  • he talks about intellectual honesty, but he needs to take his own advice. he has been shown the problems with his tag argument but continues to pretend they are not there. watch the atheist experience matt slick tag

  • Make us explain why we dont beleive in god? simple... abolutely no proof. Ill pose a question to you, how do you know pigs cant fly? you DONT. but THEY JUST DONT DO THEY!?

  • @sammybarnet If you are ok with hunting look up the video: The day pigs did fly.(it's funny if you like bacon, horror invoking if you are a vegetarian)

The thing is,when religious people say prove god doesn't exist that is dishonest because you can't prove something doesn't exist. Prove bigfoot doesn't exist. That's not possible. I tell them if you claim something exists, it's up to you to prove because it's impossible to prove something DOESN'T exist. Then they say "faith" lol They never quit.

  • @shananagans5 Prove god exists? Hmmm...I KNOW I KNOW! The bible. Now it's up to you to prove the bible is not the inspired word of god. Ball in your court buddy.

  • @narutardtedr That isn't valid because you can never prove something doesn't exist or something is not related. Basically, you can't prove a negative. EVER! Prove Bigfoot doesn't eat at Red Lobster.

  • @shananagans5 Well i'm holding a pink unicorn that is glued to my hand, that is invisible but has very tangible blood. And when i close my hand the very visible blood will splash everywhere. Since i closed my hand and there is no blood coming from an invisible source, i have thus proven there is no unicorn. If we lock down the woods before we cut them down and find no bigfoot, we proved he did not exist. So yes you can prove something doesn't exist. Ball still in your court.

  • @narutardtedr I can also prove bigfoot doesn't eat at red lobster. If i were to compile all the surveillance footage from every red lobster in the world and watch it, and he doesn't appear. I have thus proven he did not eat there. So now since i have proven that you CAN prove a negative it is up to you to prove the bible is not the inspired word of god.

  • @narutardtedr That's not proof Bigfoot doesn't exist. What if he is having dinner with friends in a mobile home in Iowa? I can't even follow your reasoning on the unicorn thing. Seems to me you are adding a qualifier to allow you to prove there are not invisible unicorns.

  • lol...I watched the video anyway.

  • Here is how to talk to an atheist.

Treat them as a human being and listen to what they have to say. Respond to that with a honest answer and than ask them a question. This is also know as a discussion.

Matt Slick is just an asshole, regardless of his beliefs. He just uses Christianity as a way to cover his dickishness. Treat people like they are people and you will be able to deal with anyone anytime anywhere.

  • @thesparitan try that to this speaker...

  • Honestly, if you don't share your religious beliefs you won't be taken to task for it.

  • So, in a nutshell, you're advising people to be evasive... not very convincing.

  • Wow. "Now that there are no Atheists and only Christians here..."

  • Thank you!!

  • Not all Atheist or non-believers attack christians i personally have been attacked many times. And when they "ask us questions" alot of them are unkind about it. I have been attacked many times and alot of Christians think that we cant have an opinion other than what they believe. I agree as well that there are alot of Atheist troll that jump at people and if you guys dont like it. I would suggest calling off your own dogs first Most(not speaking for all) only attack when they feel threatened.

  • Why do I get the feeling a lot of athiests watched the video? I have always found it interesting that they seem to be drawn exclusively towards Christianity. Don't believe me? You can do a search for various Christian topics on youtube alone, and I gurantee an athiest troll will be lurking in the comments. I have no desire whatsoever to troll athiest's videos, forums, boards etc. Athiests, just admit you are specifically targeting Christianity, quit lying to yourselves.

  • @david84ss you're right. I am specifically targeting Christianity. Because it affects me.

  • @david84ss Atheists commonly target Christian videos as a form of catharsis. A lot of them were formerly Christian. It works the other way too; plenty of religious antagonists in atheist forums. Maybe not you in particular but it still happens.

  • I love that this guys main retort is "So?"

Thats awesome, encouraging intelluctual thinking there matt, you really put some critical thought into that huh?

    So?

    So What?

So, doesnt mean there is no god?

    So, why do you care?

Very mature, this reminds me of Idiocracy

  • this guy here is dumb as fuck yo..

  • @JosipOnDeck

So, just because he is a Christian, that means he's dumb?

  • @JosipOnDeck

    troll

  • exactly thats the only argument athiests ever have, that istheir critism, when you ask them to explain or prove aything they cant nd their hatred and ignorance is the only thing revealed, that says it all

  • You point out a lot of good guidelines for debate for theists and atheists alike. Swap the words "christian" and "atheist" in this video and the exact same things apply.

  • @BggProductions I must agree!

  • Is it just me or many of you also get this feeling this guy masturbates to kiddie porn?

  • lol

  • "If you're an atheist, turn this off and don't listen to this!"

You can't tell me what to do.....

  • Great as usual Matt!! Keep up the good work of God. Oh by the way, never mind the comments from the intellectual giants below, they know not what they write.

  • @qwertzman1 and you know? lol

  • what a stupid fuck

  • @disaacso Not in the slightest.

  • As an Atheist I can understand a lot of this. However this isn't how the majority of serious critics to Christianity attack, but when I was Mormon many people in high school would make claims like this because of lack of integrity or experience and this kind of arguing would work.

  • matt just showed us that he does not understand people (ether atheist or theist), by asking us atheists to switch off. anyone who does not know that people will more likely carry on watching if told that is just not worth taking any thing he says as truth and is only worth listening to for the fun of it

  • Maybe Matt could teach us how to talk to a fanatic Christian. That's more useful thing to learn.

  • Matt Slick told me that he likes to masturbate while he looks at Kiddie Porn! He says the younger the better.

  • Anyone want to put his methods to the test?

This goes for all religions and god beliefs. Here is my position on the matter.

    I don't believe you...

  • This guy has got to be an atheist. He is advocating that theists should use logic and reason when debating atheists about the existence of god. Since the atheist will also utilize logic and reason in their arguments against the existence of god, the winner of the debate will be the individual with the most logical and reasonable solution. Therefore, this guy is just setting up the theist for failure. Obviously, I'm an atheist, but this guy is being completely disingenuous.

  • this guy is a giant contradicting tumor...

  • I really wish The amazing athiest would rip you to shreds!

  • @grandtheftauto5555 hell yes!! lol

  • The burden of proof is on the atheists to prove there is no god? Wha???

  • @MsFlattire I'm a christian and I am so agree with you! That is not how youu talk to an atheist..

  • Athiests = There is no god because there is no proof.

Christians = FAITH that there is a God and that God is good.

    An endless tug of war.

  • ok im a atheist and some people are jack ass and give atheists a bad name, i dosent matter to me what religion you are but some atheists are arrogant and will freak out if you dont believe in what they say, all im saying is think about ALL of them not theone that tend to be more......arrogant- PS im only 13

  • @The0Elmo0Massacre I agree with you... The problem with Intellectuals and pseudo-Intellectuals is arrogance, and not even I am exempt from it. If we could only be humble for a moment the world would be a better place.

  • 2:00 - 4:00 (ish): an Atheist might well say that the God of the old testament is an evil being. This is usually in response to flat assertions from Christians that "God is love" or "God is all-loving and forgiving". The "meanness" of God is irrelevant--to an Atheist he is fictional. What prompts an Atheist to bring it up is when Christians attempt to claim ownership of morality via God. You can say "so?" all you want--if you are making a contradiction, you're going to get called on it.

  • 4:45 "You'd have to know all things to know if there is or is no God." I agree entirely. I take this to be a tacit admission that you, Matthew Slick, don't know if God exists because you don't know all things. I further think it would be great for all Christians to realize that they don't "know" there is a God any more than any Atheists "know" there isn't one.

  • 1:09 Overly simplified. Very few atheists actually say "there is no God." Most atheists are what Dawkins calls "defacto atheists" (and he counts himself among them)--this is essentially agnostic atheism and it goes something like this: I see no evidence for a divine being, and pending further evidence, I'm going to assume there is no such being. Please note no "assertion" about said being's existence has been made. The atheist simply doesn't believe your claims.

  • This Matt Slick guy has obviously never talked to an intelligent atheist. He probably just picks on teenagers who call themselves "atheists" just to piss off their parents. I, or any one of my atheist friends would tear this guy apart if he used any of these strategies in a face to face discussion.

  • I saw Matt Slick at a gym near where I live that I also go to called Genesis gym. He was heavilly flirting with one of the trainers there. He is married and he told the trainer he isn't. The next day I saw him at the gym again. I got there before him and he came in, flirted with the trainer again for nearly an hour and then left. He never touched any of the gym equipment unless you consider the trainer a piece of equipment. Naughty naughty Mr. Slick. You are a married man shame on you!!!!

  • ... how about you substantiate your assertion

  • A saw Matt Slick masturbating while looking at porn in a book store. He was doing it right where many people could see him. He has like a 2 inch penis. It was disgusting.

  • But my favorite has to be 4:45 rhetorical nonsense.

  • I love 2:00 its not a question of opinion its a question of morality many disgusting things can be made right if you treat them as an article of "faith"

I'm not here to prove that God is good or bad?

Ok why did you make the video then? Burden of proof is on your side Mr. Slick.

  • What a dick. Prove that god exists, don't ask me to prove he doesn't exist. Religion has caused much more harm than good.

  • I'm an atheist and I listened anyway, tee-hee

  • I live in Boise, Idaho which is near where Mr. Slick lives. The other day I was at a Hastings entertainment store and I could not believe what I saw. The great and perfect Matt Slick was looking at the Maxim and Playboy magazines they had. I walked right over a began looking at them as well. I said "Hello mr. Slick" and he very quickly left the store. It was very amusing.

  • I watched this clip even though I'm an Atheist.

I didn't expect much of interest for me but I'm very pleased with the message!

A little to much fixation on the concept of enemy though.

But if either "side" would take this advice to heart more often, a larger number of discussions would maybe lead at least to more understanding for each others opinions.

  • I believe in God and Jesus Christ because I simply ran out of reasons not to. Their presence is everywhere. Since I've BEEN an atheist, I have no problem talking with them. I can certainly understand why some people would not believe in God, what with the apparent state of the world and all, and people running around calling themselves Christians, who don't even know the meaning of the word. Good videos, Mr.Slick.

  • Cont'd.

Furthermore, theists really have to figure out how to think like an atheist before engaging in debate with one. This is why atheists almost always win in discussions with theists. An atheist is looking for the theist to prove that their god exists, the theist is looking for the atheist to prove that his or her god does not exist, and that's a failed and pointless dialog. If a theist can't say "My god exists because I have faith and for no other reason" then there's nothing left to say

  • By being a theist, you are making a claim that something supernatural exists. Atheists are only atheists at all IN RESPONSE to the claims of theists. No matter what you do, what you say, justifying your claim that a god exists will always be your top priority. If you can't do that, it's best for you not to try to talk to atheists at all, because we've heard it all before.

  • Overly simplified, coming from a guy who if you watch or listen to his debates against top atheists you will quickly see how out of his depth slick is,you actually feel for him,its that cringe-worthy. Check out his radio debate with Derick Sansone, you will see for yourself how much of a Charlaton Matt Slick is,tries to talk the talk but when backed up by people who really do,he clams up and pleads ignorance. just search for "common sense atheism 500+ debates" to listen to this joker choke!!!! = )

  • Keep up the great videos, they are very helpful.

  • Most atheists I know don't assert that there is no God. They just don't see a reason to believe in one. He clearly does not know many atheists.

I have my own standards to judge what is evil and what is not, and that is true regardless of whether God exists or not.

Matt Slick you should look up Euthyphro Dilemma.

"You have to know all things to know that there is no God."

I don't know all things, but I still don't believe in leprechauns. I could almost say I know that I know that there are none.

  • So you believe that the massacres of the Old Testament, carried out by God, are NOT evil? So what are you saying, that they're inconsequential, or even beneficial? What logical human being can say that a massacre of any people is GOOD? You're contradicting yourself. Your own Ten Commandments say killing is inherently evil. Don't ask me to substantiate my opinions until you can substantiate yours.

  • Oh God, forgive me! I am sorry I advocated for the equality of homosexuals and women! I am sorry that I believe that those in Africa can use simple protection to save their lives from AIDS! I am sorry that I believe in using our minds to our full potential those creating a better world for those who live here!

  • A belief in god is a sad thing. Poor fools wasting their lives to please someone who doesnt exist. and fuck you you fucking bible thumping cunt for making/ uploading such a fucking stupid video. fuck you

  • Very good video, this man is good!!, need more vids.

  • great teaching

  • Great video. I love it. More power to you Brother! NeedGOD com

  • Man, I love how this guy makes a video for christains ONLY and does give some helpful tips for a debate yet all these athiests ocme on here and hate.

  • I also have to say if I had any respect for matt slick before this video. There isn't a shred of respect now. Saying so to things that are objectionable in the bible is insulting. The bible supports slavery "So?" The bible says if a man rapes a woman she has to marry him "So?". So? Seriously fuck you. You are everything wrong with this world. If you read about someone being beaten and robbed the first thing you say shouldn't be "So?".

  • There is no evidence for the existance of god. "Ok, show me that then"

...You want me to show you no evidence?

  • You talk about how Athiests attack christians... Yet this video, and the majority of the rest of your videos, are basicaly verbally attacking, and denouncing us athiests.

Slick, You're nothing but a fear mongerer. I'm not trying to get you to abandon your faith. But most athiests aren't trying to convert you to athiesm. Why can't you give us the same respect. If you're so sure in your beliefs, then why must you antagonise us? Just pray, go about your buisness, and leave us alone, please.

  • @TheItalianCanadian I do so enjoy how "atheists" is a term likened to some type of slur in the video. I would like to be referred to as a human being, if you catch my drift. But, in accordance with your statement, I do have to say that I would simply LOVE to be left alone. I don't run around saying I don't believe in God but for some darn reason, the people that do believe in God just cannot help themselves in informing me about it...

  • @CandoLoses

    Exactly.

  • you don't see any Mister Rogers type of videos telling atheists how to deal with Christians.

  • so funny

  • 1) The burden of proof is not on atheists.

    2) 'So? What's the big deal about it?' is about as great as 'I know you are, but what am I?'

    3) Google Humanism. There's the answer to a lot of your questions.

    4) People always have holes in their arguments.

    5) There are no 'kinds' of atheists. Atheism is a property, not a group.

    6) Although Scientific method does not provide all answers, how many problems that have been solved throughout history have been answered by magic or the supernatural?

  • @skarloeyable "4) People always have holes in their arguments."

So finding the whole in a Christian's argument doesn't automatically disprove Christianity. It just means it wasn't explained well enough.

    .

  • Childish.

  • I´m an agnostic and not a Christian but I like this video. Often when I discuss with Christians the level of the discussion gets to a really low level ending up with them getting to aggressive because they don´t want to listen to arguments against them. (I should tell that I´m not one of them atheists who thinks Christians are a bunch of idiots because my wife and her family is Christians) With these little techniques the discussions would get a whole lot more intresting. So thanks I guess. ;)

  • chilimaan hells locked from the inside.

  • @youngsisko But they still have internet service?

  • why does god make it so, so, hard to see he is real, if he is? if god is real and i go to hell im guna want an apology from god because he made it outstandingly hard to see he's real...so for that, i woulden't want heven he can keep it...

  • Why so many dislikes for this video? What's wrong with the idea that Atheists should be -as Matt points out- intellectually honest? We really shouldn't say there is no God, because we don't know. What we do know is there's an overwhelming amount of neurological, psychological, sociological, and historical data that should make any intellectually honest person extremely skeptical of any religious claims.

  • Matt, the only reason why atheists say there is no god is because theists, all theists of all religions failed to provide evidence of existence of a god, whomever that god might be. You assert that someone exists and as you say you should provide data, most of us began being theists. But after seeing no evidence we changed.

  • What?.....What!? Oh I can't physically prove god isn't real, so that automatically makes god real? That is a fallacy. I can say the same thing about the tooth fairy and santa clause

  • @flame0731 Hey! santa is real, i got a gi joe from him, along with many guns to maw down theists.

  • Yeah, I guess its not a big deal the biblical god murdered all life during the flood ( including children and babies ). Can any theist answer me how could god create vegetation before the sun? Why god called the moon a light? What criteria do you use for metaphors? What criteria do you use for miracles? Why would god hve a raped virgin stoned to death for not crying out to the people?

  • Yeah, you understand the burden of proof when it comes to dealing with positive atheists, but most atheists (myself included) are negative atheists who don't feel that the burden of proof has been met by the theists. And when many Christians assert that their god is good and perfect, the problem of the OT does become relevant because how is he 'good' if he goes around ordering the most detestable acts that would bring him before the ICC or ICJ in Den Hague, Netherlands?

  • retard

  • What a moron.

  • I am a atheists by choice! I watched your video not to bash for who you worship or what you think is ture, but I must say the one great point you made is that not any one person will ever have all the answers to everything! There is the unknown and that is not a debate! But to have a video to show people of faith how do deal with someone that doesn't is not the right way to go about things! I watched this video to listen to what you had to say! Know why? I have a open mind! U should also!

  • Dude, a person who says there is no proof of the existence of *god* is "agnostic".

  • LOL Slick.

I think killing any 2 year old because the city they live in is filled with evil people is, in itself, evil.

If the bible is an accurate description of the quality of god's character, then I assert god is an evil being. Even if the Christian god were real, I would still refuse to worship such a being. I'd rather be sent to his hell than be his sycophant. I'd smoke doobies with the devil and we'd talk smack about how much of a punk bitch god is for killing 2 year olds.

  • @Damarcast You REALLY think the devil is going to care about the killing of 2 year olds??/ lol. You have somethings to learn my friend.. God Bless

  • @Ronniecob40

You really think the devil exists? You haven't learned anything my delsuional Slick cheerleader.

  • @Killer0fTheSun Oh I know he exists. While in prison i actually met an inmate that was possessed by a demon. He started rambling off about my childhood, which he could not have know about, and his eyes turned ALL black. I have no doubts to the existence of the devil and neither should you.

  • @Ronniecob40

Of course you did....you stupid fuckin idiot

  • @Killer0fTheSun Now thats the kind of reply i would expect from an Atheist, thankyou for reaffirming the the presuppostion everyone has of you. You never fail to disappoint and verify where you get your morals from.

    God Bless You.

  • @Killer0fTheSun My God is Jesus Christ and your god is Hitchens, only thing is my God was raised from the dead and your god is dying from cancer, but I will still pray for him regardless of what he feels about Christians.

    God Bless

  • @Ronniecob40

This just goes to show you how fuckin retarded you are...but then again you do believe in fictional characters. I hope you die form cancer...and slowly.

  • @Killer0fTheSun Now is that very nice? But then again I Am talking to an Atheist so I should not be suprised, but if I do, I know where it is I Am going, can u say the same. I Hope someday u can release your anger and replace it with Jesus, if He can release me from addiction and give me a new life after prison, He can do the same with you..

    God Bless You

  • @Ronniecob40

I know where your going too.....in a grave. You dont deserve to be treated nicely....you didnt EARN respect.

  • @Killer0fTheSun I Am starting to sense hostility from you, and for what? Does not matter how you feel about me, I still care for you and your well being and eternal salvation. I undertsand your anger, I had it as well at one time, which is why I abused Oxycontin. Jesus freed me from it and He can free you from your anger to. I Hope and Pray that some day, you will release your anger to Him and set yourself free. God Bless You

  • @Ronniecob40

Why would i ever worship a half naked feminine like figure who is stapled to a piece of wood?

  • @Killer0fTheSun Because He can free you from whatever you are suffering from, pain, anger, depression. I suffered from Social Anxiety, ADD and Depression for most of my life, not to mention drug abuse. i lost my wife and kids, and He has freed me from ALL that and He is repairing my relationship with my family. In just over a year, i went from an ex con and having NOTHING, to being healed of everything and getting my life back. I Am now in college. If He can fix me, He can fix anything 4 You

  • @Ronniecob40

Yet this fictional god of the bible itself is jealous, angry, petty and has ADHD itself.....why do you worship such a stupid retarded fictional being is beyond me.

  • @Killer0fTheSun Because He proved to me He is real, by healing me and by Literally speaking the words'Trust Me' while I was in prison. There is no way all these things that happened to me r a coincindence after I asked Him for forgiveness. I do not have that kind of luck. All you need to do is say, Jesus, if You are real, please prove it to me, I want to know. And be sincere, and He will move in your life and u will have NO DOUBT that it was Him, I promise. It will change your life. God Bless You

  • @Ronniecob40

Yeah it seems every idiot in prison has god or found god....maybe jesus shouldnt be such a fuckin career criminal if he is there all the time. Stupid retard.

  • @Killer0fTheSun Sometimes people need to hit bottom, before they realize there need for Him. Jesus is everywhere, but He will not come into your life until you ask Him to. Everyone makes mistakes, I just made A lot more then most, but He still forgave me and my life has been blessed since. Paul, who wrote 13 books in the New Testament use to murder Christians, if Jesus can forgive him, He will forgive ANYONE.I Am living proof He is real, just ask anyone that knew before.

    God Bless You

  • @Ronniecob40

He is real in your mind only...thats how delusions work.

  • @Killer0fTheSun God is real in the minds of 90% of the world, you are the minority. If i had to live by Faith that Jesus is real(even though I Do not) i would rather live as Jesus commanded, then with the hatred in my heart that so many Atheists have. This is not an assumption, I only need to read ANY of the posts to verify this. So if you enjoy living with that much hatred and anger, then I guess that is your choice. Me, i no longer wish to live that way, life is to short to be miserable.

  • @Ronniecob40

Most of the world also believed the world was flat. Hatred and anger? I leave that to the literal bible believers and quran believers as well. You condemn, judge and insult those who dont believe just as you. I am an anti-theist.....and i am glad i am. Because i would be like you...a delusional nut job who thnks an invisible man exists in the sky and needs to be worshipped forever....sounds like hell to me.

  • @Killer0fTheSun Well the reason they believed that had NOTHING to do with the Bible. I do not condemn anyone. I personally have a Love for atheists or anti-theists. Have i insulted you? If you read back it seems u are doing most of the insulting. If you were like I Am now, you would no longer have that anger in you, but u refuse to let it go, and that is unfortunate, because u will spend your life hating anyone that does not share anger. If thats what u call living, i would rather die. God Bless

  • @Ronniecob40 And if that pointless battle of "wits" is over...

So let's try some competing claims. You claim Jesus came to you in prison and healed you of something. Perhaps meth addiction. Maybe a cold. Broken arm. Who knows?

I'll claim Marduk came to me in Tahiti and healed me of being quadriplegic. Because of that you should believe me? I doubt that would be sufficient to convince you.

How could we sort that out?

  • @chilimaan Jesus healed me of an Oxycontin addiction, and a host of other bad habits and si repairing my Marriage which I thought was over. I Am in college and I now have more money then I did before, all within a year of giving my life to Jesus. Well did Marduk actually do that for you? My claims are not based on fiction, but fact. I was worse then most of the atheists in this place at one time. Now I have a Peace and Love in me that was not there before. Call it what U want, Jesus is REAL.

  • @Ronniecob40 Right. I understand your claim. Congratulations on your achievements. I know people who "gave their lives to Jesus" and then robbed banks. Does that invalidate Christianity? Hardly.

The question is: Is there any testable claim for either story? Is there anything about belief in Jesus that the rest of us can see; or not? Do you glow, can you fly, can you walk through walls? Should you be able to?

  • @chilimaan No it does not invalidate it, Christians still sin, but if he was a true Christian, he almost immediately repented and asked for forgiveness. If you knew me before, and now, you would have NO DOUBT that something miraculous happened in my life. Can science measure the tranformation in my life in such a short period of time, No, but people that know me can most clearly can observe it and know for a fact that something happened, and that it was not attrbuted to anything I did personally.

  • @Ronniecob40 A "true" Christian. What would that be? Are you one of the kinds of Christian that believes in an inerrant bible? If not there's no way to find out if you're a true Christian other than just to accept that you are.

  • @chilimaan The way you know you are a True Christian, is because you now have a Peace and Joy in you that you can feel that was not there before. I know i did not have it before, thats why I tried to fill that hole with Oxycontin. That Peace and Joy, coupled with the rapid transformation in my life, well lets just say an atheist would probably attribute it to VERY GOOD LUCK, but I know where it came from, because I can feel Jesus chiseling away all my bad habits and immoral thoughts. God Bless U

  • @Ronniecob40 Well, thanks Ronnie. I think it's probably the result of hard work and facing up to your problems. But I was really wondering if you thought the bible had anything to do with anything. Specifically, do you think it's true and accurate? Or are you the sort of Christian who has a "personal relationship" with God/Jesus/Whatever and doesn't much care what the bible says? And, why do you keep using that word 'atheist"? Why not simply 'unbeliever'?

  • @chilimaan I tried EVERYTHING to get off Oxycontin, including 4 stays in inpatient rehabs. I lost my wife and children and most of my family because I could not stop. I did 2 prison sentes = 5 years. Not till I gave my life to Jesus did the addiction go away I believe EVERYTHING the Bible says. I may not understand why God did somethings, but I believe He did it for a reason Now before I do something, i ask would Jesus say or do this B 4 I do it and ask myself if it would glofify Him by doing it

  • @Ronniecob40 Then you must think you can walk on water, raise the dead and pretty much anything else. John 14:12

Unless you can; you're an unbeliever.

    Have a nice day.

  • @chilimaan Do I believe that it is possible, yes, if Jesus willed it to be,but He was saying not that we would walk on water or raise the dead as being better works, but carrying the Gospel and what He did on the cross to the lost as being of greater works. I have heard and seen some amazing things done in the name of Jesus. He actually appeared to my mother on Christmas morning. He healed my arm the night before i went into rehab, i lost the use of my wrist from shooting up Oxycontin

  • @Ronniecob40 I've heard those excuses before. They're not true. There are multiple places which indicate you can perform miracles if you believe. Either you do believe, and therefor can perform miracles; or you don't believe, and therefor can't.

But let's not try to slip around it and pretend it doesn't say what it says. Okay?

  • @chilimaan Thats actually what the verse means. Believers are given different gifts. Some have the power to heal, some to speak in tongues and some other gifts. Jesus said in the end times they would become more prevalent. I have seen people with these gifts.People with these gifts though have to be free of living in sin though. you cannot go to church on sunday and act like a Christian, then live as the rest of the world does the rest of the week and expect to have some miraculous gift

  • @Ronniecob40 The only gift I'm aware of is the one where you pretend the bible says what it doesn't say. And that's not a "gift". Anyone can lie. The problem you have there Ronnie is that we can all read for ourselves. There's nothing about the gospel in that entire chapter. We don't have to take your word for it. Jesus never says different people will have different gifts. He says you can do anything Matt. 17:20 and that your failure to do so is from unbelief.

  • @chilimaan Matt 17:20 is talking about how nothing is impossible with Jesus. It does not say that you will be able to fly or read peoples minds, its says there is no mountain in your life that Jesus cannot help you climb over. As far as spiritual gifts, read 1 Corinthians 12: 1-11, if you believe I Am lying about spiritual gifts. I wish people would actually know what a passage was actually referring to, before they start spitting them out and placing there own meanings behind them..God Bless

  • @Ronniecob40 Well thanks again Ronnie.

Your lie about the meaning of Mathew chapter 17 is so transparent it makes me wonder if you've ever even looked at the chapter. Why would you think I can't read it for myself?

And let me clarify: Referencing Paul to refute Jesus is a no win situation. Jesus did not say every one had different gifts. He said you could do anything Mark 11:22-24, Matt. 18:19, 21:21-22 and others.

Referencing Paul just demonstrates a contradiction.

    Thanks.

  • @chilimaan All of the above scriptures you refer to have Jesus saying with Faith, you can move mountains. Not literal mountains, He is refering to mountains a person faces in their life. If believe in Jesus, you can overcome ANY obstacle(Mountain). I Am studying to be a youth pastor, I have numerous study Bibles that explain the passages and there meanings. I have checked everyone, and that is what the passages you refer to mean, not having special powers no one else has.

  • @Ronniecob40 That's a pathetic lie. I'm not saying you originated the lie; but it IS a lie and you know it. There is nothing; absolutely nothing to indicate what you say is true.

In Luke 9:54 James and John apparently can call down fire from heaven to kill anyone who annoys them. Of course you wouldn't say that was literal fire...

That Christians before you have lied about this is no excuse. You are a liar Ronnie.

  • @chilimaan I am sorry you feel that way. You seem to have read your Bible, now you just need to put the meanings of the verses in the proper perspective. The discples had been given power to do certain things, believers today are not given those same gifts. The discples were given them to prove what they were saying about Jesus was true, to prove He was not just some false prophet claiming to be the long awaited Messiah. I sent you a link to prove what i Am saying is true about Matt 17:20.

  • @chilimaan Also, when Jesus says when 2 or more come together and pray, it will be done for them. This means when you pray according to Gods will. You think if U and a friend got together and prayed for a million dollars to blow on hookers, that would be according to Gods will? When you asked your parents for something that was not good for you, did they give it to you? When U pray according to His Will and Word, yes it will be done for you. Like when i prayed for my marriage to be healed.

  • @Ronniecob40 I guess a Christian might think that was something worthwhile to pray for. I might want to raise the dead, heal the sick, give knowledge of the truth to those who thought I was wrong (or myself). Mostly I'd want to demonstrate that what I was saying was real. But at least you're admitting that what it says is unconditional.

  • @chilimaan. God (Jesus) used language that we could understand, and He used it in a context to explain something that his discples would understand. I know people who have the gift to heal and speak in tongues. But most of the gifts today are not prevalent, mainly because we are to live by Faith. Jesus and His discples had to perform miracles to prove they were really who they said they were. He will not give U anything u want if its not according to His will, just what u need .. God Bless You

  • @Ronniecob40 Thanks again Ronnie.

No. John 14:12-14 are extremely explicit. ANYTHING that would bring glory to God (or, "the Father" rather) will be done for those who believe. There's nothing about his will. The point of the promise is that the believer's wants will be met. It doesn't say that one in a million will have this. It says whoever believes will have it.

If the text doesn't mean what it says there's no need to read it at all.

  • @chilimaan Like I have said, you cannot do any greater works then raising the dead. Jesus was saying that they would do greater works by spreading the Word of what He did on the cross, by which people would be saved and avoid hell. That is a great work. Christians are given gifts to do just that. I Am glad to hear you have read your Bible, I myself have read it quite extensively, and have learned what the passages actually mean. Some have a deeper meaning then what i is actually said

  • @Ronniecob40 What you mean is they should have a DIFFERENT meaning than what is actually said. You don't have to be a scholar to get where you want when the standard of what's meant doesn't involve the actual text. You just make up whatever you want and claim that's what it meant. Basically; you would have me believe God was too stupid to get it right and depends on guys like you to set the record straight. It would have read different if YOU wrote it.

    But you didn't.

  • @chilimaan No actually God had the Bible written in a way that people who only look to mock it or ridicule it would not understand it or grasp the true meanings of it,1 Corinthians 2:14. You can claim whatever meanings you want out of verses, but until you have Gods Spirit in you, you will never understand the TRUE meanings of the Bible. Its unfortuante to, because you have clearly read your Bible, but choose to draw you own conclusions on what verses say, instead of what they actually mean.

  • @Ronniecob40 Referencing Paul to refute Jesus is not going to help, Ronnie. You've already demonstrated you understand they have the same meaning as I say. You're now resorting to the desperate tactic of claiming that it takes SPECIAL POWERS such as those referenced in John 14:12 in order to dispute the meaning of John 14:12 which says you'll have special powers if you believe!

And. You've explicitly stated the purpose of the bible is to make God look stupid!

    (continued)

  • @Ronniecob40 In addition; the pathetic drivel Paul is putting out isn't even a refutation of Jesus' words. Paul is referencing SPIRITUAL "truths" in the second chapter. That is to say the rewards the true believer will receive AFTER the corporeal existence. The refutation you want is in the first chapter: 1 Cor. 1:20-25

And you're going to teach OTHERS? I think you need to do some learning first.

What you're referencing is a biblical contradiction. Thanks. But I didn't need the help.

  • @chilimaan Right here, and all scholars agree with this, so if you disagree, I am going to have to assume either your a Bible scholar with a lot more knowledge then these people, or just argumentatve.

    gotquestions. org/greater-works.html

  • @Ronniecob40 Ronnie. Even this article you reference says that "most" not "all" scholars agree (3rd paragraph). That means some DO disagree. Now, I'm not referencing any "scholars" from whatever bible schools they'd recognize. I'm just saying what EVEN THEY recognize: It says explicitly that believers will do greater works than he did. It does not say something else. It doesn't give you any out. They; and you; simply don't believe what it says. And you ALL admit it! And STILL claim to believe!

  • @Ronniecob40 Right here explains the passages you refered to..

    .gotquestions. org/ faith-move-mountains.html

  • @Ronniecob40 This is about as pathetic as it gets Ronnie. Open your eyes and see. The article blows a lot of smoke, then claims with no evidence that it was just a metaphor. So add in Luke 17:6; was that a common expression of the day? No. It's explicit. Faith causes physical, not metaphorical results.

Yes, I've done some bible reading. I strongly recommend it. Especially for Christians.

  • @chilimaan God has opened my eyes. Jesus was not saying that that we could literally move a mountain by believing, but by moving Mountainous problems that we are facing. That it what the verses mean, if you do not want to believe it, thats your choice. Thats why some atheists have so many problems with the Bible, they either take verses out of context, or they do not search out what the verse is actually trying to convey. When U give your life to Jesus, the Bible starts to make sense.God Bless U

  • @Ronniecob40 Thanks again Ronnie.

And false again. Jesus was actually saying exactly that. That's what the text actually says. The parallel text about the mulberry tree in Luke 17:6 makes the article you referenced look exactly like the pathetic lie it is.

Yes; I can take verses out of context. Putting them in context doesn't help you any; it makes it worse. You've long since resorted to flat out claiming it doesn't mean what it says. In short; that you don't believe what it says. Like-me.

  • @chilimaan Alright. let me know when U can will an actual Mountain to move. I Am sorry U do not believe me. I guess the part where Jesus said U must hate your parents and family when it comes to me was also literal to then, instead of actual meaning that you must put me first in your life, then your parents and family. Some verses are to be taken literal in the Bible, and some have a different meaning. Jesus sometimes spoke in parables, to confuse the Pharisees and sometimes analogies.

  • @Ronniecob40 No Ronnie. I'm not a believer. That's the whole point. I don't have faith. Yeah, Jesus says that; and lots of other crazy stuff too. And the point you're making is that I'd have to be crazy to believe what he says. So it must not have meant what he said. But... and here's the thing; he DID say those things. And that is what those things mean. And so, you're saying he was nuts to say those things and you'll make up your own version.

  • @chilimaan No Jesus do not say anything crazy, its the way some of it was translated from Aramaic and Hebrew. No the point I Am making is that you would have to be crazy NOT TO BELIEVE it.IYou have read your Bible, now I just pray that the Holy Spirit will open your eyes and Heart to His Word

I am not going to argue about it. You are free to except whatever definition you like, I will go with what the Spirit of God has told me in meant.

    God Bless You..Ronnie

  • @Ronniecob40 Thanks again Ronnie.

Okay. So you believe? Then show us the magic powers a believer has. The magic power you've claimed is the ability to tell what it "really" means.

Crazy? Sure I am. That's why I don't have the ability to walk on water or raise the dead. Why is it that you don't?

  • @Ronniecob40allah healed me of an Oxycontin addiction, and a host of other bad habits and si repairing my Marriage which I thought was over. I Am in college and I now have more money then I did before, all within a year of giving my life to allah. Well did Marduk actually do that for you? My claims are not based on fiction, but fact. I was worse then most of the atheists in this place at one time. Now I have a Peace and Love in me that was not there before. Call it what U want, allah is REAL

  • @youwillbesaved Jesus healed me of an Oxycontin addiction, and a host of other bad habits and is repairing my Marriage which I thought was over. • @youwillbesaved I see you have nothing better to do with your time, probably because you do not have a job, but thats OK, Jesus will forgive you, but only ask Him.. God Bless You
