I am completely obsessed with grindcore, that doesn't mean I don't like deathcore, for instance bands like Beneath The Massacre, The Red Chord, even Whitechapel, all kick ass. That depends who you are though I guess. I think a lot of up and coming bands get a lot of shit because music has been recycled to such a high degree, respect doesn't come easily these days.
