  • Love this vid-thank u so much 4 the in depth teaching!

  • Just watched this great vid, man you made me hungry. Have you tried white pepper with your gravy? I will be trying your gravy. Reminds me of my grammas gravy, for get that runny stuff.

  • Good God Man another pepper lover so gooooooooooood!

  • you remind me so much of my Best friends Grandma how you cook, and her food was the BEEEEEEST!!! so I'll have to try this. :D

  • Looks real darn good

  • Do you use salted or unsalted butter?

  • If you're using hot sausage, then why add black pepper?

  • Raised on the stuff= cause of my high cholesterol and blood pressure. what I said was the truth and can see how it hurts you. aura was spelled wrong but use all natural or organic and make it taste good!!! just made some fried boneless chicken with all natural flour and jiffy mix but let it marinade in buttermilk and season, with zuccini, (good for menstration) califlower and brocolli(can't live without it&raw) mix and rice, all kinds of Centro chicken broth in veggies and rice. My son loved!

  • pepper is bad for ya ora I would find a lot of subs for this dish nonfat milk nonfat butter even whole grain bread, you should use less metal to metal. Because the children are digesting it in your food we all deserve gourmet and you know it!

  • @SheaTnite7 Obviously you know nothing about southern cooking......too bad !

  • You had me at one and half sticks of butter

  • this is awesome.

  • Call 9/11 hell, then you would have to feed them too. This gravy would make your tonge slap your brains out.

  • looks awesome...

  • thanks! this tutorial is very good

  • I followed this recipe and WOW!!! It was absolutely delicious!! It was so flavorful! The credit is yours, I just made it the way you did. I tried other ways from others here on YT and yours was by far the best!!! I'm looking forward to making it again! GREAT JOB!!!!

  • Do you call 911 prior to eating or after?

  • @tzkelley Moderation is on you but it is one of the finer things in life IMHO. At least where I come from. I prepare this dish every two to three months. Most days breakfast for me is a piece of my fresh baked artesian bread and a cup of wonderful coffee from our French press. On week ends I'll add some perfectly scrambled eggs to that. But a treat every now and then is a welcome reward.

  • @Bamaquer Now THIS is the way to do it. And somebody please save us from the fat police. The stuff that is bad for you in this dish are the flour and the biscuits, not the fat and meat. I like to use locally made sausage instead of that packaged stuff, because it is higher (yes, higher) in fat. That way I don't have to add expensive butter, and the flavor is better. I also like to add a pinch or two of cayenne to finish the gravy. I love the way you don't measure, btw. Subscribed. :)

  • @Bamaquer your better to cut the bresd out and just have eggs and coffee

  • @tzkelley you're a fag

  • This is the absolute BEST sausage and gravy recipe.. we love it!! Thank you so much for posting!! :)

  • pass me a cathead..im ready to eat.

  • what do you eat this with...is it put on meat or is it a main dish ?

  • what kind of sausage did you use? and the brand name plz

    thanks!

  • try adding onion powder and using white pepper. Some times we add mushroom to.

  • Wow i did my sausage gravy all wrong...lol :P It taste to much like four and milk. I should of looked it up it on you tube first. Instead I went on the food network...what a joke. Next time I cook it for my husband...I'ma do it your way Bamaquer!!!

  • This is just beggin' to cover a chicken fried steak!

  • @randy6771

I dont think that would suck at all!

  • I think I found my mistake!!!

It's the use of a well seasoned cast iron pan!

  • What tempeture high low what when ur adding the flour to the melted butter

  • @jamestube11 I use medium/high heat on a a regular gas burner. Add the flour when the butter stops bubbling, but be careful not to burner it. Cook the flour and butter roux for a few minutes but not so long that it begins to color. Remember stir continually.

  • THANK YOU...I just made this recipe useing approx. half the ingredients shown in the video and fressh goats milk. It came out perfect.. THANKS AGAIN!=]]]]]]

  • This gravy looks superb! I am such a fan of biscuit and gravy that I need to try this out.

Will this freeze well at all?

Be great to portion it out and freeze it and take out just what is needed.

  • You make it just like I do...everyone loves it!!! My kids say mine is better than theres, they just cant seem to get it right..lol..must be mamas special touch :)

  • OK I have done this recipe 3 times now. Perfect each time. My family loves it and my 17 year old son asked me to teach him to make it. Total success and easy to follow examples in you video. Thank you so much, sometimes its hard to connect with a teenager and for THIS to help make that happen is just great. Keep up the good cookin....

  • I made your recipe as well and it turned out great-as-hell! What is the soundtrack your using?

  • Glad you enjoyed it. The sound track is

something that came with my video editing software.

  • yeah, i'm about to make it again.

  • Looks good... Im going to attempt this... Just to let u know your video was the most informative I've watched on here. Thanks hun! And it looked YUMMY!

  • i make this all the time best recipe

  • I promise it will be worth the effort. Only hard part is that they'll want it all the time. Enjoy!

  • man it be hard to find sausage gravy biscuits unless you go to like ihop or a micky d's in a ghetto neighborhood, now i can make this stuff on my own xD thanks for postin this man

  • That stuff in the fast food jionts is an instant mix and no where close to the real the real thing. Give it a try and you'll see and you'll never go back for the fast food version. Make a big batch, it keeps well in the

fridge. To re heat, toss in the microwave and add a little milk to loosen it back up. Put it over toast if biscuts aren't available. Mm mm good.

  • i've BEEN tryin it, i've made 5 batches since i commented

  • Mom always put alot of black pepper in, as well. I loved it. Great vid!

  • I'm really glad you and your family are enjoying the B&G. It is one of those comfort food dishes. It makes me happy when I post something that makes people happy. Good food usually does. Enjoy it, I'll be making some in the morning as well.

  • Man, that gravy looks AWESOME!! I can't wait to try it.... and try it I will. From one Devil Dog to another.... Semper Fi !!

  • Semper Fi to you Marine. You will definitly enjoy the sausage gravy. It's not healthy but it's dayum good!

  • Yummy, yummy! That's a lot of pepper though.

  • To each his own bruther. Enjoy it the way you like it.

  • I made my first batch of sausage gravy last weekend by following your directions. Tasting it as I went along, I found adding pepper just as you do was necessary, but I also used non-spicy sausage. It came out great! Thanks for teaching me!!!

  • That's great! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

  • This was so cool and an inspiration to watch.. Thanks for sharing this!

  • Glad you enjoyed it.

  • amazing :)

its about 3 am and i think im gunna make some biscuits and gravy. thank you for the video

  • It is very addictive. Give it a try I promise you'll like it.

  • I wonder is lard could be used to bulk up the needed grease.

  • I dont know why not. It's worth a try.

  • Well, the dishes are done, everyone is taking a nap, and I am finishing the second pot of coffee. Breakfast turned out pretty well, but I scrimped on the buscuits. Used Grands, and they turned out pretty well. Think I'll use them again. Thanks again for the video. Lots of us out here need just a little incouragment, and the hands on view you provide makes dealing with something a little new just that much easyer. If I can get my hands around it, I can fix it... Thanks again.

  • Glad everyone enjoyed it. We use Mary B;s butter ot jumbo biscuits. They they come frozen and are really close to home made. We get them at Wally World.

  • Outstanding. Making B&G for family in morning. While fooling with Utube, trying to find something to watch, ran across your video. Low and behold, there it was, right in front of me. Yes, labor intensive, but worthy. Your recipe and mine are almost identicle. Breakfast is at 0630, come on down. Ha. Good show.

  • Thanks man,

This is a favorite around here but I only make it every 6 to 8 weeks. You can feel it coating your artories but damn it's good.

  • oh lord that looks good! thank you

  • god damn thats fatning lol

  • Sometimes you just gota say "To hell with it" and enjoy the good things in life, and this is one of them.

  • This video is way too easy! I just made it this morning very good to put over my biscuit and sausage.... I actually added a little bit of spicy peppers to it! I enjoy spicy stuff.

  • Glad you enjoyed it. It really is easy.

  • I hopeyou like it. I've also used leftover brisket grease and trimmings and it really turned out well.

  • I just learned that I don't have to add all the milk at one time. I have only made gravy a few times, and thought once I added milk, couldn't add more or it would mess it up. Ended up with gravy that was too thin sometimes because it wouldn't cook down. Thanks! You taught me that I can do it gradually and get the perfect consistency! Also, I use a little more oil instead of butter to get the right amount of grease. Does butter make a huge difference?

  • I'm glad I could help. I think the butter adds great flavore to the gravy.

  • Looks great..that is some good gravy

  • It's very easy to make. You should try it.

  • Glad you liked it.

  • delicious!!! thats the type of shit i eat a church!! them old ladies can cook

  • chea i can tell you dont measure hahaha

  • I've been cooking for years and never have.

  • thats how its done, i like to use can milk (veaporated) , try it, comes out gr8

  • I'll have to try that.

  • Great video on sausage gravy! Looks delicious!

  • Thanks Dave.
