  • My birthday is April 30th! XD I am so dead!

  • What did the people expected. She was an elderly lady with very poor medical treatment.

  • 03:59 shows a poster of vampire hunter D ,awsome!!!

  • Has anybody noticed the similarity between the names Eleonora and Lenore. Lenore is the name of the women in Edgar Allan Poe's famous poem, The Raven. Just wondering...

  • How hard would it be to "milk a wolf"? I would venture to guess that wasn't wolves milk she thought she was drinking. What person in their right mind is going to try and milk a wild wolf and keep his hands ?

  • Hmmmmm! Check me out under Tough Times For Spiderman on youtube!

  • Try out this vampire game, you wont be disappointed.

forsakenclans com / index. php? REF=18182

  • this is good

  • HEY ON 1:05 -1:06 ITS LIKE "' YEAH YEAH"

  • Thanks to whoever puts these on. it is interesting, and myths and legends come from facts and truth just passed down and thoughts injected into them making them myths/legends.

  • Okay off the vampire topic but its's interesting that a woman known to be dying is accused of having shortness of breath and panic attacks for a true medical malady.

The narrator didn't even listlen to what was said. He said panic attack. How many woman shall die faster or in more pain due the misdiagnosis of panics attacks.

  • Wolf's milk lol? I think the source of her conception was not so magical as it was practical. So many men in the aristocracy were sterile, or suffered from some kind of sexual dysfunction, because of centuries of inbreeding. For example, Catherine The Great couldn't conceive with her husband, but took a lover in order to successfully do her duty. I wouldn't be surprised if Eleonora got tired of waiting on her husband and did the same to help cement her position.

  • sad

  • Never knew there was so much to know about vampires...

  • I like this, but at 36:10 the audio goes out of synch.

  • THIS IS GOOD OF COURSE WE ARE INTO THE VAMPIRE STUFF ANY WAY LOL

  • They act like they don't already know that rocks were used to put in the mouth and/or on the limbs or the heads were dismemebered to prevent vampires from being "created". I just find it funny is all. Maybe they were buried north/south to personify that they people they reburied were damned to hell? Buring them the east to west way would be a respectful burial so therefore they just pointed them the "unholy" way. Just a thought.

  • COOOOOOOL! O.M.G. lol jk I have never heard of this. & I am vampire/paranormal researcher. It's crazy that I stumbled onto this vid..... Maybe for a reason?

  • wow, interesting. I've learned alot today.!

  • um i don't really want to say anything +girls in my class think i am a vampire

  • @123mermaidvampire ok, I have to ask; why do the girls in your class think you're a vampyre?

  • Is This True Or False I Liked It Is Good To Learn About

  • So cool!!! I'm from Bohemia:-) And this is sooooo amazing!!!! :-). .

  • Congratulations.

  • i am a Wiccan

  • Christ was born in July and im shocked noone said it

  • Which Christ?

  • @Chroniclesof714 I thought he was born in December?

  • Dracula was based off of Vlad Tepes and Elizabeth Bathory.

  • Yeah Vlad the Impaler

  • Evidence is inconclusive

  • please buy the author christine feehans books can you make a movie about the charicters of christine feehans

  • this was shown in Monsterquest from the History Channel

  • awesome.... I love vampires

  • they scare the crap out of me

  • This is new material for me and I will incorporate some of it mythology and methods into my book "Written In BLOOD" ,the 8th book in my vampire series Children of The Dragon. I did not know anything about this princess, but the documentary helped me to understand some of the strange perceptions and superstitions associated with vampirism of that time. Thanks also to the Smithsonian Channel for doing a better job of presenting history than the History Channel does.

  • Not at all, I believe there a certain messages in our dreams that could really mean something. I'm also a scientist but I can believe there are somethings that just can't be explained with science. Dreams can mean a lot different things so who knows.

  • @KronicAdiktion

hey,i am completely aware of the fact your are a scientist but can you help me with my dream?I fear 2 large groups figthing.i tell them to stop but they wont.i am aslo traped in a volcano that the more i try to get out the more i am stuck.I also dream of me at a house i have never lived at before and t's down hill but uphill there is a driveway with cars passing by.then i get bit by a spider.this dreams haunts me at least twice a year.please help me,it would mean alot.

  • @smokingrockstar Alot of what you described sounds like visions of past lives

  • wow!

  • this is crazy.

    poor woman.

this was very cool to learn about.

  • Poor Eleonora they Buried her like she was a horrible beast, which i so doubt .what do you guys think, they havent even inscribed the words she wanted on her tombstone :/

  • well that goes to show that their were assholes back in time.lol

  • Lol

  • @luvebug21 pepperoni or sausage

  • @Mondas2007 WHAT? :O

  • @luvebug21 yeah it is quite fascinating actually she was quite litterally insane but at the same time very interesting. i mean come on bathing in blood? like seriously that is just nuts but hey whatever to each there own i guess huh?

  • @luvebug21

It's sad but never forget that she lived a life of luxory while the majority of people lived and died in horrible poverty, probably having just barely enought to survive. So don't feel too bad for her.

  • @luvebug21 not bad as wat they did to elizabeth bathory, walled her up in small room inside her castle til eventually she not only starved to death but went completley insane (not that she wasnt already it just added to it) then died in ther they left the body for awhile (if not altogether) b4 geting it out and takin care of it. she lasted a whole year in there all bricked up alone and completley mad (ben a while sinc been in school so chec up on that and let me no if completly correct)

  • @johnskitty1 Wow what you said is fascinating

  • Got damn im readin all these comments and i feel dumb as hell how the fuck do u ppl knw all this stuff... do yall jst sit ther for 30 to an hour and research this shit and then type it out as an arguement against each other

  • Comment removed

  • Actually found this to be really interest the whole way through. Its history too. I dont find myself interested with history but this was fascinating like the history of the witch hunt and other tales. Like the the saying that tales and myth had to have come from somewhere true thing. *shrug* im going to fav this....lol. VAMPIRE HUNTER D YEAH! xD

  • 18:44

A pineapple? I sincerely doubt Austrians were even aware of pineapples during this time. Small thing, but it bothered me. This is still utterly fascinating--can't stop watching!

  • Oh , by the way it says in luke , "In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world . This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria . And everyone went to his own town to register ."

Mary and Joseph went to joseph's home town of bethlehem to take part in this census .

There is proof this census was taken . The information given in the verses is correct . The census would have been taken sometime in the spring

  • benlahnger , Christmas is the day of the winter solstice because the days get lighter and longer . The day is symbolic because Christ is the Light of the world . No we do not know Christ's birthday but I believe it is the best day to celebrate it on .

  • Actually the Julian calendar had the 25th as the date they celebrated the Winter Solstice. So scientifically they were off by 2 or 3 days. That was the date it was officially observed by their calendar at that time, and the Christians stole that date. Fact. If you want to talk about kindergarten logic, tell me why Christians don't celebrate Christ's birth on his actual birthday?

  • Look at it scientifically. We have vampiric plants (Venus Flytrap) Vampiric bugs (Mosquito, bedbugs, fleas) Vampiric animals (Vampire bats) So is it so crazy to believe that maybe there is a vampiric variant of humans?

  • I believe you.. I have seen a few myself but they are not what you would expect

  • Yes it is, i love Black Metal and goth as much as the next guy, but humans cannot subsist on blood. They can't digest an entire pint without throwing up due to the high protein content and they certainly can't absorb all their nutrients from it . Also, a venus fly trap is not really a vampire , they dont walk around sucking blood out of creatures . Sheesh . Did'nt you just see this documentary that debunked such notions?

  • Hey, hey, hey kiddos ... let's keep Christ in Christmas ... and keep him out of Halloween where he doesn't belong. Oh hell, let's talk about Christmas while we're at it. The pagans were celebrating the Winter Solstice on December 25 long before Christ was born. The Christians just stole the date because they weren't sure what Christ's birth date was and wanted to coopt the pagan holiday. Where do you think the tree, gifts and yule log all come from. So leave Christ out of Christmas too! Ha!!!

  • well actually Winter Solstice happens December 21st or 22nd, which means the pagans were celebrating it on the wrong day or just chose to celebrate it on the 25th for other reasons, Christians didn't steal any date since winter solstice isnt even on that date they used, also they do know what his birth date is.

please don't comment if all you can present in your argument is kindergarten logic

  • aww geese cant we have one samhain (sow in) with out the christians going all ape nut over devil worship.., samhain is to honor the dead not worship the devil get it right before you act stupid

  • Great Hecate, can't we have one Halloween, without all you pagans getting on your soapbox about Samhain.?

  • your funny,.

  • thanks!...I'm just kidding with you :D...BLessed Be! )O(

  • @souixs2 I know this is late but I just saw your comment and wanted to say well said and ask are you pagan or wiccan?

  • This scared the vagevas out of me! Creepy

  • I am celtic witch

  • So am I.

  • Islam and Judaism both have the prophets , including Moses . islam believes that Mohammed was the LAST prophet while Judaism says that the Messiah will come fullfilling the old testament prophecies . Jews today still believe that the Messiah has not returned . Christians belive that Jesus is the Messiah . So the Jews believe through the old testament in the Bible while Christians believe in the old and new testaments .

  • boring

  • Very well made documentary, but sadly the audio track was grossly misaligned with the video by several minutes. Made this hard to view. I rather wish I could have seen this on the Discovery channel instead of here so I could enjoy this better.

  • wtf is on her face during the outside gala scene...

  • There's a Vampire Hunter D: Blood Lust poster lol..

  • i liked it , i dont belive in vampires but i like to think to my self , what if ?

What if vampires are real ?

Kinda like "What if Aliens are real"(i see em jumpin da border all da time lol , no not that kind of aliens) i mean would god make all of the galixies he made and make only one plant out of all the solar systems in all of the galixies able to support life?Maybe the superman story is right (without the ppl having powers) maybe we take turns being the only planet .

    Now discuss that!!lol

  • I like to think anythings possible...Life is just much more interesting that way :D

  • @wickd1964 I agree and blessed be fellow goddess childe

  • The 3 skeletons were placed north south, big deal, they were probably just Jewish.

  • What are you talking about, Islam was Judaism back then. then again, I'm pretty sure Christianity came from that too.

  • Just so you know I was kidding. I'm not that done.

  • Interesting...

  • how u get vids past 10 mins?

  • very interesting.. i give it that...but as a vampire legend lover and reader.. i believe they were all dumb ass hell, and there is no such thing only dead people..but i loved the video

  • i think you missed the point of the documentary. these finds are here to DEBUNK the possibility of vampires and to investigate the inspiration of why such creatures exist in fiction..

  • WOW! how does the vampire princess look in her cement cage??

  • scary ass

  • maybe you should have watched the video ... you know, get the facts rather than just go by the title? I watched it WITH my son to educate him on the origin of the legends.

  • i thought this wuz going to be a cheesy movie

  • why does that doctor 12 different versions of dracula?

  • This was really quite interesting and enjoyable. At first I thought this was going to be a movie, but this is so much better because it's based on real facts. =]

Oh man, and that Silvia Hladky did a fantastic job, especially since she had no lines and had to communicate just with her body. Great facial expressions, and the makeup was eerily spectacular.

  • grrrr this is so out of sync its annoying me!

  • okay when the end wwhen he said rise from the dead i was scared

  • this is pretty cool and interesting...

  • ello

  • you thought smithsonianchannel would upload a movie about sparkly vampires?

  • Oh hell yeah! Instead now I'm watching Dane cook

  • twilight freak

  • At least this is based in facts, not riddled with little symbolism, underdeveloped characters, little to no use of syntax. Another point I'd like to mention, the author of twilight writes in a undeveloped, immature voice. Most of the story is contrite and unoriginal. However, I like that fact that more people read b/c of her. I simply wish she wrote more eloquently. Anyway, hope I haven't offended you since you like her story.

  • frodobaggins115, it looked like you wanted to know

  • The original dracula was a real transylvanian prince. He was Prince Vlad III. Look him up. I studied this in highschool

  • under what ,Prince Vlad 111????

  • Prince Vlad the third. Otherwise known as Dracula. His father joined the order of the dragon and was rafered to as Dracul (meaning dragon). Dracula means son of the dragon. The Prince is hailed as a hero because he kept the turks from controlling his homeland for longer then any prince before him. Though some of his methods were a bit harsh. He would have people put on stakes (mostly turks but sometimes his own citizens) and eat while watching them die, sometimes dipping his bread in blood

  • @TheRaenef09 Very nice to see someone who knows some of the facts about Vlad and not just the myths

  • eww.. I really didn't ned to know that about a decomposing body.. xD

  • when it gets to 45 mins it stops playing

  • 24:57 wth..

  • you're boring

  • that was a total waste of my perfectly good candy eating time...well that sucked!

  • has anyone seen this very original instrumental band? their sound is perfect for a soundtrack. search for "Radium Karmara"

  • wow 53 minutes geez

  • Fantastic!

  • Search for: "David Dub"

  • It's weird to think that people used to actually behead dead bodies because they were afraid they were vampires. I'd be pissed if someone dug up my body and beheaded me!!

  • that was really odd!!! i wonder.... was she really a vampire? oh that was really interesting kinda boring but pretty cool.... happy haloween have fun doing whatever

  • poor medical treatments back then

  • interesting!!

  • HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE! I hope you all have a safe and spooky Halloween! :)

  • i love these historical halloween shows

  • oh elizabeth bathory you never do get the attention you sooo deserve

  • She's super freaky. I was totally creeped out when I watched a documentary about her.

  • zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • interesting xD

  • very interesting

  • sweetness.

  • i think its kind or cool too. but also kind of rude just to rekill and dead person. does anyone watch vampire diaries? thats a good vampire show.

  • when i said its not real i did mean that the skeletons were real, BUT not the vamps...sorry wasnt clear there.

  • SEEMS FAKE

  • HAPPY HALLOWEEN FELLOW YOUTUBERS!

  • this was interesting

  • Did she suck anyones blood?

  • Im pretty she drank it. And bathed in it.

  • lol

  • That was what I heard. What if she was just a human, but she believed in something strange that made her drank her servants' blood.

  • I heard that too...she wanted to stay 'young' forever....and she felt that if she took the blood of her servents, esp. the virgins....then she would live forever...she was a complete nutcase!

  • Wrong royalty.

  • If the skeletons were alive they would all be like don't tread on me! or Stop walkin' on mah grave! LOL interesting though.

  • perfect creature was a good vampire movie :O steampunk and vampires in one :O

  • cool I'm going to watch this later with my boyfriend

  • interesting...but NOT REAL!!!! IDIOTS

  • actually the skeletons are real and everything else except the fact that there real vamps... these things did use to happen

  • stop dissing twilight its different!!! i liked it.. directors got to change its always the same thing vampire rises suck the blood of people they kill him thank god for movies like twilight, true blood, blade and the vampire chronicle not the same old bloodsucking fiend. change is good

  • Its different because twilight sucks.

  • to each his/her own

  • Yeah, it's good to dumb down movies to appease the ignorant masses. Twilight is for people with half a functioning brain.

Watch Herzog's "Nosferatu" or "Let the Right One In" to see a good vampire movie.

  • Let the Right One In was definitely an amazing movie.

  • you people got no sense of dignity.your a bunch of asswipes

  • I agree with you, but i still like The Lost Boys ;p

  • I am white and I just think its interesting. Let us not be racist guys! Its 2009, for crying out loud!

  • Interesting, though a bit far-fetched. Most of what they tell us is based on scant evidence... and it's a little bit sketchy that they decided to investigate Bohemia after finding the skeletons just because it was mentioned in a poem... still, great way to get into the Halloween mood! :)

  • white people of course wil belEvie vampiress are REALL FUKINGG WERIODOSSSS WHO BELVIES IN FUKCKINGG VAMPIRES YA MOTHERFUKERS NEED TO GROW UP!@

  • At least white people know how to spell and speak english correctly. How about you stfu you ignorant dip-shit.

  • Let me guess misssugar....you're one of those people that thought that michael jackson was the shit and oj was innocent right?

  • so true, white people believe in vampires(sarcasm), and Africans believe in witch doctors and ritual scarring. The ancient Japanese believed in dragons bones, which were actually chicken bones that emperors used to ask the gods questions. Chinese customs used to guard against the angry ghost of ancestors. WE ALL HAVE OUR HISTORIES. that doesn't mean we believe in Vampires, or do you believe in the practices I mentioned above. Please be openminded, and try not to judge others. I will do the same

  • I ALREADY SAW THIS

    STUPID RE- RUNS

  • i thought the movies could'nt be more than 10 mins

  • fail
