way different here in Peshawar...they use butter fly instead of plastic canola!....and i regulate my BT my self...i tell the nurses to stay away....the nurses here are not that aware of medical science...and plus...i have to sit in a hall with 50+ people...all those children crying and screaming makes me pull out my hair...i used to have my transfusions at home...but then i started having them back at the FATMID thalassemia foundation
@nangialay Ya guess we are at the boat when come to hospital or centre where there are children, crying and screaming can't be avoid. Now I am at Singapore General Hospital, they get back to used filter and saline water mostly before and near the end of the blood tansfusion. Thanks for sharing bro:D
Where is the normal saline?? You need to prime the line with normal saline first before you give the blood. And if the patient has a reaction, you need to stop the blood and let the saline run.

@SuperYoutub8 oh.. we are usually using bt set with a y set tubing in lined of course with normal saline. it will be easier to terminate the set if there are untoward reactions. know what i mean. well thanks for ur reply by the way.
@SuperYoutub8 by the way ur from singapore i have checked ur profile... nurses are in demand in ur country.. singapore oh a very nice and rich country and nurses are paid pretty good compared here in the philippines we are paid like 8 to 10 thousand pesos that will be around 285 singapore dollars.. that is why most nurses here tends to work abroad.

i don't use filter..i tell the BT center to wash my blood before transfusion and i usually take medicine before BT....
