Why is it that in America you always blame government for everything but never do anything about it. When republicans are in power they might cut taxes but they dont decrease spending. Democrats dont even promise to cut taxes. Declare a civil war or something, get rid of your government already. American public is like a child, blame parents for everything but still they need to have their parents around. Move to Somalia if you hate government so much.
@Redlin5 i think my father said that to me once... only it wasn't a ledge and all i can remember is a flamethrower, a pool of sharks and a jar of peanutbutter
@TOWIFELGA rubbish, Americans lived on maxed out credit cards and easy payment short term loans long before Clinton. The banks and car financing companies in the US lived and still live on that.
It was a matter of time till something like this would happen. Everyone was hoping that it would happen later rather than sooner.
@BonbonBobos you can make a generalization when the vast majority of a certain nation acts in a certain way. You may have exceptions to the rule, but that's why you have a stated rule - because it applies in most cases.
@archivesbc Ohh so you have access to extensive research data, spanning from 'long before Clinton', that proves it is a 'vast' majority. What percentage, exactly, when Clinton was in office, and now, of Americans live on maxed out credit cards and short term loans?
@BonbonBobos I actually do have access to that data, but for obvious reasons it's not accessible to the public. The question is why you think that it is a fallacy? Do the majority of the people you know have no or negligible debt carried over each month?
@zxcvbnmjhgfdsa1 Average American...NOT every American. It makes me so mad to hear people talk about how Americans max out credit cards and waste money when my parents went through so much and created a good life for me based on nothing but hard work. They don't have a credit card and they aren't foolish. Neither am I, and I don't look forward to starting my own life in a world that, because of my nationality, thinks it knows my financial information.
@BonbonBobos It's too bad that your the exception and that there is not enough exception to save society from inevitable bankruptcy. It won't matter that you save if the government can't pave the roads. Look into emigration, in other countries the curency will be worth something.

@archivesbc Correction: many Americans. Almost any generalization that encompasses an entire nation is not only incorrect but hurtful.
