spent about 11 years wanting to go!

  • Look man, I know you're excited about burning man, but stop posting videos about it, and take this one down. Telling everyone about burning man is like telling everyone about your favorite fishing spot, Or telling people the location of the gold mine you discovered. Seriously. stfu.

  • @theistus on your own history you watched many videos on Burning Man & publicly appreciated them... The number of touching notes I've gotten from posting this has been astounding. And if you think I had a large part in the number of people that have seen it, compare the hit counts to the other videos I've posted. You seen Tedshots OH THE PLACES YOU WILL GO YET? Bet you loved that one.

  • @TomKiesche hey you can do what you want, it's a free country, but I think you should be aware of how publicity for this event -> tourists, weekenders, fratboys, and jackasses. I cringe every time I see video, news article, public photo set, etc. And yes, I scan bman vieos. I scan them to report them when i find some jackass who is videoing critical tits and putting it online. Some jackass whose coming to bman for all the wrong reasons because he saw some video on youtube ;)

  • @theistus I was a jackass. 'Till I saw a video and went to Black Rock City.

  • @Bobnerin1 Good for you. Did you get your tickets this year? enjoy the lottery process? Hey, my tickets in the bag every year, so I don't have to worry. But popularizing the event has led to the current complete clusterfuck we are experiencing. So when you complain that you can;t get tickets, remember I told you so. ;)

  • @theistus Nah. Didnt go last year either. I got everything I wanted and more in 2010. Don't get me wrong, I would love to go back. But there is more in life to experience. I think others should get the chance. Fighting against the tide you are, hmmm?

  • @theistus you would like to control something you have no knowledge of or power over. this can and will only make you frustrated and angry which will lead to you gesticulating and stewing. let go you have no choice.

  • @jessyjetpacks Ah yes, because I can control things with youtube comments. It's part of my evil plan for world domination.

  • @theistus I am very glad people do post these video's, as they are the reason i found out about Burning Man. By telling people not to do so, you are basically taking away one of the best experiences of many lives. Please do not keep this wonderfull and lifechanging event for yourself and spread the word. Don't be selfish and give others the possibility to make a change in their lives. kind regards out of Amsterdam

  • @BonewitJesse Ah, you have confused commentary and conversation with orders and force. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, including you and the guy who posted the video. I'm equally entitled to mine. I haven't taken anything away from anyone, I'm just having a dialog. I'm glad you went to burning man and enjoyed it. BTW get your tickets this year? enjoy the lottery? popularizing the event led to the current SNAFU of problems there.

  • That looks like one hell of a time! Only if I didn't live across the U.S...

  • Doogie Houser goes to Burning man.

  • Awwww!

  • This was my first year as well. Hung out with Playa Surfers, they were fun. Worked on the Otic Oasis. Total days: 16. First two days were tough but after that it was fine. Experience of a lifetime!

  • @robost 16 days? Wow. You must have gotten there or stayed there when it was a ghost town... 10 days and there was a good amount of people the first night tooling around after the sun went down and worked stopped.

  • @TomKiesche Arrived on the 22nd of August and left a few days after the event was over. The place was pretty well deserted.

  • So.......everyones white?

  • @Dat808dude Nope. Not even in the video. And now looking, NOT EVEN IN THE SCREEN GRAB.

  • @Dat808dude just covered in white dust

  • This seems like a big experience. If someone has little experience with drugs or festivals, is Burning Man too extreme to jump into?

I love the lectures of Terrence McKenna and he mentioned this festival. As do Joe Rogan on his podcast!

  • @Kalferzu I don't partake in drugs, nor am I too much a festival person... I personally stopped thinking and just jumped.

  • You should submit the admission of ignorance to God, not to shamans or sorcerers! If you think playing with some evil spirits was fun, how much more heaven and all he offers. I mean isn't he the one who made it all?

  • @Manofheart777 interesting comment.

  • Still looks a turd to me. They do this under the guise of art ? Awful.

  • @qbert65536 I'm not sure it's under the "guise" of anything...

  • @TomKiesche - I'm glad to hear it's creatively charged you. That's one of the goals. Charged me up too - for my fashion line ;). Good luck to ya & may be we'll all meet on the Playa someday!

  • You got it. You got what it all means. Had my own first burn in 2011. All your thoughts are mirrored in me. Thanks for posting this. After that lottery debacle, I was feeling a little down - I'm reinvigorated to get back to the Playa. WELCOME HOME!

  • @culturefreak77 there were several reasons I decided not to pursue going this year, one very big one was the lottery, that indeed turned out how I predicted... but the biggest was focusing on my creative work. However, I see myself going back in the future.

  • I love the authentic sounds and music in your video...in place of say, horrible cheesy house laid over everything.

  • @stra1ghtbananas - thank you, that was a choice... I really didn't cut this to be entertaining, I truly thought no one would watch it, nor enjoy watching it. It really has turned out to be a perfect demonstration of one of the reasons I went to BM... And that was ART FOR ART SAKE.

  • I love the missing comma ('fire breathing orgy tents)

  • @kienocard Tis funnier phrased that way I think.

  • AWESOME

  • Hell Yes!

  • First burning man: lost my V card, homosexual experience, drug use, first time being drunk, dancing naked and the amazing ppl I met... I will forever remember my first burning man.

  • @dyrkfurio I will remember mine as well, for all different reasons.

  • Crazy, white folk stuff. Did anyone try those Indian tacos?

  • @16nowhereman I heard good things, but I didn't, no.

  • 0:48

    She's so hot.

  • this is absolutely epic

  • when is it!

  • 02:48. Holy wow.

  • terrible.. 175K views? yikes

  • Glastonbury in the desert? kinda cool..........

  • awesome video, man. watched the whole thing. makes me want to go now :D

  • Been looking at this for a little while. Thank you for posting.

  • @jgeekie thank you for commenting.

  • 2011 was my first year. Blew my mind. Going back. If you do, look for "Brokedown Palace" theme camp, (obviously Dead-themed). Out of LA as well...GREAT vid. You cut this WONDERFULLY. Really fun to watch...

  • @ejb4501 - thank you, I'll probably be passing this year, as I feel the need to continue my career in the right path, but so happy I experienced it. maybe when I can helicopter in I'll be back ;-)

  • @TomKiesche Understood. We're a production team, and it is dicey making the committment. Our Production Designer was ALL in, made some amazing art for the theme camp. Then days before BM, he's offered a monster job and simply had to take it. Our camp leader has had a couple shows on ABC as creator/show runner, and actor, and directs spots out of Company Films, and he had to turn stuff down 'cuz he just couldn't say no to the week, but it stings a bit to turn down work in L.A.! Good luck!

  • @ejb4501 shieeet, I should have hung out in your camp, it might have been good for my career... :-)

  • @TomKiesche Well, you'll have to come by in 2013!

  • @ejb4501 LOL... feel free to find me on the Facebook and remind me.

  • Marble Hornets reference?

  • @craniifer don't know what that means.

  • Were you on Breaking Bad?

  • @AudioRaptur3 a couple times yes.

  • @TomKiesche solid

  • ZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

  • Are most of the attendees from San Fran?

  • @jpwjaz I met people from all over, I'm sure the stats are some where. I'm no expert.

  • Wasted $ & time bandits , build homes for the homeless instead

  • @louis12346 again I'm not a champion for Burning Man, but you might research the organization that is filled with Burners, who things exactly like that... BURNERS WITHOUT BORDERS.

Besides it's their time, and it's their money... Let them decide what to do with it. I wouldn't think anyone should tell you, or me what to do with our time or resources.

  • someone toook a piiiiiiilllllll!!!

  • @imacutemale - actually no.

  • @TomKiesche haha just playing buddy... you know you get the druggies that say, it opens your mind man.. break down barriers and smash downs walls to bring us closer together maaaan, i was just playing that you had taken a pill and 'had broken down your barriers'.

  • @imacutemale trust me, I heard that over and over... and I was like... who needs pills or shrooms... just open your mind and break down barriers... be well! all is great! have an awesome year!

  • @TomKiesche It does look incredible, when im next in the U.S i will look at tying it in to the trip and have a few beers with the burning man and friends... after vegas of course. ;) you too mate, take care.. and keep breaking barriers. 'maaaaaan' ;)

  • 2:34- got spanked my the same guy :) i got a 3-3-4-3!

  • @Veronica5748 sounds like you dug it with 4 different numbers... "Oh that was okay. Yeah that wasn't bad. Okay too much. Yeah three, no I'm done."

  • I wished to go to the burning man for a couple of years now...but sadly never managed to get the needed mones together - it`s a bit costly with the flight over the atlantic an everything since I am german, y`know? Do me a favor and drink a beer for me there, will ya?

  • @Nureinanderer - someone else will have to drink one for you on the playa this year... I'm gonna do someone other things this year.

  • That clicking in the beginning is really fucking irritating.

  • Sweet video last chick sounded like a bitch lol

  • PHUCKING GIRLS. I'M COMING

  • So glad you went, had a camera and did the editing. One of the best pieces on The Man I've seen. Good on ya!

  • 3:24 yes fuck yes!!!

  • Wow! Absolutely brilliant!

  • I'm glad you went. I'd still love to go. The footage you got makes me want to go more than ever. I kinda see it not only as an experience or an experiment, but a celebration for the freedom of life.

  • I'm going.

  • A lot of gorgeous girls..Jesus

  • Sweet video man. Awesomely put together :D

  • This looks pretty sick

  • omfg the girls in this video are amazing

  • @sick83408 yeah, the ones I know, are pretty awesome people.

  • Nice work brother - great video. C ya at the Burn 2012

  • @CrashrDJ69 probably not me this year, have to focus on my writing and acting work this year...

  • @TomKiesche I get it man, I took 2 years off the Burn to get work on track. Went back for 2010. Liked it better knowing reality was taken care of. Ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

  • Whered you get that sick mask and goggles?

  • @UnHolyMan9117 which ones, what time?

  • @TomKiesche About 1:26

  • @UnHolyMan9117 - as unhelpful as this might be, I got that set of goggles downtown in LA, in the sunglasses district, and the mask I had owned from earlier, which I purchased through a chemical mask company... I used it to protect myself from chemical fumes which came off of burning PVC pipes... While I was a volunteer designer/builder at the LA ZOO.

  • @TomKiesche Ohh, well alright then, thanks anyways :P

  • Knew nothing about this prior to seeing the video, looka amazing!

  • @tomkieche I'm under Sara Lynn Weal on facebook. I don't know if that is enough information to find me. I'd rather not post my email publicly. I don't know how to send private messages on youtube though. Hopefully this works.

  • @rubymermaidgal I got this message, so you can delete it now... I'll forward the info on to her... BTW myself, and the playa surfers are on Facebook too.

  • @TomKiesche Is that Ali as in Sunshine? Man that chic gave me n a friend some freakin' WILD nights at the Burn 2010 ;-> I've got her #s if ya still need.

  • Hey neighbor! I was at 4 and G this year and the playa surfers lifeguard tower was my landmark amongst the ever changing playa to know how to get home! I met some of you at decompression this year which was a blast. I am trying to locate a playa surfer named Alison. Do you know if she has a facebook?

  • @rubymermaidgal I will let her know you're looking for her with a message, and let her get in contact with you. How's that?

  • @rubymermaidgal done, if you want to include your information, I'll send that to her as well... As sure as I am that you're a super sweet person, I don't really like giving out people's contact information without their say so. Hope you understand.

  • Right of Passage was my virgin burn too. This video about sums it up! So much fun, and crappy all at the same time :)

  • not even fucking around, are you the same Tom Kiesche that plays clovis in breaking bad ?! just watched this video and then an episode of breaking bad and im spinning the fuck out either you look exactly like him with the same name or its you, my head feels like i just slammed it in a washing machine for three days my brain cant even work out whats goin on

  • @joedljoedl one in the same... don't let your head fly off, but I've done a ton of other things as well in the world... all the best.

  • Beautiful. Thank you for sharing this. Thank you for reminding me while I still go. Thank you for being rare and open.

  • @Phreddiva my pleasure... as for "rare and open" feel free to watch other vids I've posted over the years.

  • I dont laugh much, not because Im not happy, I am.Burning man transformed me.I had a "divine" epiphany in the temple fire 5 years ago and have never been the same. the default world became the illusion and burners became the world I choose to exist in.Your footage made me laugh OUTLOUD! so many times! I saw myself as a newbie. Its so fun to be a burner, unlike you, I had never heard of it before going! hope you come back to be with us. find me at disorient.love and fire, dr deb

  • @1drdeb4u always happy to hear I moved someone in any way... but laughs are my favorite... I don't think this year will find me there, but I will most likely be back at some point... too much I need to still learn.

  • thanks for posting! going this year for the first time and I'm scared and excited! any hints you want to pass along?

  • @leefaish YES if you don't like something, anything, walk away, find some thing else... don't get caught up in the negative there's too much positive.

  • Thanks for sharing m8. wish you the best.

  • BURNING MAN 2012!!!! Cya There!!

  • @1killer146 probably not this year for me... but enjoy!

  • then you go and then your a convert right

  • @jamiebellwolf I appreciate it now, yes.

  • @TomKiesche what was it like and do you bring your own food or share? how does one get creative? whats it all about?

  • @jamiebellwolf I brought my own food, and I also partook in sharing once I was there... As for the other two questions... Those are WAY TOO LARGE for me to tackle here.

  • where all the hotties at?

  • @kookkevin some of the guys were hotties

  • Can you keep it up for more than 10 days?

Guy Debord=> Society of the Spectacle. Burning Man is not much more than a big postmodern spectacle.

  • Inspirational... totally.. waiting on tickets now myself :-)

  • thanks man, i'm going next year ! send me some info.

  • @skull1969doug There's plenty of info out there, google it.

  • I don't get it.

  • @jickopik what's there to get?

  • Great video bro! I will be experiencing my first Burning Man este año...can't wait.

  • Response***** Not Responce

  • cthulhu from South Park must finish that crap off!

  • Black Rock City does not have a population of 50,000 people. Really. It's a temporary encampment. It could never function as a real city.

  • @oehlda2000 umm, it does for ten days, and it functions amazingly. open your eyes....

  • naked girl at 2:03

  • I can't believe you ran into dave warden at 1:59 that guy is famous, check out theweedreport on youtube or at the dotcom, that guy is a legend in cali! and I'm not even from the area I live on east coast

  • @UpliftingSmoke 1:57 actually

  • @UpliftingSmoke what has he done? to be so famous?

  • cool playground for rich kids

  • @desirefirst - actually I would say many aren't rich, many scrape together funds to go... though there are very rich there... but I couldn't tell you who was who.

  • @TomKiesche

real beauty BUT - take the time to read please i beg you

    google :

"The hypocrisy of the Burning Man Organization pisses me off."

it is long but he has a point and so does @desirefirst

    sign

    rich kid

  • @imokadi I'll look at it, though I could list a ton of things myself... I'm not a commercial or a pr firm for the place... I have some or many issues with it all as well. But I'm not sure there's things in the world I don't have issues with at times.
