I met coach Radcliffe in the 80's when I was in HS looking at the UofO as a potential school to play FB at. He talked to me and taught me that being the smallest DB was irrelevant to be the best DB. They worked! I can only imagine what 25 more years of knowledge and experience have taught him beyond what he knew in the 80's and early 90's!
Best strength and conditioning coach in the land. I miss the motivational quotes stuffed into our shoes before game time, don't know how much i miss the running thou. Youre the man Coach Rad.
@TheNC61. Hey Nick...tough game last night. It 's amazing how short the USC fans memories are. Somehow they see their narrow 3 point win as a larger margin than the our 21 and 27 pt wins the past couple of years. Tell the team we love them and lets go smash the Beavs and win in the Rose Bowl.
@marinz4life well that goes both ways. For example it's pretty amazing how oregon thinks they're light years ahead of USC as a program, because they beat two of the worst SC teams in the past decade.
I went to one of Radcliffe's seminars, and he is phenomenol! He's a small guy - looks to be about 5'6" and 150lbs, but he is EXPLOSIVE! He's an older guy, but his fitness - speed, explosiveness, flexibility is off the charts. He's a ball of energy! But also a very humble and personable guy.
Great video. I wish I had seen it before making my video on the Oregon Men's Lacrosse team, which has a section on the Strength and Conditioning program. I shot the video in November 2010, it's called "We're Out Here."
having a strength and conditioning coach who forces athletes to do what is best for their athletes always creates the best possible athletes in any sport.
Great vid, always interesting to see some behind the scenes stuff. Rad is a mad scientist. I am really looking forward to the football season so we can once again see the results of the hard work you all put in.
@UofO08 I'd love to, but then everyone would know the top-secret stuff going on at the Casanova Center! Plus, we were told to make a 3-4 minute video, so we were already pushing it.
@TheNC61 Well could you at least tell me if a Strength and Conditioning website will ever be up again. I remember the old one, but it does not work anymore.
Very good job Nick. I really liked the way you used the the voice over of the athlete talking while showing them doing what they are talking about. Overall the video was very succinct and the message was delivered quite well. I like how you were talking about the unusual training methods while showing you and him working on them so we know just what you mean.
Coach Rad is a boss.

what is the best way to get in contact with coach Jim Radcliffe. I'm trying to get a GA position in S&C at Oregon?

Excelent video. I like the way the coach has a different approach to conditioning. Gives you a little insite into how much work goes into training.
