my name's neal and i just started to do drum (covers) videos, if any of you can please just check out my first drum cover it would be really appreciated, i'm just trying to get views and subscriptions. anyone, please?
@FULLblownCHAOS14 If you are asking about the main kit Stephen uses the heads are the DW Remo factory heads in the Coated Clear model. You can order them on line at dwdrums(dot)com. Just click on the "shop" button in the right lower corner of the page. Thanks!
Get it now! Randy May has truly been inventing something we drummer has been asking for over a long time, as one of the first drummers in Sweden I have a complete setup of the May Drum Miking system. I use a Sonor SQ2 Drumkit installed with the May Drum mike in every tom, snare and bass drum, I have 3 blend module to enhance the sound and spare the sound engineer from having to give me more cables from his table :-)
It is clean, it looks good, and it sounds GREAT!!!
so I just accidentally deleted a comment :( Someone was asking what cymbal stands at 0:47. Stephen uses all 9000 series stands...although, lately he has been playing with a DW Rack.
I would like to order the audix d6 bass drum mic from may, but have some questions because the site isnt to clear. Does the mic come with the regular bass drum mount or the shock mount, and whats the difference between them? And also does it come with the non drill connector or do you have to buy that separately ? Thanks in advance!
@AirblasterShred66 Thanks for your question! All May bass drum mics come with the MBM-1 mount. So all you really need in addition is the AVC-2 connector. This connector is fairly simple to install, and does not require any drilling into your drum. It uses the air vent hole to mount the XLR plug, and it's plate mounts on to lug screws. You will mount the mic onto the AVC-2 plate. If that does not clear things up, feel free to ask more. cheers, and happy mounting ;)
@91962 those are the DW/Remo singly ply Coated/Clear heads that come standard on all DW kits. You can order them from us via your local authorized DW dealer. Thanks!
@Anteater64 Honestly, the dry takes of these mics sound a lot better than the dry tracks of the external mics I usually use in the studio. Seems kind of weird, I'd expect huge spikes in the response... but I'd really have to hear it for myself on my own kit to really understand how they respond to the drums.
I use an Alesis Imultimix 16 USB and it works great together with the May system. These are really the way to go! Get to the gig and just plug in because the mics are already set.
what finish is that? it looks awesome!

mrbinary1001 2 years ago
I think is sounded really dead. Dry, no tone, no life. Maybe that's just me...
