Nobody agrees on what actually constitutes a person, somebody who not only has no contact with the outside world but who is physically dependent upon a specific connection to the body of another person has no rights generating features. The form of the body and mind in this case is subsumed by another individual whose body and mind are whole. Rights are for those whose body and mind are not subsumed by other individuals.

the heart of the abortion debate is whether or not an unborn baby is a person. If it is, nobody has the right to kill him/her, even if the person is inside another person's body. If it is NOT a person, then of course who would even CARE whether or not someone does something to 'it'... ???

Is an unborn baby a person or not? There IS NO OTHER QUESTION, not about rights or amendments or anything. If it's a person, it's murder. If it's not a person, it's just a medical procedure.

@hco323 the fact that a heart is beating does not indicate humanity, only a progression of biology. The issue of whether it's a HUMAN BEING is not biological at all. And I have always said that THIS is the issue, the ONLY issue, in the abortion debate. It's already illegal to kill a human being. So why is an unborn child not a human being? The benefit of the doubt goes to the child. Before KILLING it, one ought to KNOW it isn't human. so what is the proof?

Actually, Republicans used to be the liberal party and Democrats used to be the conservative party. So your statement should read "Republicans that ended slavery" and "Democrats that wanted Jim Crow". Of course, one thing that has stood the test of time is that Rs typically stood for factory owners and Ds typically stood for farmers.

This was the best show Beck has ever had. But this show was about absolving Beck for calling Obama a racist and hates the white culture. He wanted to have blacks say something close to what he was saying to make himself feel better. The only time black people are on TV is when they speak against other blacks. I dont have a problem having an opinion. Its good and you dont have to agree. But blacks can talk on more topics then just being black. I hate the "Brother" thing.

Beck then decided it would be good for the mainstream media s well as the public hear from black conservatives. They have a voice as well. Im a conservative on taxes and personal responibility on smaller goverment. but not on the right to choice. and im a registered Independent been all my voting life. affirmaitve action is about equal access. White women have been the greatest of all groups to move up because of it. clarence thomas will tell you he is a product of affirmative action..

@95tahoe1 ah, but is that true? Did you know that over 60% of females are accepted into as well as finish college? Very few males actually have a bachelors. It is one of the severe problems universities are facing. They accept more females because of qualification among other things. What if universities had to deny girls in order to equal up the ratio? Affirmative action is only justified by those who experience a similar confirmation bias. Proclaimed victims if you will.
