I had a chance to drive the Blue Mule and Passed it up. The truck destroyed at the end of that movie was a double, and The owner of El Paco Candles and Gifts in National City California bought the origional Blue Mule. He offered me 11 cents a mile Loaded, and 7 cents a mile empty. from National city to Chicago to Florida and back. I Passed that job up, told Danny Chapman about it, he took the job, then 3 months later he forgot who sent him to the job, and tried to tell me he was the stuntman.LOL
@thedueltruck600 Well, even as young of a Driver I was ? And as Excited as I was that I had the chance to drive The Blue Mule ? Even sitting in its seat holding that steering wheel,, Thinking about it,,,7 Cents a mile for deadheading and 11 cents a mile loaded,,,,,,, $ 6.bucks an hour and almost 4 bucks empty an hour, just wasnt worth it. Hell, IM an O/O now and it's STILL Not worth it no more.
Oh by the way they had 5 Blue Mule's to play the character truck, I use to have the paper on the trucks from the movie straight from universal studio truck lots
