i bought a boerboel from these people and when my cousin had her baby over for xmas eve we didnt know what my puppy would do around a baby because hes never seen one. Amazingly he calmly approached the baby and gently licked her on the face and everyone was amazed! They are great dogs!
its definatley a boerboel. some just look really different than others. also these ones are still young. it is a terrific guard dog and in south africa they use it as a police dog, but it is also (if trained properly) a great dog for the family, and is compatible with even cats and chihuahuas. but still no matter how trained it is if you try to break into a house with a family that owns a boerboel, your pretty much screwed. i hope that helped.

was the purpose of this vid to educate owners that mature males aren't comfortable with close contact ? if so it failed. i am well aware of the 'breeding' purposes of this breed to 'protect the homestead ' - this doesn't predetermine a fate/destiny for him ,with early socialisation and discipline makes as good an extended family as many others. be an educated,informed - its about building relationships
One does not have a Boerboel. Congratulations on your beautiful family and beautiful dogs!

These are used to protect livestock in South Africa. They can even take down a lion if needs be. God I want one!
