depending on your version (ex. 1.1.3 or 1.1.4 or 2.0) it may vary... try alpine for one and root for the other....and mobile for one and alpine for the other it should be one of those...

Hrm.. After opening the .m4r file back into Itunes again it appears in ringtones but, when i try to sync it it just says "Filename" couldn't be copied to the Iphone-unit, "Iphoneunit" cannot be played on this iPhone. Any idea what'sup? (I have Itunes version 7.4.1.2 and 1.1.4 on my iPhone.)
I assume your not jailbroken but it should work if you did the hide extension for known file types unchecked and synced it correctly in itunes. Try the process again perhap it is just the tone...
hey mike did u know u could make slide to unlock sounds?eazy just go to itunes advanced change AAC format to AIFF than take a part of the song 30 seconds than go to customize/Audio files than drag and drop the song after that go to customize app sound system u should see the song there.the sounds are AiFF format so it should work i got 5 off them when i slide my iphone to unlock all you hear is boom!! boom!! tight right anyways just wanted to share that....1
cool but i already knew this i got like 20 ringtones on my iphone there is alot of ways doing ringtones m4r or just ssh winscp navigate to ringtones than drop da song you don't have to make it 30 seconds it plays the whole song as a ringtone..thanks anyways i was going to make a video..i didn't mean anything by saying i already knew this just letting u know is crazy though cause when you ssh u could do anything to your iphone..but thanks googd looking out mad props on the video....1
Winscp is a program used to ssh into your iphone/ipod touch. 1.Download it 2.You must have open ssh and boss tools downloaded on your ipod. 3.Once everything is downloaded go to boss tools and turn on (EDGE,WIFI,BLUETOOTH,SSH) make sure they are all blue and in ON position. 4. Then plug in your phone and run WINSCP. 5. for WINSCP login it is Username:ROOT Password:ALPINE (i dont think they are case sensitive)the Hostname is the IP ADRESS of your wifi connection-(SETTINGS>WI-FI>click blue arrow)

if you look in installer there should be fix's for it, for mine i just installed a bunch (some that worked and others that didnt :(....) and then used the tightest one.... someone or somewhere there is probably a video or how to on the internet... goodluck
cuz i can only import 1 usuable ringtone, the second one will just be a duplicate of the first one even though on itunes it says that they are 2 different ringtones ...can u help me?

rewatch the first minute or min. 30 seconds and follow the directions.....
1)Start>Control Panel
2)Folder Options>Tab:"View"
3)Uncheck: "Hide extensions for knowfile types"
...and that should do it...

ya its a lot easier to do it through ssh ( i used winscp but u can use cuteftp or any others) and you can do it as many times as you want...
