  • this is also for the wii

  • I guess either one (My Aquarium and Aquatopia) is cheaper then having an actual fish and aquarium. And about the same with real and simulation when it comes to playing with your fish.

  • so cooooolll :D

    pity i dont have ps3

  • Won't the water ruin my tv??

  • @Cory1721

Only if it's a plasma TV.

Plasma is made up of roughly 92% water, the rest of the bulk is mainly white blood cells. If you offset this balance by adding more water than your picture quality will degrade significantly. This can occur if you use your TV as an aquarium, or even if you watch a movie with a lot of water footage (Point Break on Blu-Ray is an excellent film, but notorious for damaging plasma screens).

If you're using an LCD screen, you should be fine though.

  • @ThermalGoguh Thanks for having a sense of humor, most people would have said something hateful!! And those are very good points by the way.lol

  • Which is playstation download is better? "my aquarium" or aquatopia"? my aquarium is $5 in the playstation store and aquatopia is $2. but you can use the playstation camera with aquatopia and i don't know if you can with my aquarium. so which do you think is better?

  • @chris978820

    I don't know, I don't have a PlayStation Eye.

Supposedly Aquatopia is just a screensaver, whereas My Aquarium is a game that can also be a screensaver. The "game" part only has so much to do though. My Aquarium is useful to grab some easy trophies, but the best part is using it as a visualizer when you want to throw on some of your music and relax.

Aquatopia doesn't feature custom soundtracks, so I'd recommend spending the extra $3 for My Aquarium.

  • @ThermalGoguh what exactly can you do with my aquarium? i know that with aquatopia you can use your hands to feed the fish and use your hands to scare the fish or move the water with your hands. but what can you do with my aquarium?

  • @chris978820

Nothing gesture-based. Basically you can select a tank size, floor, background, and add items (plants, rocks, models, etc). You can put fish in (although you have to watch which species you mix - some fish will eat other fish), change the lighting, and then watch them swim around. Fish feeding is done with the controller, as is "knocking" on the glass.

It's really more something you view, as opposed to something like Aquatopia that you interact with.

  • So can u play your own music?

  • @AWarlordsView

You can play your own music off of the PS3's hard drive while you are playing the game, but you cannot play your own music while you are recording video.

Otherwise I would have bumped some funky-fresh beats for this video.

  • How do you unlock ALL of the fish as i have most but am missing a few?

  • @GingerCallum999

The manual says they are unlocked "every few days", but it seems like getting your fish to breed will unlock new fish quicker.

If you put 30-50 Neon Tetra in a large tank and feed them once a day, after a few days they will start breeding like crazy, so that's an easy way to get the breeding trophies.

If you make another tank like that and throw in a couple of Asian Arowanas you'll have the predation trophies fairly soon as well.

  • How much is this ??

  • @Albanez39 5 Dollars

  • Silver:

Aquarium Master - Put fish in all six aquariums and added objects

Breeding master - Bred successfully at least 20 times

Critical Limits Master - Placed 100 fish in a tank at the same time

Mix Master - Placed 25 different types of fish in a tank at the same time

    Gold:

My Aquarium Master - Unlocked all fish.

  • Bronze:

My Aquarium Novice - Added 10 or more fish

Carnivore Novice - Added a Yellow Piranha

Predator Novice - Fed 1 fish to another fish

Light Show Novice - Viewed a special date light show

Predator Master - Fed 10 or more fish to other fish

Breeding Novice - Bred successfully at least five times

  • Yeah but the Wii version doesn't have Real Time Fish Management™.

The logo only shows up when the video is uploaded.

    The game does have trophies.

  • This is also on the Wii....has been for years...but ok.

  • Does that logo show on your screen, or is just on the upload?

  • @thique1 ....... only on the upload the logo appears

  • does the game have trophies to earn?

  • It's sort of a game, but I guess it's more of an aquarium simulator. I don't know how realistic the fish behavior is (my experience with fish doesn't really go beyond eating them), but the manual says that large fish may eat smaller fish.

As for a screensaver, it's not bad if you're tired of watching the Earth spin around or wavy lines.

  • This game is so intense!

  • This is a game? I was hoping they release something like this as a screensaver so while I charge up my ps3 controller I can have something relaxing on.
