i actually think marvel's learned from the last couple of times they've done this kind of stunt. it'll be in stores the same day it's in the press and they're basically guaranteeing retailers omd/obama/death of cap levels of attention so you have a rough idea of what kind of numbers to expect. is it really so bad? is there a happy medium?

You guys pointed out how I was when I first started comics, I would get every tie in for Civil War, Intiative, World War Hulk and Secret Invasion. Dark Reign not so much. I regret not getting Agent of Atlas or continue Secret Warriors and still collect Bendis books. I hated the Jeph Loeb Hulk but still brought it thinking it might become 20 bucks per issue like his first issues of Superman Batman, I feel like kicking my own ass now. You guys rock.

Ghost Rider is not cancel, in August Jason doing a mini series called Heaven Bound in 6 parts to conclude his current Ghost Rider run. They might as well cancel it after it, I would hate to see Ghost Rider go back to medicore before Jason came aboard.

Luckily, I have a group of friends that's very open-minded when it comes to comics, and we've all gotten each other to buy things that we wouldn't otherwise have thought to pick up. And even if one of us lends around a book that no one else actually goes and buys, it turns everyone on to certain creators whose other books might be worth checking out.

Why doesn't Marvel start doing what Dc is doing with the series they canceled. Which is doing co-features in books that are actually selling well. This way they can interduce these characters to an audience that other wise have ignored them.

I think the answer to the problem of books like AoA and Ghost Rider being cancelled is trying different formats like 'Slimline' ala Fell, 'black&whites' and maybe what DC is doing in backup stories.

Most of the subjects you guys talk about can't be handle with because there are a lot of 10-12 years old children that read comic and all the want to see are "cool" things like Hulk smash staff and lobe and bendis style of writing. Both the maturer readers should do something about it.

The project that made gave Steve his power, and because the "dark" feeling I think the one that would rebuilt the project would be Norman! And I think I can guess how the Dark Cap would be... To me, it's just a sign that the comics industry is headed right back to that breaking point they hit in the 90s. The signs?

1. Variant covers: I understand that people like them but to another degree is the chrome covers all over again. Even better are the variant covers for second printings.

2. Crazy high print runs. Unless you really need that first printing stamp there's no real reason to get to the comic shop first.

3. Reprinting old material: Reprinting all Ult. Hulk vs. Wolverines?

Yup the Marvel universe is getting smaller and smaller. How long before the cosmic titles dont get enough interest, how long before its the end of Iron fist or Runaways. Another Panther from an alternate universe is appearing in Parker's "Exiles" too, but I don't count that.

Bottom line, the Black Panther still has his own series.

A book is no longer an existing book if they cancel it, thus they can squeeze more blood out of stone by putting them out at 3.99
