i have been licensed for 11 years as a funeral director and my firm just buried a man that was 6'8" we order a custom unit for him not all south carolina funeral home is like this one.this is horrible

ughh, without the family's permission? i wouldn't even ask one of my families if i could cut off someone's legs. glad they finally shut this place down. ive always heard in the old days that this was comoon practice, but this day in age, funeral homes should know better.

Im a funeral director here in the UK and one of the job description (and maybe for good reasons) is the correct spelling and grammar). To say you are an undertaker, your spelling and grammar are appalling,and would hate to think you are communicating with familes of the deceased in this way!

As a mortician this was a very sad sad story, that funeral director and or embalmer should have known better, they make oversized / custom built caskets, it's people like that make us look bad.

I'm a funeral director, and I can say that was a dumb move. It is obvious by his picture he wouldn't fit in a regular casket......that is why they make oversized caskets!

John Holmes had so much pork, he had to have a hole drilled at the top of his coffin so all that rod could be respectfuly coiled up on top, and they placed a silk towel over it so the visiting people would not be offended.

I am sure they would have waited of few days for the visitation to start so something like this wouldn't have happen. A incident like this reflects on all funeral professionals. People see this and think all funeral homes do this. That is not true, there are still reliable and dependable funeral professionals. I hope that family now owns that funeral home after this!

It sounds like the funeral home was just too lazy. I have been in funeral business for 10 years and been to mortuary school. They teach you how to bend a persons knees up to fit if they are tall. I can't believe they did not charge them with abuse of a corpse. They also make caskets for taller and bigger people. They could have just eaisly told the family he was not going to fit when they tried to put him in there and would need to order a custom casket. If the family was given that option...
