  • "That 60 million dollars is coming out of your paycheck!!"

  • That was the result of one numbnuts technician not connecting the fly-by-wire data wires correctly. So it was literally like commanding pitch was instead commanding roll, and vice versa. Now they're like color coded, or something, so they don't screw it up. The biggest problem, having talked to some of the people working on them, is the private contractors and a culture of profit-maximizing and corner-cutting. It has nothing to do with the V-22 design being flawed.

  • The drunk pilot....

  • the Osprey is the biggest waste of money and was fucking stupid.

  • Comment removed

  • @XBLChubbySkunk

right, this is shit and its completely useless

  • @XBLChubbySkunk Your joking right? The osprey was a massive success! It can do alot more then a Chinook can and is much more particle. It has more guns, can go faster, can carry more.

  • @Pengythetux222

Oh and don't forget, it's gotten more Marines killed :)

  • @XBLChubbySkunk Conventional helos have had higher fatalities per flight than the V-22.

  • Wow! The V-22 soundtrack sounds just like that Hughes 300 mishap! Reciprocating engine sound vs jet multi-engine sound.....

  • modern warfare 3 :D

  • psshhhh, I could do that...

  • tax money well spent

  • im selecting juggernaut next time

  • halo noobs

  • They actually stole this plan from the russians. Russia had the kamov ka-22 way back in 1959!

  • @JISINSANE3 The KA-22 isn't a tilt rotor aircraft. It's basically just a helicopter with wings.

  • oh shit!

  • That shit don't get it,all of this high tech, supposedly innovative thinking. Well,I don't have a damn PHD in aerodynamics and engineering, but who ever does have one and was responsible for designing the Osprey should have just as well got his degree from the back of a cereal box than waste his time going to M.I.T. or where ever he got it.

  • Love the sound of the crash truck rolling out!!!

  • Holy ⓢⓗⓘⓣ

  • mw3 plane in trailer!!!

  • @CODnoobandnailer No shit Sherlock.

  • @prestb Go fuck yourself then die in a hole you used asswipe

  • @CODnoobandnailer You look mad. What's wrong, did your parents kick you out of their basement yesterday? No more CoD?

  • @prestb Stalkin me bro? u look mad. u on ur period? want me 2 send u a tampon?

  • @CODnoobandnailer So first some little kid types a comment that makes no sense, and now he has some older kid typing comments for him? Hah, this just gets better and better.

  • MADE in IRELAND!,......................what a stupid design! and of course as seen on vid very safe+ reliable!,

  • @raymondrayban did you know that this was one of the first test flights of the osprey idiot

now the american army has many of them and they are very good

  • @xam107

What's funny is the ARMY doesn't even have the 22, Only the USAF,USMC,USN have it.. BUT, you were right on it being one of first tests flights. it's actually got the fewest crash ratings out of all the aircraft used today.

  • By the official reckoning of the Marine Corps and the Naval Safety Center, the V-22 has a Class A flight mishap rate of 1.28 per 100,000 flight hours over the last 10 years, compared to a Class A flight mishap rate of 2.6 per 100,000 flight hours for all Marine aircraft over the same period.

  • Like we say in arma 2, if you can't fly fuck off.

  • The utter stupidity and ignorance of some of the people posting on aviation videos never ceases to amaze me

  • fucking idiots...

  • i hadnt realized they had operational models back in 1991. thats crazy

  • @MrKyleSchick Semi operational

    :D

  • @Sicj its flying its operational to me. that requires full avionics and systems. maybe not cryto but still close enough.

  • There goes a million dollars....

  • @unknownguy235

More like 67 million to be exact...

  • Cunningly combining a helicopter and an air plane to get the worst aspects of both.

  • Its improved alot in the past 20 years

  • These overpriced (was it $55 billion or $70 billion) jokes contributed to the US's massive budget deficit. Today they are 100% fly by wire & still a lousy concept.

The builders set out to prove that anything was possible if you threw obscene amounts of money at the problem & they succeeded beyond their wildest dreams.

  • Holy shit, did they survive?.

  • in USA Bush is flying helicopters with RC!

  • Cuts grass AND assphalt !

  • My taxes just went up again.

  • At the first hit the pilot should have put it on the ground when he had the chance. Instead, he tried to continue flying and lost the whole thing.

  • this things gonna drop ur care pakage in modern warfare 3 so u better learn to drive em!

  • For all of you who dont know what this is.

This was aircraft #5 and the wiring was reversed for the flight controls. Nobody was killed or injured. Only a minor scratch to the leg for the pilot. It was still a prototype under FSD.

  • did he die????

  • Tax dollars hard at work.

  • EH, I don't think they thought this aircraft all the way out...One rotor goes out and you're fucked.

  • Who the hell hit the big red button

  • Overcompensating D:

  • Sounds like a muscle car when it crashes.

  • Wait, this is from 1991? Jeez, I didn't even know the Osprey program was even proposed yet, much less in development! No wonder it crashed, it wasn't even fully tuned yet!

  • The Osprey is garbage.

  • lol n00b learn to fly...or else select another game !

  • Canada_goes_to_war.avi

  • @myusername0wns fuck you, that was a US v-22 canada doesn't have them

  • that was not a waste of $67million

  • @emmetgb you're right...thank god it was a $35 mil mass produced prototype

  • @emmetgb Damn strait it wasn't a waste, the US Marine Corps has had remarkable success with the Ospreys since they've worked the bugs out.

  • @oOChaosWolfOo it's called a joke, you should look it up.

  • @emmetgb A joke? Mother fucker you got to be kidding me. People might have died in that crash, and it was for the greater good of the country, not so slimy faggots like you can make economic jokes about the fucking thing.

  • @oOChaosWolfOo "For the greater good of the country"? And you call the other guy a slimy faggot.......

  • @oOChaosWolfOo no one died, and yes it was a waste because look at what happened.

  • @emmetgb That's like saying a soldier who was killed in WWII is a waste of human life, but very obviously it's not because Look At What Happened. We aren't speaking German and our jews are still alive. That VTOL has transported me and my Marines a number of times, and I'm damn glad shit mistakes like that happened so that we are now able to have a safe and effective bird that will bring my men into places nobody else wants to go and that no other aircraft will take them.

  • @oOChaosWolfOo ok 1.i'm irish

    2. i'm not an american.

    3. even if you had lost ww2 you would still be speaking english.

and there are two type's of people on youtube.

    1. a normal person, who make's a joke.

    2. a normal person who troll's on other people's comment's.

think which one am i and which one is yours?

  • @emmetgb I'm not precisely following your logic. His statement of calling anyone a slimy faggot might be out of line, but, it is for the greater good of the country if that crash taught us something about the design or effectiveness of the aircraft that could be corrected and was corrected before adoption of the design. Keep in mind that we just saw video of a test flight. This wasn't post-manufacturing/delivery order to the Corps, this was testing.

Given that, it's not a waste.

  • @Tora1337 wow.. people much such fuss over a 7 word comment.

  • I hope the pilot is alright.

  • if it looks a pile of shit chances are it is

  • seakings are better then ^^

  • well i can see what the problem is...yogi bear is hanging onto the bottom of the left engine...causing off balance

  • I'm not really sure why we reinvented the wheel with the V-22.

We had this technology completely functioning and workable in 1965 in the LTV XC-142, and also in the Canadair CL-84. Of course back then, the military didn't foresee an urgent need for a VTOL that had an extended combat radius. So here we are 40 years later reinventing the wheel at the cost of billions of taxpayer dollars.

I mean, why use something we've already developed when you could start from scratch and charge more.

  • was the pilot ok?

  • This is still a very kickass helicopter

  • BTW, It sure is cool-looking

  • The Osprey. What a piece of shit.

  • @TheLackofattack Excuse me? The Osprey is the safest aircraft in the USMC's arsenal, and has half the accident rate the other helicopters do.

It's a tremendous aircraft in every way.

  • @scarface71795 You've got to be kidding me. The only reason that is has low accident rating is because they hardly use it. It's an expensive design and it is dangerous. It will never have the track record of the Chinook. I stand by my statement.

  • @TheLackofattack It's calculated by accidents per flight hour, V-22's flying in Afghanistan has already hit 100,000 flight hours and was noted as being "the safest airplane, or close to the safest airplane” in the Marine Corps Arsenal, the pilots who are flying it love it, it can lift more, go faster, and go farther than almost every other helicopter, and it's only getting better with upgrades, not to mention it can act as a gunship with the RWS attached to the front.

    Why do you hate it?

  • @scarface71795 Simple reasons

I dislike it since its been in development for decades now. Only recently they've come into major use in Iraq. The cost of its development has been astronomical. The idea of two rotors horizontally is flawed anyways. The sheer amount of electronics and mechanical parts to required to control the ship make it undesirable in the field. Not to mention I've heard that the unload time for personnel is much longer than the Chinook, making it dangerous for ground troops.

  • @TheLackofattack Alright, I'll agree that it's been a huge money hole, but it's pretty much a whole new type of aircraft, of course it'll take a while to be developed, what if we had never put all that money into the helicopter,? This is the first line in a lot of tilt rotors coming, of course there'll be problems, the Chinook is a great air-frame, no doubt, but it's getting old, we need to update, the US Military wanted it, so it has to be worth something.

  • @scarface71795 For its costs though, I demand a long shelf life. I think it will though. If all the kinks can be worked out, it may be a decent platform for the next sixty years. Its just all those parts required to run the damn thing. If i was a flight tech in Iraq, I sure as hell would rather work on the simple Chinook. But nice to know they worked out the safety issues now and over time the costs per unit should go down. I'm actually glad that it looks like its finally working out.

  • @scarface71795 the v22 is already based at mir mare and in iraq

  • @kirbyroxy Uh, I know.

  • @scarface71795 just telling you

  • @kirbyroxy Alright then.

  • @TheLackofattack Plus, think of what we'll have in the next twenty to thirty years if we build onto the airframe? Think about it, the V-22 already is a tremendous air frame, and it's already being upgraded to do even more, like I said, if the Marines didn't want it or find it acceptable, they wouldn't use it or replace it, US Special Operations Command uses it, and they love it, the AF loves it, the Marines love it, it's already had successful deployments, it goes good with what the Marines have

  • @scarface71795 Well, I like the Chinook. Helicopters as a concept are a flimsy enough form of flight. The Chinook has been around since the early sixties and has an excellent track record. But I guess that the military will do what they think is best, and If it does indeed have overwhelming support in the field, I'll support it.

  • @TheLackofattack That's true, the Chinook has been the backbone of the Marines for a while, hopefully the Osprey will be just as good, hopefully better.

Another good thing about the Osprey is it has the speed to keep up with the AV-8B, which is really good when you want to be escorted, it's also good for rapid reaction, as seen in Libya where two V-22s and two Harriers operating off the USS Kiersarge, when it saved a downed pilot.

  • @scarface71795 Sea Knight mate, The Marines utilized the CH-46, the CH-47 Chinook is fielded by the Army. In addition to the Ospreys exceptional speed and innovation, I believe they are improving its defense capabilities by designing either a chin turret under the cockpit or an under-belly turret.

  • @MP7A3 Whoops, my bad.

  • @scarface71795 Its all good man, I'm just glad to be conversing with an individual who sees and supports the potential and impressive functionality of Osprey, every aircraft has its critiques, people said the Ch-53 pavelow was a rushed and poorly designed machined! Now look at it, its the work horse of the Marine Corps, and for along time the Airforce.

  • @MP7A3 Yeah, i'm really hoping the Navy adopts it too, it would work extremely well with the Carriers in my opinion, allowing for rapid delivery and CasEvac off the carrier.

Plus you've finally got a Helo that can keep up with the SuperHornets, that's always good.

Just so you know though, the CH-53 is the Sea Stallion, the MH-53(Which's been retired and ironically replaced by the Osprey) is the Pave Low

  • @scarface71795 Resident evil afterlife... did you see it Wesker slings shots it off the Arcadia

  • @scarface71795 Hopefully the Navy will, and thank you for correcting me, I honestly didn't know the difference lol, Ah see there we go, we both learned something new! :D

  • @scarface71795 I TO WOULD LIKE TO SEA MY FELLOW NAVY AIRDALES ADOPT THIS V-22 ROTORCRAFT INTO THEIR SQUADRENS. BUT KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS IS NOT A "HELO"! "HELO" IS MILITARY JARGIN FER "HELICOPTER"! THIS AIRCRAFT IS NOT A HELICOPTER.

  • @bionictrucker1 Sorry, "tilt-rotor"

Though it does have a "helicopter mode"

  • @bionictrucker1 ALSO WHY ARE YOU YELLING?

  • @scarface71795 YELLIN? WHAT IN THE EVER-LOVIN WORLD AREYA TALKIN BOUT? I'M NOT YELLIN. I ALWAYS WRITE THIS WAY. IT'S NOT YELLIN. YES THE V-22 OSPREY IS CALLED A TILT ROTOR AIRCRAFT & IT DOES HAVE A HELICOPTER LIKE MODE. MORE ON THE CH-46/CH-47 SIDE AS FAR AS HELO MODE IS CONCERNED.

  • @bionictrucker1 STOP YELLING AT ME, I'LL CRY!

  • @scarface71795 IM NOT YELLIN. LIKE I SAID IN LAST NITES POST, IT'S JUST HOW I WRITE. DON'T CRY. YOU'LL BE ALRITE. . . . .YER YOUNG . . . . . YOU'LL GIT OVER IT!

  • @bionictrucker1 YOUNG? ABOUT 1/4TH OF MY LIFE HAS ALREADY PASSED BY, WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN YOUNG?

I CAN'T GIT OVER IT CHIEF, TELL ME HOW I CAN.

  • @scarface71795 THIS WAS A SAYIN THAT ONE OF MY OLE NAVY BUDDIES & I HAD BETWEEN US WHEN SUMTHIN WAS WRONG ER DIDN'TMAKE A WHOLE LOTTUH SINCE. THIS SAYIN WAS JUST ALL IN GOOD FUN BETWEEN US. I DID NOT MEAN FER IT TO BE DISRESPECFUL TO YA AS THIS WAS NOT MY INTENSIONS. I APOLOGIZE IT YA TOOK IT THAT WAY.

  • @scarface71795 so you're 25? yea that's young...

  • @ranoldoe I'M NOT GOING TO LIVE TO A HUNDRED, STUPID DEVIL DOGS, CAN'T COUNT. I'LL BE LUCKY TO LIVE TO 75 OR 80

  • Thanks for the video, but my god, this is a horrible accident. What happened to the pilots? Do they have an ejection system in V22?

  • @Andybucker wouldn't want to eject in that tbh, expect a splat on the tarmac aha

  • @mqasim7866 gake and fay

  • poor v22 doesnt use roflcopterblades :D

  • O_O

  • thats horrible

  • '

what is wrong with a videocamera move move shake shake too fast,,,

try it hold STILL a videocamera

  • Bad day!

  • jajoajoaaa

  • @ClTIZEN are you dead yet?

  • @ClTIZEN I suppose you could fly this then, Hmm?

  • @Madurjafro You obviously haven't seen my bumper sticker, My other ride is your girlfriend, and an osprey v22

  • the crashing affect sounds didnt sound realistic i shouldve heard a boom! or a CRASH!you dont believe watch the video

  • JOE! I am sooo Sorrry.... PETER HOW CAN YOU AFFORD THESE THINGS.

  • HerpDerp

  • Regarding the hostility here:

Why must any video remotely military immediately become a political flame war? There are many videos that discuss politics. Argue there. It doesn't matter if you're pro-war, anti-war, or what your political view is. Videos like these (crash videos) involve fellow human beings being maimed and/or killed. They are not robots to enact the will of the country. They are real people who's kids are wondering why mom or dad didn't come home.

  • @aresye he's right. When it gets down to it, it sucks for a pilot to be seriously injured or killed in a crash. ALL OF A SUDDEN A FEW IDIOTS STARTED UNNEEDED FLAME ARGUMENT THAT'S NOT WORTH A DARN THING. It's about a terrible crash that other pilots, especially if they are youtubers here do not want to experience themselves.

These machines created do have some pros and cons, flaws, etc. When something bad happens, man does it suck to find out what caused the crash.

  • @aresye Most of the people commenting only dream of being in the military. If they knew what it takes to be a soldier and the mental strain it would put them under, they wouldn't fucking comment.

  • @aresye Who are you, and anyone else with such notions, to determine what discussion is permissible in the comment section of any video. Why should any video remotely military not become a political flame war? It doesn't matter if you're focused on, "Videos like these... ...home." It is only relevant what they consider worth discussing in the comments section.

  • @repatte No, I do not have the authority nor want to impose any degree of requirement as to what can or cannot be said in the comments section. However, I feel the majority of people intending to discuss politics, especially military politics, should do so at the appropriate places. A crash video like the one shown here, should be centered on the causative factors involved, not military political analysis by people who have no experience in military functions.

  • @aresye Fair enough.

  • @aresye the average age in the us military is 19, so its more like mon and dad wondering why there kid didnt come home

  • @aresye Oh bullshit. They are robots that enact the will of the country, without ever fucking thinking once what they are doing, or what the consequences are, or the evil shit bags on capitol hill wouldn't have any fucking power. It's too bad they don't go home, but that's what you get when you serve fucking demons. To top it off, in a country that boasts free speech, you must be a commie piece of shit to attempt to silence other people's input, so fuck you. Subverted Nation (dot net)

  • @911wasjews So in your viewpoint, I am a robot sent to enact the will of the country. In that's the case, my will of the country, and the mission I performed saved the lives of 8 stranded fishermen, trained foreign countries to help better prepare them to combat terrorism in neighboring countries, and help promote good foreign relations by respecting other country's customs and traditions.

  • @aresye ...and the people I serve with are fathers, mothers, sons, and daughters. When done with work, they return to their homes and their families. These same people are the ones who die in aircraft mishaps such as this, and to promote discussion of the possible causes of these accidents verse political debates, is respecting those who've died, and honoring their sacrifice by making sure this same type of accident doesn't happen again.

  • hope he had good helicopter insurance

  • --and the engine is still running to this day...

  • Screw you BASTARDOS. Countless of people have died testing aircrafts to protect the economic interests of the multinationals who manufacture them. Huray for stereotypical american thinking (our army protects us from TERRRRORRRISSSTS).

  • I'm still trying to figure out why he still tried to take off after the left side smashed into the ground...

  • @RobinApprentice the cyclic rigging was reversed. All his control movements where backwards which is why his roll becomes excessive. He was trying to correct for the unusual attitude and all it did was make it worse

  • fucking noobs

  • you're flying it wrong

  • its a pretty silly aircraft, cool idea but i feel like helicopters are the way to go

  • I DIDN'T BREAK THE NOBLE TEAM'S FALCON! -.-

  • All that money and testing for what ???? Really for what ??? America and Americans need to look from the outside in and understand that the world is not some dangerous hood ! We make it dangerous by screwing around in other countries affairs. Please understand what the Military Industrial Complex is and they control the politicians...including our Dear Leader Comrade Obama who just killed 15 people in a drone murder over Syria. What a Nobel Peace Prize poster boy huh ?

  • @erikinhawaii I don't think military spending is excessive, military advancement makes war more precise and safer. the world is not a dangerous hood but its no fairyland either. I don't agree with a lot of US decisions, but i know when war happens and you gotta fight it

  • @imafish16 Think about it. You need a spark to get a fire. Our spark if you will are the corporations who control the US government. We don't need it and you know it.. If you took the money the US spends on killing people and put it towards education, feeding our people and staying out of other countries affairs there wouldn't be a reason to build up such an ignorant sized Military State that we are. The US perpetuates the war machines, arming them, giving to this group and the cycle continues

  • @erikinhawaii nah, america runs shit and keeps the peace. they could save money other ways like legalizing weed and shit

  • @imafish16 America does not keep the peace, it keeps the "peace" to its interests. Try looking on Youtube for this, Economic Hitman and listen to this guy. He will open you eyes up...but you need to give it a chance.

  • how sad to see this video..yes it's the truth ..but what happened !!

  • Piece of shit? 'Was' a good concept? What the fuck?

The Osprey provides twice the range, twice the speed, and four times the fuel economy of a normal transport helicopter at only twice the cost. It has been flown many times in missions in Iraq and Afghanistan already, and it works fine.

  • the v-22 was a good concept though

  • Nice to see tax dollars put to good use. American's are paying 60 billion dollars for this piece of shit

  • that s why piloting double-rotored chopers is bad -_-

  • Terrible situation ... Injured but alive I hope? I always thought ospreys never falls... :(

  • nooooooooooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MAI ROFLCOPTOR

  • You guys are stupid as hell, this was an early test fight. Now adays, its completely safe and used quiet often.

  • there not safe

  • yeah its safe lets start rolling them out to the troops all right ! this one just needs a buff and some fluffy dice

  • sounds like my lawnmower
