I carry concealed everyday. I have had 2 cases where I was glad I had a gun on me. Once was hiking in the woods when a pack of wild dogs started towards me with ears drawn back and serious stare. One shot sent them running off. In downtown ATL a beggar became forceful with me and told me he was going to take my money.  I let him see I had a holstered weapon with my hand resting on it and he turned and walked away.

Your correct that the chances for needing it aren't that great but it is something I can easily be prepared for. I have carried concealed every day for 5 years since I was of legal age. Well I have tried some firearms. That includs rifle, shotgun and Winchester. Have also used a heavy machine gun. You are always two when you use those because one has to change the barrel. It gets hot after a while. So you see; I know some but still don't like it. The reason is I associate it with death and destruction.
