Plus he bringing back Doc Ock, i heard he making him a Doctor Doom Level Villain for ASM #600. Also Hank Pym is awesome. He no long just the crazy guy but now he's written as the smart guy he really is. If it was Bendis that was writing him, he would beat woman like it was hot.
Also in November a new arc called "The Gauntlet" written by Mark Waid, from the cover it would appear the Sinister Six is back, but with Kravens little girl.
That sounds cool. I'm a huge Kraven fan. But since he's dead his daughter should take his place in the Sinister Six. It's awesome that Slott, Waid and company are bringing back some of Spidey's original villains.
Do you guys think that the character is the problem? I agree that the comic was probably written well but characters like Wolverine and Deadpool are "cooler" to both fanboys and non fanboys alike though the fanboys are not buying the Cap'm Britain comic like you guys said. I feell your pain. I'm a BIG Wonder Man fan and his comic bit the dust in the 90s and now I have to settle for WM's cameos in other comics. I guess Cap'n Britain & Wonder Man aren't cool enough! Too Bad.
marvel doesn't really care about the fans any more they only care about publicity and money. great video you guys really hit the nail on the head especially about quesada going on the colbert report for publicity.
Maybe Marvel wants to apporach this carefully. They may have seen how much of a disaster Battle of the Cowl was for DC and wanted to present this thing carefully.
Captain Britain and MI13 was doomed with the title alone. It's kind of wordy and would alienate the new reader. They should have just called it Captain Britain....or do the inevitable and have Wolverine join MI13
Maybe they should put Bendis name on the cover. Then it would be a top 10 Book. Even better retitle it Captain Bendis and the MI13 guest starring Jeff Loeb.
if cap brit and mi13 was called avengers:uk would it have sold more?
re reborn:
i actually think marvel's learned from the last couple of times they've done this kind of stunt. it'll be in stores the same day it's in the press and they're basically guaranteeing retailers omd/obama/death of cap levels of attention so you have a rough idea of what kind of numbers to expect. is it really so bad? is there a happy medium?
Ive said it before and i will say it again..... if you buy more than one of teh multiple WOLVERINE,XTITLES, SPIDERMAN and so forth---then you are the problem
i don't understand the red thumbs, do they mean that i truly am an asshole, or that it's cool to be reading new avengers? or are people just opposed to me making any comments what so ever? can someone help me out with this, i'm not quite sure how to feel....
I wouldn't worry about it pobra. Obviously it's just someone who is a complete fucking asshole and can't understand that everyone has their own opinion. I can't stand people like that.
Elliot, you should just turn your argument closer into "it had vampire missiles, your argument is invalid."
You said it yourself, it's the pavlovian response preying on aspects of the LCD to sell the books. That's the consumer base I reckon. Yes this is the house cb nerds built, but the people in charge are renting it out to alot more people than us.
Wow...this is JUST like World of Warcraft when WotLK hit. This is surreal to me. Next is music.
You guys pointed out how I was when I first started comics, I would get every tie in for Civil War, Intiative, World War Hulk and Secret Invasion. Dark Reign not so much. I regret not getting Agent of Atlas or continue Secret Warriors and still collect Bendis books. I hated the Jeph Loeb Hulk but still brought it thinking it might become 20 bucks per issue like his first issues of Superman Batman, I feel like kicking my own ass now. You guys rock.
Man, you guys just look so... defeated at the end of these segments. Especially Elliot.
I wish I could say something encouraging, but I agree with the picture you paint. It's fucking sad, and if the industry is to blame for doing this kind of shit, it's the readers who are ultimately to blame for letting them do it.
I'll just keep trying to support the books I think are worth supporting and hope for the best.
Damn, I don't think we've ever seen Elliot that upset before.

Ghost Rider is not cancel, in August Jason doing a mini series called Heaven Bound in 6 parts to conclude his current Ghost Rider run. They might as well cancel it after it, I would hate to see Ghost Rider go back to medicore before Jason came aboard.

Luckily, I have a group of friends that's very open-minded when it comes to comics, and we've all gotten each other to buy things that we wouldn't otherwise have thought to pick up. And even if one of us lends around a book that no one else actually goes and buys, it turns everyone on to certain creators whose other books might be worth checking out.
Why doesn't Marvel start doing what Dc is doing with the series they canceled. Which is doing co-features in books that are actually selling well. This way they can interduce these characters to an audience that other wise have ignored them.
. . . you KNOW it's Steve Rogers Captain America. Maybe not 616 proper, but don't be simple Jose. You KNOW that's fucking Rogers. The background even has the details on old school CA suit.

With comics like Flash Rebirth and Captain America Reborn, I'm starting to get the feeling superhero deaths will be every few months just so there is a tie in "Rebirth" series. Whats next "Spider-Man Rebirth"? Are they gonna kill SuperMan again so he can have a rebirth series too? It's crazy.

The cloned body of James Rhodey that was stolen by Norman in the War Machine series.
To me, it's just a sign that the comics industry is headed right back to that breaking point they hit in the 90s. The signs?
1. Variant covers: I understand that people like them but to another degree is the chrome covers all over again. Even better are the variant covers for second printings.
2. Crazy high print runs. Unless you really need that first printing stamp there's no real reason to get to the comic shop first.
3. Reprinting old material: Reprinting all Ult. Hulk vs. Wolverines?
Remember the Civil War: The Return one-shot locus? That was another book that Marvel didn't tell retailers anything about and it turned out to be shit.

35. It came out last week. Starting in August Jason Aaron is going to finish the story arc in a 6 issue mini.

Yes a 3.99 mini instead of a 2.99 regular series.
Just as Iron Fist is going into a series of 3.99 one shots after being cancelled.
Its marvels way of getting around saying that no more of their existing books would go up to 3.99.
A book is no longer an existing book if they cancel it, thus they can squeeze more blood out of stone by putting them out at 3.99
also I count at least 15 Dark Reign 3.99 miniseries now, isn't that just completely mental?
