@kpkracing my fault, i missed that in the description. wtf is making that vibrating sound when you accelerate? i recently put a velineon 3m ESC and a leopard 3930kv motor in mine and guessed it was the driveshaft because mine does that starting at 3/4 throttle when i run 2s.
@jwrx7tt01 The body drags on the ground slightly and the inner foam from the tyre rubs a bit on the body towards the end when it pops out. Thats why I use foam tyres because the rubber tyres can't handle the power and come unglued.
@jwrx7tt01 What kv is you motor? And what batteries do you use? And it's not the only reason I prefer foam. Foam lasts longer and generally you can get better grip out of them. To get good quality rubber you need to spend a lot of money. You can get decent foam for cheap.
@jwrx7tt01 That's why you don't destroy tyres. I'm using 11.1v 3-cell LiPo's. 47,730rpm compared to 30,960rpm. Rubber will be fine for you if you stay with those batteries.
@sweir127 The information booklet that came with it says it can only work with 2 cell LiPo or 4-6 cell NiMh. I didn't change or do anything to the fan and it still works fine. I could've just got lucky though. If it burns out, no biggie, I'll just get a new fan (a 12V one this time though)
No problem at all! Although I thought I might ask why are you getting a brushed motor? Didn't you say you got the same motor and esc as mine? A 19T bushed motor is a big down-grade. Not to mention brushed motors require maintenance.
i dont think that there is anything wrong with it. Its hard to say, each motor is different. Brushless motors are relatively quiet (but so are most electric motors, in general). If your motor isnt pushing any gears then yes, it will obviously be very silent, a lot of the noise created by the car is from the gears.
Haha thanks mate! My mate has a 5.5T brushless in his and it is mental. Although I think it has too much power. The spur gear doesn't agree with the amount of power it has
Things will always go worng in the world of RC. There are a lot of stresses put on the vehicles and they are destined to break in some way at some point. The only advice i can give is to do your reseach. rcuniverse is a huge website with good forums and the people on there will be able to tell you everything you want to know. Its where I get all my info.
I think you mean pinion. Pinion gears are the ones on the motor shaft, spurs are the bigger gears with more teeth. I'm using a 20T pinion I think and the stock 61T spur. A larger pinion and smaller spur will give you more top speed. A smaller pinion and bigger spur will give you better acceleration. The only difference a drift car needs over an on road touring car is drift tyres. Thats the only thing I change when I want to drift. Take a look at my other vids, I have a drift one.
I'm not too sure. I haven't had any problems with grinding down the teeth. Make sure the motor is screwed into the correct part of the motor mount, depending on how many teeth you're running on the pinion. It becomes useless when running it with a spur or pinion with missing teeth, and it should be replaced. When running brushless you should ease on the throttle to avoid placing too much stress on the car. And dont go from full forward to full reverse. This is a good way to destroy gears.
Race bearings are one of the first upgrades you should do, especially if you are going to go brushless. The stock bushings restrict the whole car. The aluminium arms are pretty much just for aesthetic appeal. They add strength also, but the stock plastic ones work just as good!
Not too sure, I don't bother with Nimh...there is no point. My guess is less than half the speed, around 30km/h. If you are going to invest in a brushless system, you should be using LiPo, to reach its full potential

@viciousroadietom I'm pretty sure it was the partly unglued tyres vibrating against the body

Im using 13t brushless its fast but not too fast that u cant handle it
GenetiX881 4 months ago
would u guys recommend a 9t for drifting?
50nollieman 7 months ago
@50nollieman You can use anything for drifting really, you just need drift tyres. But yeah, it works fine for me.
kpkracing 7 months ago
lol.....stop using crappy tires
tanghonuen88 7 months ago
@tanghonuen88 Those tyres were pretty good actually, just not for a 9T brushless....

@kpkracing u know... the one that came stock with the car
jwrx7tt01 1 year ago
@jwrx7tt01 Oh, you're referring to the battery connector. No, I don't use Tamiya plugs, they are rubbish. I only use deans connectors.

@kpkracing ok thanks. btw i can hear this rubbing sound in the vid. is it the body or something?

@kpkracing same kv as urs (4300 i suspect its the same one) i use 7.2V nimh. Maybe i'll switch over to foam then

Would a 9 t be faster than a 13t?plz reply as I am looking into buying a brushless motor. I would be grate ful if someone could answer
stuvy72 1 year ago
@stuvy72 Yes a 9T would be faster. Generally, the lower the turn count, the higher the kv rating (higher rpm=faster turning motor)

cheers

i have same tt01 chassis, and i reach 78km/h with same motor (9T Ezrun) but with 2s lipo.
