I was only 13 or so when this aired, and even way back then I thought, "the guy that writes this must be on something" (No disrespect to James Reilly). You're right though, if not for this story, the Possession never would have happened, so I guess it wasn't done in vain.
Haha, my first thought on watching this was "geez I remember how by 1998 I was so sick of Bo saying, 'Billie, I never meant to hurt you'". Like, maybe don't have unprotected sex with your fake wife while she's still going through heroin withdrawal and you've been daydreaming about your ex and then tell her your marriage is real and then when it turns out she's pregnant say "Oh...well, funny thing...Hope wasn't with Franco so I'm gonna stick with her!"

James Reilly did so much that I loved, but when he got silly, boy did he get silly. :)
Sure beats Dena Higley, though...
