The 717 - although "technically" in the Boeing inventory - was not developed by Boeing. It was developed by McDonnell-Douglas as the MD-95. (Meant to replace the aging DC-9s)

When Boeing bought McDonnell-Douglas in 1997, they continued the project (at the time still under development) under the name "717."

So you see.. it's not really an original Boeing airplane, and I think that's why they left it out of this video.

If I were an airline CEO, I would only trust and buy a fleet of aircraft from Boeing. Airbus makes decent planes, but they simply do not have the experience of over 90 years in the business as Boeing has accomplished.

The 717 has actually never been a "real" Boeing plane since it it based on the MD-95 and after Boeing baught MD they called the plane 717.
