I know the guitarists i see as influential arent seen by all as influential. I know I missed a couple obvious ones, but they dont necessarily reflect the music I like to play. I play rock, funk, metal, and ska. These guitarists reflect these styles. I know jack Johnson is "out there", but if you listen to his playing styles then you may start to start to appreciate his playing. His use of unique chords and raking are styles that, when mixed together, can create good acoustic choruses (chor
What about Steve Vai, Jeff Beck, Dimebag, Zakk Wylde, Yngwie Malmsteen, Satriani, Uli John Roth, Michael Schenker, Gary Moore, John McLaughlin. What about the two guitarists from Slayer, King and Hanneman??? Shit dude, Jack Johnson LMAO!!!!
No one ever remembers George Harrison. He may not have been the most technical guitarist, but was still a great one nonetheless. Also he influenced MANY other guitarists. Before Page, Clapton ,Gilmour and Hendrix, there was George.
But these should be the most influential for metal/rock/punk...
Or else if it is for all guitarists, you forgot Pat Metheny, Joe Pass, WES MONTGOMERY for jazz...
BB King, Albert King, ROBERT JOHNSON for blues...
Also you missed Carlos Santana, John Fogerty, hell even Slash would be considered very influential, so is Kurt Cobain, Steve Vai, Duane Allman, Frank Zappa, Chuck Berry, George Harrison. JEFF BECK! Man! You missed a lot of influential guitarists!!!
hey man his acoustic playin has influenced me, i said that it was chosen on music i listened to and reflected me, he was a little out there ill giv u that but i was influenced by him

@jakesnake64 if you want to be inspired by an acoustic guitar player, singer and songwriter all in one, go and check out Monte Montgomery.
