Its amazing how much the UC fanboy's bash on anything that's after the UC timeline grow the fuck up already. I been watching gundam since 8th ms team and have enjoyed gundam ever since then aside from age that is not to much something I like but this fanboy's shot over one timeline in the gundam universe is sad call same for anyone who bashes on the UC timeline you call yourselves fans but you sure aren't showing it.
Seed was a poorly implemented homage to U.C., so not only was it a knock off for the most part but a bad one at that. If I have to say one thing about Gundam Series within the last Decade, the had potential but were basically destroyed by their creators to be of anything worth value I mean hell the series that showed the most promise, gunpla builders, got the least amount of notice. Because lets be honest if it actually took off as a series could you picture bandai trying to work out a that game
@astroception who knows? maybe because Sunrise/Bandai felt that Unicorn would be better as a 6 episode OVA with a high film-grade budget that would do the novels justice and AGE be the standard series to bring in new audiences.
You know, like I said in another Gundam, none of us are ever going to agree on what Gundam show, so what is the point in discussing it or bashing anybody whose opinions differ from yours? Is it THAT important that a bunch of faceless people behind computers agree with you?
Also, why is it that the only truly terrible Gundam show, SD Gundam Force, is never brought up? I mean that one sucks far worse than the allegedly bad G, Wing, SEED, Destiny, 00 and all those other shows. And it isn't mention.
And, I'm going to add in a comment that actually has something to do with this video. The video player is extremely weird and finicky, and stops and needs to reload whenever you do anything with it. They need to seriously re-upload it and fix those problems.
It's very annoying. Though I'm kind of split by what is more annoying, this video, or the people commenting on the video who aren't talking about this same problem me and you are having with this video.
Still, they really need to fix the problems with this video, I already checked it on three different browsers to see if that was the problem and its definitely the video.

Just watched this episode, and I wasnt really sure what to expect, since I always prefer my Gundams in space, but it exceeded my expectations, and even left me a tad teary at the end. Now I've gotta wait till January till the next OVA.
@EATSFALCONPUNCH You're going to hate ZZ just telling you now. And of course you're loving Zeta. It set the standard for all mecha to date lol. But you should watch Chars Counter Attack to since Unicorn takes place 3 years after that.
Watch ZZ and find out. After watching the first Unicorn episode, I decided to get ahold of the older series, loved 0079 and Zeta, but ZZ is just a horrible mess of a show. It does have relevance to the story though, and it gets a whole lot better towards the end of the series, not to mention containing a favourite Gundam character, Puru Elpeo. Its just a matter of getting past the hideous mess that is the first 30 odd episodes.
@EATSFALCONPUNCH It actually is all mecha. Pretty much it's the one that started it all and shaped what the genre is today. That's why it's held in such high regard. You will hate ZZ because ZZ is slow and clunky, plus most the characters from Zeta are no where to be found, and also the main characters is retarded. That's why A New Translation was Made (Remake of Zeta Gundam) it changed the outcome of Zeta gundam.
I really find fault in that logic, MSG started the Real Robot Wars genre, and Super Robot Wars preceded MSG, the characters, from what I hear, seem a lot more cheerful (that is until most of them die) in ZZ than all of the other Gundam series (besides of course Turn A, which was pretty bubbly as well)
@EATSFALCONPUNCH Super Robots Wars didn't preceded MSG at all. That came out in 1991, MSG came out in 1979. MSG true had an affect on the Real Robot Wars genre but Also had an affect on sci fi and an even greater affect on the mecha Genre. You can look at almost every mecha anime and see some aspect from gundam used. True me ZZ is probably the worst gundam in history and also most characters don't really die in ZZ too.

Seed also isn't that crappy. It's worst than Wing but overall it's ok. Just has to much romance. Actually Seed was suppose to be a tribute to Zeta and double Zeta (With destiny) but it failed.

I've figured out alot of most of it though. And I'm REALLY hoping the new Frozen teardrops Novel gets popular or even gets animated! XD Imagine Wing with these graphics! If they were original like Wing, 00, G Gundam, hell even regular Seed the series would have been much better. Secondly two of there top Gundam's were so un-original it hurts. But I'm not getting into that. Don't want the wrath of the Seed fans.

@Vert344 Yup I noticed that too. Funny thing is Seed and Destiny where the first actual gundam series I watched. I did watch endless waltz before hand but I never naw the tv series until about 2 or 3 years ago. And then when they change Kira's and Athrun's fighting style I was like you pansies lol.
@obscuresword Well Athrun's fighting style they actually made minimal changes to. But Kira was were they made MASSIVE changes too. When he was in the Strike Gundam he was amazing! He could do a little of everything! His fighting style was well balanced. They kept Athrun's close range fighting style, they just really gave him a few options with some more mid range weapons. But Kira went from being a blanced fighter to a long range fighter, Hence the Dragoon's and targeting system.
@obscuresword As for the well balanced fighter they made Shin the all around guy. He has the Speed and close range ability of Athrun and can fight at long range if needed like Kira. But yes I liked Kira more when he piloted the Strike Gundam or the ORIGINAL Freedom more than the Strike Freedom. As for Shin... give him some therapy and I think he'll be cool. And Athrun.... well what is there to say about him other than he own's them both in a serious one on one fight! XD Lol
I appreciated the fact that Bright Noa was still the authoritative no-nonsense captain. And I also appreciated that he had the portrait of a dear old friend in his office.

@GNXR Sitting through the first 29 + episodes of SEED felt mroe like a chore than enjoying and watching and wanting to watch the next episode. The first 6 eps were good and OK, but i felt some were there just to fill the plot. some didnt advance the plot at all. the story arc with Androw Watfeld in the desert almost made me fall asleep, was expecting epicness with the BU CUEs and all i got was a gundam fighting a dog. Still going to watch Destiny, Stargazer is what it should have been, sigh

Watch ZZ and find out. After watching the first Unicorn episode, I decided to get ahold of the older series, loved 0079 and Zeta, but ZZ is just a horrible mess of a show. It does have relevance to the story though, and it gets a whole lot better towards the end of the series, not to mention containing a favourite Gundam character, Puru Elpeo. Its just a matter of getting past the hideous mess that is the first 30 odd episodes.

You will hate ZZ because ZZ is slow and clunky, plus most the characters from Zeta are no where to be found, and also the main characters is retarded. That's why A New Translation was Made (Remake of Zeta Gundam) it changed the outcome of Zeta gundam.

I really find fault in that logic, MSG started the Real Robot Wars genre, and Super Robot Wars preceded MSG, the characters, from what I hear, seem a lot more cheerful (that is until most of them die) in ZZ than all of the other Gundam series (besides of course Turn A, which was pretty bubbly as well)

@EATSFALCONPUNCH Super Robots Wars didn't preceded MSG at all. That came out in 1991, MSG came out in 1979. MSG true had an affect on the Real Robot Wars genre but Also had an affect on sci fi and an even greater affect on the mecha Genre. You can look at almost every mecha anime and see some aspect from gundam used. True me ZZ is probably the worst gundam in history and also most characters don't really die in ZZ too.

Seed also isn't that crappy. It's worst than Wing but overall it's ok. Just has to much romance. Actually Seed was suppose to be a tribute to Zeta and double Zeta (With destiny) but it failed.

@obscuresword The thing with Wing is that like alot of Gundam series are alot of back story Manga's and novels that you have to find and read to understand it. I've figured out alot of most of it though. And I'm REALLY hoping the new Frozen teardrops Novel gets popular or even gets animated! XD Imagine Wing with these graphics! I can feel the epicness from here. Lol And Seed was so so. Destiny they started off good and failed half way through. Like one group starts it and another finishes it.

@obscuresword Destiny really did. It HAD so much potential at the start like Seed but then its like they got REALLY lazy. The action kinda fell off and in almost all of the battles it was like they copied and pasted the fights! Same stuff over and over. If they were original like Wing, 00, G Gundam, hell even regular Seed the series would have been much better. Secondly two of there top Gundam's were so un-original it hurts. But I'm not getting into that. Don't want the wrath of the Seed fans.

@obscuresword Well Athrun's fighting style they actually made minimal changes to. But Kira was were they made MASSIVE changes too. When he was in the Strike Gundam he was amazing! He could do a little of everything! His fighting style was well balanced. They kept Athrun's close range fighting style, they just really gave him a few options with some more mid range weapons. But Kira went from being a blanced fighter to a long range fighter, Hence the Dragoon's and targeting system.

@obscuresword As for the well balanced fighter they made Shin the all around guy. He has the Speed and close range ability of Athrun and can fight at long range if needed like Kira. But yes I liked Kira more when he piloted the Strike Gundam or the ORIGINAL Freedom more than the Strike Freedom. As for Shin... give him some therapy and I think he'll be cool. And Athrun.... well what is there to say about him other than he own's them both in a serious one on one fight! XD Lol

@GNXR Sitting through the first 29 + episodes of SEED felt mroe like a chore than enjoying and watching and wanting to watch the next episode. The first 6 eps were good and OK, but i felt some were there just to fill the plot. some didnt advance the plot at all. the story arc with Androw Watfeld in the desert almost made me fall asleep, was expecting epicness with the BU CUEs and all i got was a gundam fighting a dog. Still going to watch Destiny, Stargazer is what it should have been, sigh
