I like your sense of humor! But here's some things I've learned. Olive oil tends to burn at higher heat, if you are going to fry something. It's better at low heat to saute something. Canola or peanut oil works great for high temps. I never care about eggs as long as they are fresh, but then you used just any tomato sauce? I care about every ingredient. Not trying to be rude but you care so much about eggs and then just use any canned sauce?
@DickLodge68 Hi, yes, I care about eggs so much, because I care about the lives of the chickens who lay them. I want them to come from chickens who at least have "real" lives. Not chickens that are kept in cages their entire lives to be egg laying machines. The canned tomato sauce, buy some different cans and do a blind fold taste test. Mostly you are paying for the brand name. By the time the sauce is added to all the other ingredients in the meatloaf, I honestly don't think it matters.
@DickLodge68 Thank you for the info about the olive oil. You are correct. I have since found that to be true. I was going by something Rachel Ray said a long time ago. She probably doesn't use olive oil to fry things in any longer either. ツ
@daligoddess2006 Honestly...I can't handle Ray anymore. I try not to judge but WOW she really got hooked into TV, magazines, whatever, and herself. Hmmmm, not sure because I don't have all the fancy gadgets. However, I cut the loaf open to make sure it is well done inside before pulling it out of the oven. If not I cook it another 15 minutes or so. Just to make sure there is no raw or rare meat inside. One hour is usually fine for the size pan I use.
im 11 and im a chefr to be i now how to cook everything and i think the best way to cook meatloaf is to put them in indivuals for like the kids and it takes a shorter amount of time than a whole big meat loaf would and it saves more so half of the meatloaf wont go in the trash thanks and i really liked the video and i hope u like mi idea ....
I LOVE your idea! That's great! I will make it like that when I make it for myself and freeze the other ones until I need one. When I make meatloaf for my family, I usually make two. They love my meat loaf and gobble it up at one meal! Good luck with your future chef! I think you're gonna make a great one! You have some super ideas.
Thanks for the video, I'm making meatloaf tonight and this was a real help.
A word of advice though -- don't use extra virgin olive oil to fry in, you're wasting your money. Extra virgin olive oil has a very subtle taste that's ruined by cooking, you'd never catch an italian cooking with extra virgin! It's supposed to be used as a straight topping on foods such as salads and breads. if you're frying, just use normal olive oil, it's cheaper.
I love the crisp you get using the roaster if you can cook it long enough. The pancakes I made didnt turn out, just burnt and fell apart in the frying pan this time, I need practice LOL
I used the oven broiler instead of the loaf pan... I found there was to much grease. The broiler drained the fat nicely, I was surprized how little grease the meat I used had. I saved my potatoes for pancakes tonight!!
There is one rule I follow when cooking and that is to cook to, "my taste". If I like it, I add it, if I don't like it, I omit it. Tastebuds, like opinions, are all different. So, if you like bacon, add it. If you don't like grease, drain it out after cooking. Bon Appetite!
That does look good. Did you ever notice that when making a good meatloaf that you can't help but say "oh this is gonna be a good meatloaf" :) No egg in the potatoes? EVOO is great, i use it all the time in place of butter.
Yes, you can use the cream crackers for those who live in the UK but don't use the whole package as the cream crackers are much bigger then the soup crackers
im 13 and my sisters left for colege this year so its me and my mom now ts my turn to cook and i have no idea wat but thanks to you i know wat to make to day! thanks for giving me the recipe to my first meal ever!!!
i dont eat your type of food im jamaican but nuff respect to u my fav channel is the food network u could get ya own show i would watch u every day u remind me of cmfort and luv in the kitchen bless
whatsthisheresauce is Worcestershire Sauce. You can get it in the U.S. at any local grocery...or in Worcestershire, I guess. Hahahah! Whatsthisheresauce is just easier for me to say than Worcestershire. That's a tongue twister.
Yeah! You're absolutely correct! I grew up in a poor family and this is what we had for dinner...a lot. However, I didn't KNOW we were poor when I was a child. I just thought we were the same as everyone else. Anyway, we were far richer than most...we had and still have more LOVE in our family than most families.
The food is still "Comfort Food" and brings back cherished memories of dinners shared with both my mother and father who have been gone for a very long time now. If you want an expenisve meal, go out to dinner at a five star restaurant, they'll take as much money from you as you will allow. =D
omg.. can i come to your house for dinner?!

does the crackers replace the bread crumbs? can we use bread crumbs?

Yes, you can use bread crums. =D

What would be the internal temp of your meatloaf after an hour at 350° ?
Soujurn 2 years ago
Hmmmm, not sure because I don't have all the fancy gadgets. However, I cut the loaf open to make sure it is well done inside before pulling it out of the oven. If not I cook it another 15 minutes or so. Just to make sure there is no raw or rare meat inside. One hour is usually fine for the size pan I use.

lol, I asked Meat Loaf - I'd lie for you and I get this video? Lolmao

easier way is to stuff everything into a food processor. makes the onion and garlic finer so u can hide em better and u can stick the crakers in too
fireva 3 years ago
I wish I could afford a food processor. That'd be nice!

im 11 and im a chefr to be i now how to cook everything and i think the best way to cook meatloaf is to put them in indivuals for like the kids and it takes a shorter amount of time than a whole big meat loaf would and it saves more so half of the meatloaf wont go in the trash thanks and i really liked the video and i hope u like mi idea ....
taytay0921 3 years ago

SpoonsFan 3 years ago
I used the oven broiler instead of the loaf pan... I found there was to much grease. The broiler drained the fat nicely, I was surprized how little grease the meat I used had. I saved my potatoes for pancakes tonight!!
What's this here sauce? !!! HAHA
SpoonsFan 3 years ago
using oven broiler pan now that's a great idea as I make meatloaf at least 1-2 times a month
kotraquin 3 years ago
Could I put a few strips of bacon over the meatloaf when I start to cook it? Or what that be too greasy?
I love meatloaf with fries.
I actually hope they have meatload on the cruise I am going to take next Sunday.
adelgado75 3 years ago
There is one rule I follow when cooking and that is to cook to, "my taste". If I like it, I add it, if I don't like it, I omit it. Tastebuds, like opinions, are all different. So, if you like bacon, add it. If you don't like grease, drain it out after cooking. Bon Appetite!

whats there here sauce that was to funny, great video!!
SpoonsFan 3 years ago
Hahahah. I said that for years because it was so hard to pronounce. What's this here sauce?
daligoddess2006 3 years ago
That does look good. Did you ever notice that when making a good meatloaf that you can't help but say "oh this is gonna be a good meatloaf" :) No egg in the potatoes? EVOO is great, i use it all the time in place of butter.
Burkeandbentley 3 years ago
Hahaha! I say that about everything I cook. "Man this is gonna be good." Hahahaha. No egg is neccessary if the potatoes are cold.
daligoddess2006 3 years ago
Yes, you can use the cream crackers for those who live in the UK but don't use the whole package as the cream crackers are much bigger then the soup crackers

boardluva108 3 years ago
whatsthisheresauce is Worcestershire Sauce. You can get it in the U.S. at any local grocery...or in Worcestershire, I guess. Hahahah! Whatsthisheresauce is just easier for me to say than Worcestershire. That's a tongue twister.

this is a poor familys meal
thug4life2005 3 years ago
Yeah! You're absolutely correct! I grew up in a poor family and this is what we had for dinner...a lot. However, I didn't KNOW we were poor when I was a child. I just thought we were the same as everyone else. Anyway, we were far richer than most...we had and still have more LOVE in our family than most families.
daligoddess2006 3 years ago
The food is still "Comfort Food" and brings back cherished memories of dinners shared with both my mother and father who have been gone for a very long time now. If you want an expenisve meal, go out to dinner at a five star restaurant, they'll take as much money from you as you will allow. =D
daligoddess2006 3 years ago
excellent! so i should use saltine crackers, not unsalted crackers, right? just making sure.
rmrodriguez80 3 years ago
Salted or unsalted, that's personal preference. If you have high blood pressure then definitely unsalted.
daligoddess2006 3 years ago
nice video. i think i'll try that tonight. can you use ground turkey?
