Hey, J - just had to come by here again, after what? Three or so years? Listening to and viewing this again moved me even more this time. What a glorious human she was - and I know you love and miss her, still, every day. My mom's 90 now and is still living with us. I am care taking her and working from home as a writer/researcher.
She's home with us...and I wouldn't have it any other way. Happy Mother's Day to your beautiful Nana, your mom, and your wife...and much love to you all. :)
I am so sorry for your loss, this was beautiful. It must have been great to be a part of her life and to have her in yours. There is a lot you could learn from her. I am very glad that you posted up this video. I now always be sure to say i love you to my parents every time i leave the house and when i go to bed
Awesome video. Made me think of my grandmothers who are both alive and not visited nearly often enough by me. In fact I am going to call them both first thing tomorrow morning. I am glad your grandma is again with her husband.
absolutely remarkable....you are blessed to have such wonderful words and advice left with you always. may she rest in peace and we all know she is getting that big bear hug she wanted.
She was so beautiful! She reminds me of my Mema. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful video of your Nana. God Bless you and your family. May she feel the loving embrace of her family in heaven.
You look like her Jo! She was so cute. I like her new england accent. If that's what that is. This video actually made me shed a tear. :( We love you nana!
What a wonderful video! I am so sorry you have lost your grandma. I honor her for leaving the world with the last words of her wisdom. May she rest in peace.
im really upset after watching this and finding out she died... but at the same time i mhappy, im not gonna say im glad she died, thats horrid, but im glad she is free of her body and able to be with her family again and see her husband.... i know now , even tho i dont know her, that she is much happier where she is now than where she was. =p
OMG how poignant this is! I would love to see this lady as a young girl, a young woman, or as a baby infact. You should post some pics of her. What a wonderful tribute to her!
I too had a very special relationship with my grandmother, and this touched me SO much. For a moment, I was stealing cookies off the kitchen counter and getting both slapped on the hand and tickled for it. I am 8, and Grandma was old even then, you know? Thank you for sharing this, from both me and my big, loud family. Jeff
For anyone who ever loved a Nana, or who might be a Nana themselves, this is so touching and meaningful a video. God bless her and all who loved her. Thank you for sharing so special a moment with us. xxoo
Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful and beautiful person. Life is great when we have something as super as this to treasure. You should be very proud of yourself to honor her with this great tribute.
Oh dear lady you were a breath of pure golden sunlight to you family. You are holding your Husband again and your parents are hugging you too. Your Angel wings pass a whisper of love to those you left behind. May we all give that perfect gift of Love! No need to say sorry as you are happy with the ones you love and you watch over those that are here with us. A very superior video, Thank you for Sharing a part of you life with us.Peace and Love
Tonya thank you: Do you what I find so fascinating in this video? I can here myself talking. When your life has been filled with the young your heart stays with it. Yes you body will slow down you gain wrinkles and grey hair. But you heart remains the same. Peace and Happiness you have got that anyway. Hugs
Yes such a beautiful spirit this made me not just cry but sob! Thank you for posting it its good to remember in all the chaos of life we need to just stop and think about all the really important things!
What a beautiful memory you'll have of her forever. I love my life & all I have experienced--the good and the bad. Some was very bad but I learned from them. I miss those that have passed on but I too know that when I take my last breath--I will go home and they will be waiting for me with smiles on their faces and joyful for me to come home. We are only visiting here and stay only as long as is necessary. Yes, those that have passed come & check up on us from time to time too.
I love you too Mary Lucille, what a beautiful video, words really can't fully express the beautifulness of this , no matter what I say, because this video is just simply more precious than gold. ~much much love, Margerie.
This is a very touching, very moving... it's wonderful that you could have the relationship that you did with your grandmother. Most people don't tend to, and to see her express how much she valued the little, simple things in life and even towards the end she felt like a young girl... well, that was just incredible for me to experience.
A wonderful video, Joseph. A great testament to a woman who clearly was invaluable to you. Thank you for allowing us to glimpse a tad into her life.
That was just beautiful! How lucky that you video taped her with such wonderful words! You're very lucky to have had such a wonderful lady! I was also extremely close to my Grandmother as well. Thank you for sharing this video! :-)
Omg im sorry :( I just cryed omg at least you was lucky enough to have had her in your life so long. be thankful growing up without grandparents is awful I hope all is well and may god rest her soul.
....when my grandfather passed away some 8 years ago, I was told by my family that were with him when he passed that he was asking for me, as I was in another state. The morning after he passed, he actually appeared in my bedroom at the foot of my bed to say goodbye. I am confident our spirits live on. I love this video & I know this woman still lives on. Peace. Joey
"The loud conversations that echoed from the kitchen."
Joseph, I'm sobbing now...as God as my witness...I'm sobbing. And I'm speechless. This doesn't happen often with me. I love your grandmother. What an amazing, loving, caring, articulate, expressive, intelligent, beautiful woman.
I hope you can feel my heart reaching out to you...and her. Thank you for allowing me the privilege of viewing this.
I truly don't think I've ever seen anything quite as beautiful on youtube.
OMG this is so touching, it made me cry. What a wonderful, eternal memory you now have of your beloved Nana. And what a special person you are. I'm glad to be getting to know you.
I am sorry Joseph I didn't see this earlier, your Nana is at piece now, my condolences and love to you and your family. What a lovely poem she read, my grandmother was my mom for the first 6 yrs of my life. I know your's was just as special. All my love to you guys.
Thanks for signposting me to your video - your Nana was a precious woman, just as mine was. I miss her so much ten years on, and you are so luck to have video of your Nana so you can remember her. Part of me envies you for that, but in a good way.
What person, man or woman, could watch this woman recite her poems, and not think of our own parents and grandparents and loved one who have passed on, and not be brought to tears? Thank you for sharing. Bless them all- all our loved ones who have gone on to a better world.
You are a good friend! I appreciate your kind words. This video is in a different category than most here on YT. Yours are terrific and stand alone, not needing comparison.
Joesph that was so beautiful, gah you made me cry! I'm so sorry for your lost, right now I'm losing someone and I know how you feel. Prayers with your family.
Very poignant indeed... I emphathize, as we buried a loved one's ashes last week and I filmed the ceremony. I find that film very difficult to watch, as I do yours. Emotions are still too "raw," I guess: I will give it a couple of weeks and come back for another viewing.
Oh my God, I just saw the end, and I'm so so very sorry for your loss. Within the last 2 years, I have lost my Mom, and My Brother..9 months apart. What was a family of 4, was cut in half by Cancer.
That was a touching vid and tastefully done. I really appreciated how it wasn't a commercial for Christ. Your Grandma is a wonderful person and I admire her. Epicurus said "The art of living well and the art of dying well are one." I think she personifies this idea. She is a strong person. Thanks for sharing.
I agree with you. I don't really share her beliefs but I am/was more than happy to "play" along with her. The thought of her being reunited with my grandfather was more important than being right... if you know what I mean.
When I watched it, I was unaware of what had happened to you ..I thought how awesome..after watching it , I saw the information box and ...I´m sorry .
All things considered, I was happy when I got the news though I cried and found it hard to catch my breath at the moment. She wasn't going to get young again, the only thing left on her agenda was death. I'm glad she still maintained much of her dignity at the time of her death. Thanks for the nice words. You're a good friend.
I know that you just lost your grandmother too. I hope that If I see her again I would have a difficult time recognizing her... I hope she would look like she did when she was 25 not 85 or 65 or 45. It's her turn to be a spring chicken again.
Thanks for the nice comment. You are a good friend.
I am sure she would look BEAUTIFUL again as she was in her 20s or 30s--in those fantastic pictures with your grandfather. EVERYTHING happens for a reason--the timing with this video was PERFECT!! Prayers go out to you and your family at this time.
You are very lucky to have enjoyed such a special relationship with an obviously special lady.. touched my heart.

The pain comes from knowing there are no more visits left. They are so greatly missed aren't they.

Dear Giuseppe,
this video was absolutely beautiful.
Your grandmother was a very beautiful person. A great woman, a great tribute to her.
Also I have had a charmed relationship with my grandmother since birth. Also we had a special bond.
I am sorry for your loss. I know how it feels to lose someone so amazing in your life.
Thanks Joseph to have remembered her with us.
God Bless you and your family.
Sincerely, Stefano

Joseph, What a wonderful opportunity you had growing up with your Nana and I can tell you made the very most of it.
Indeed this was poignant and beautiful. I'm sure you will miss her deeply.
God Bless you and your family.
Sincerely, Nancy

That was a touching vid and tastefully done. I really appreciated how it wasn't a commercial for Christ. Your Grandma is a wonderful person and I admire her. Epicurus said "The art of living well and the art of dying well are one." I think she personifies this idea. She is a strong person. Thanks for sharing.

I agree with you. I don't really share her beliefs but I am/was more than happy to "play" along with her. The thought of her being reunited with my grandfather was more important than being right... if you know what I mean.
