  • This makes me very happy in my strange chilihead way, thanks so much for sharing & keep up the good work. You have inspired me to grow more variety's (so far have scotch bonnet chayenne, jalapeño and some thai finger chili) many thanks!

  • @jords420 - Thanks very much for this really nice comment!! It is great to know that my video has made you happy and inspired you. You have some awesome peppers growing. Thnak you for watching my video and taking the time to post a comment. Good luck with your garden.

  • I am very impressed with your variety. great job! what do you do with these? I have been experimenting with different hot sauce recipes.

I am not sure if the comment was open to the public but I am interested in a few seeds also? you know cross pollination might be interesting to grow. that is how most of the hot peppers were found! :) Let me know.

  • @gocougs210 - Thanks for the kind words gocougs210. I mostly dehydrate the peppers and turn them into a powder I cover my food with. I cook with it and use it as a condiment. The comment is certainly open to the public and I'd be happy to send you some seeds. Again, send me a private message with the types you'd like and your address and I'll get some out to you. Thanks for watching my videos. I appreciate it.

  • I was checking out most of your videos and you have an outstanding variety of peppers. By any chance would you be willing to sell any of your hot pepper seeds?

  • @TheRastaRick - Hi Rick. Sell seeds? Never! But I'd be happy to send you some - no charge. The only thing to keep in mind is that the seeds could be cross-pollinated since I have my plants so close together. I have so many seeds that I will never use. I'd be happier thinking that they'll have a chance at life and make someone happy in the process. Just send me a private message and let me know what you'd like, with your name and address and I'll try to accommodate in the next couple of days.

  • Ps love your plants have started to grow fatalli based on your suggestions re fruity nice flavor

  • @katrinagarden That's fantastic Katrina! I am glad that you've decided to give the fatalli a try. They are really great peppers! Thanks so much for watching my videos and leaving the comment. I really appreciate it.

  • Sorry show

  • Hi u might need epson salts .the pale yellowish leaves shoe a magnesium deficiency cheers

  • @katrinagarden - Interesting suggestion. I have never added epsom salts to my soil. The leaves were all mostly a fairly healthy green. The only plants that had a lighter, though not actually yellowish hue, were the Seven Pods. The colours seem a bit more washed out on the video than they were in actuality. Thanks for the suggestion.

  • Great looking collection of peppers and very healthy.

  • @tmudder Thanks. I appreciate your watching my videos and taking the time to post a comment. Really very nice of you.

  • great video, makes me wanna get some peppers growing myself

  • @GrowSomethingGreen - Thank you so much for leaving this great comment on my video. I really appreciate it. If you feel inspired after watching it, that's very flattering. Good luck with your 2012 garden!

  • Hi Sak59, i feel awesome for your peppers! I ordered the other day there the hottest peppers in the world! there are Ghost Pepper, Giant Ghost Pepper, Caribbean Blend, Chocolate Habanero, Pumpkin Habanero, Scotch Bonnet, Tazmanian Habanero, White Habanero, Jamaican Habanero, Golden Habanero and Spicy Mustard. you can get them at Pepper Joe's 2011 seed catalog. im also going vacation soon! Maui, Hawaii. Well have another pepper-tasical year with your peppers! 8D Thanks for posting this video!

  • @BlurryVideos2011 - Thank you for this comment. It sounds like you will be having an amazing garden next year. I'll be looking forward to your videos! Thanks for the good wishes. Have fun on your vacation.

  • Man, that is one sweet crop you have there. Is spring is Aus now, so have just planted some naga morich seeds. Looking forward to them.

  • @muddwell - Thanks so much for watching my video and leaving this great comment! I am jealous that you are into Spring over there! Just starting to get chilly as Fall is in full swing. I pulled the last hundred peppers off the plants to ripen indoors, yesterday. Good luck with your Nagas...the king of the superhots, in my opinion. I mean that they so hot, but so flavourful. Thanks again!!

  • dont the polen from different peppers interbreed??

  • @ENRIQUEGOITIA - Certainly that can happen. In my experience...and I use the fresh seeds from the prior year in each ongoing season...the seeds seem to be relatively pure each year. On the other hand, if they are crossed, well just an interesting new pepper strain to try. Again, thank you for taking the time to watch my videos. I really appreciate it.

  • You never had any cross pollination happening or you just start from bought seeds every season? I mean growing many different types of chili so closely wont give cross pollination?

  • @betterfuture09 - I expect that cross pollination happens. You're right that they are jammed in closely together -- I even made that comment at some point during one of my videos (#2, I think.) I don't really mind if they cross-pollinate, though. Hybrids are a neat discovery, I figure. I really don't buy seeds; I have seeds that people have sent me, just as I have sent seeds out and, of course, I pull the seeds out of the peppers before dehydrating them. Again, thanks for the comment.

  • Just amazing, wish I had that much to harvest!

  • @betterfuture09 - Thanks for the kindness. I haven't fussed with the plants. I applied sheep manure to the soil before planting them and then just watered them once a week or so. That they gave me so many peppers is more their doing than mine. Ha ha. Thank you for watching my video and posting this comment. I appreciate it.

  • my scotch bonnet plant is probably the sturdiest of all my chillie plants - the leaves appear to be thicker and the stem alot more dense

  • @preformingmonkey - Absolutely, the scotch bonnet is a warrior. Left to it's own devices it would take over the garden. I wound up with a couple hundred peppers from mine. And pretty hot, too. A really nice pepper, overall. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. I appreciate it.

  • One day I may make a video of my plants. I don't know how

    to even do it.

  • @condor198364 - It isn't complicated. You could make a video using any camera...digital, cellphone or camcorder. You could use Windows Movie Maker which is included free with every PC. I used that software for the first few years. Just something to think about. The interest is there to see your garden. We are all the same, really, when you think about it and we all like looking at each other's set-ups. Thank you again.

  • Your peppers are looking good. I have not tried the paper

lanterns yet. Maybe next year. My peppers have been doing

well also. I am growing trinidad scorpion cardi, bhuts, bonda

ma jacques, datil, boonie, chilitepen, tabasco, and chocolate hab.

Have already made a few powders.

  • @condor198364 - Thanks for the compliment condor. The Hot Paper Lantern is a great pepper, but you have a fantastic variety of peppers growing. Have you considered posting a video? I'd be interested in seeing your plants! Thanks for watching my video and taking the time to post a video.

  • wow great video if you need i have a real trinidad scorpion plant its probably got somewhere over 50 peppers i can send you some seeds when theyre ready if youd like

  • @cob4lyf04 - Hi cob! That is a really nice offer. I have almost given up on Trinidad Scorpions. Every year it's the same story and this year the plant was one I purchased so it isn't a case of seeds getting more crossed every year. I can't understand it. Hopefully they will still taste like Scorpions even if they don't look like them. Thanks for that great offer. I may take you up on it. Also, thanks for watching my videos and leaving a comment. I really appreciate it.

  • Nice to see that at least your peppers do well this year. I live in Germany, and this year the weather is absolutely horrible for Chili-growers. It was really hot around April, when my chilis were too small to handle these temperatures. And in June, Juli and August it was really cold and rainy, the plants didn't grow well, most of them didn't bloom and now they refuse to ripen.

It's good to see that not everybody has these problems!

  • @ThePepperPrince - I am really sorry to hear that your season didn't go well for you this year. We had such a hot July that my seven pods didn't produce. Our temps are usually in the mid-twenties (Celsius) with rain once a week or so. I'd say pretty well perfect for pepper plants. This year we almost experienced drought conditions with the temps in the high 30's and low 40's a few days. It was crazy. But it did all work out . Thank you for watching my video and leaving a comment.

  • Wow, great stuff mate,The plants are looking fantastic, soooo many nagas ..... Its just starting to warm up over this side of the planet and am looking forward to getting the season under way :) Thanks for the video always look forward to your updates ....

  • @kg3d1 - Thank you kg! I am really happy with the Nagas. That is a record for me. Overall, though, I envy that your season is just starting...ours is coming to an end. Sad Face. Good luck with your garden this year. I will be looking forward to watching your videos.

  • Nice pepper plants! do you dry your peppers? I would like to know of a good way to preserve peppers after the harvest. I would also like to know where do you get your seeds or plants from?

  • @BIGE5599 - Thanks for the nice comment. I do dry my peppers. That's mostly what I do with them. If you look at my other videos you will find two videos I posted last year where I explain my Top 5 methods for preserving peppers for Winter use...coincidentally. I have received My seeds by trading with other hot pepper enthusiasts such as yourself. I am always happy to send seeds out. Thank you for watching my videos!

  • Wow, this is by far the BEST pepper garden I have ever seen! So many different varieties. I was planning on doing one this summer, but alas, work and life put an immediate stop to that, but next summer, however, I will be having a pepper garden. That being said, I live in the city with an EXTREMELY limited amount of growing space, so I was curious if I could use something such as buckets or earthenware pots and still get a relatively good harvest? Once again, AMAZING garden!!

  • @quanacataug - That is really nice of you to say! Life has a way of getting between you and the things that you'd rather be doing...that's for sure! Many people have fantastic pepper gardens growing in containers. If I lived in an apartment it would have to have a balcony, which would be covered with potted pepper plants. I'd make it work somehow. I'm sure you'll do great when you get started. You'll need large pots and you'll have to be sure to fertilize the soil. Thanks for the comment!

  • Hey man beautiful plants! Love how you have so many varieties :-) I like how the plants are both useful and ornamental. You obviously know what your doing. Just a great job you've done and really interesting varieties! I'm going to post a video highlighting my Giant Marconi's soon. They did really well!

  • @ratdavid9 - Thank you for your kind words, Ratdavid. I really appreciate it. I will definitely be watching for your video. I grew Marconis last year.

  • Great video, and nice variety!

Last year, I didn't have a ripe Caribbean Red until the end of September.

  • @Andalbanon - Thanks Andalbanon. Caribbean Reds are a great standard Habanero. The typical flavour with an outstanding heat. I wish I had some growing, but I don't think it will be this year. Thank you so much for watching my video and leaving this comment.

  • @SAK59 Absolutely! The Caribbean Red is a super versatile pepper, with a fine flavor and heat profile. This year, the only habaneros I'm growing are Chocolates.

  • Hi mate, your plants are looking awesome bet you can't wait to do some harvesting!!

Are your 7 pods a different strain such as jonah? My normal 7 pods are more pointed than yours, almost naga shaped. A few are rounded but most of the bigger pods are pointed.

I have grown the balloon pepper before, it is a variant of bishops crown. Very sweet tasting, not much heat in the flesh but the placenta holds lots of heat usually :) Take care mate and happy harvesting!

  • @paulmtonkin - Hi Paul. Thanks for the compliments. Yes, you are right on...my 7 Pods are the Jonah strain. I have never actually grown any other kind. Good information about those balloon peppers. For a moment I thought you were simply saying that they had no heat but I am relieved that there is some. Thanks for the info and good wishes. I enjoy your videos.

  • Man, you're lucky!!! Your plants did really well, they produced. Unlike mine, which sucked this year. I tried my best, the weather this year was too hot!!! So yea, oh well, there's always next year. The only plant that did well was my Pequin plant. Keep it up Sheldon. I don't think I will upload a harvest vid of my peppers, becuz there isn't any lol. Well, nice plants u got there. I'm digging those 7-pods, nice peppers. Well, I am now preparing myself for the Fall... :)

  • @MayloGreenThumb - Thanks for the kind words. I am really sorry to hear that your peppers didn't do that well. I still thought your plants looked fantastic in your video...and you had pointed out some peppers, but I guess just not what you were hoping for. At what point does the weather turn too cold to produce any peppers where you live?

  • Wow you really have a great assortment of peppers do you order your seeds online or can you find them near you i wish I could find plants like this near me I have ordered some online but I wish I could see the plant before buying it

  • @MarshmallowVogt - I haven't bought seeds at all. I have received and sent seeds all over the world. You can see what the plants (and peppers) look like in my videos and if you think you'd like some seeds let me know and I'll send some to you. Thanks for watching my videos and leaving comments! I appreciate that.

  • @Efetida - Thank you so much! I really appreciate that you took the time to watch my video and leave this very nice comment!

  • @SAK59 hey you inspired me to grow jalepenos in my garden. But when I ate one they weren't hot at all! I was just wondering if u knew anything about this. Thanks!

  • @SpoonierMilk - Hi there! I'm flattered that you felt inspired to grow hot peppers by watching my videos. If you want really hot peppers I wouldn't grow jalapenos, though. I haven't grown them for years. They take forever to ripen because of their thick walls, for one thing and because, as you stated, they simply aren't that hot. Cayennes or Serranos or Habaneros would all be hotter. Of course you can get much, much hotter than that as well. I'm sorry if I misled you. Thanks for watching!

  • Looking great! I've grown peppers for the first time this summer and they turned out great! Especially the cayenne pepper (my favourite!) Very nice garden :)

  • @JeSCTLesniowski - Thanks so much! I really appreciate that you watched my video and left a comment. It was really nice of you!

  • Looking good! Did you ever do anything with the Datil seeds?

  • @ExtremePeppers - Thanks for the compliment! I have the Datil seeds put away for next year. Our growing season is too short to try planting past March. I will definitely be growing them next year, though. Thanks again!

  • @SAK59 I can't wait to see how you like them. They are like a fatali but with a bit more kick.

  • @ExtremePeppers - I will definitely let you know when I start germinating them in the new year. Thank you again for the seeds!
