  • maybe it gives you an advantage in other countries but if you're english DO A-LEVELS!!!!

  • I'm in IB and liking it a lot, but this is so freaking sugar coated.

  • how about filming the ones who weren't acting? wouldn't it give you a more realistic point of view of the IB diploma??? who about showing the crap they expect you to do without thinking we are still teenagers willing to do some more stuff other than IB shit... were human beings not robots!!! if IB wants to show that to the world then stop being so strict in your idiotic rules of ñsidjfñlksjdf....

you know what, forget it... haven't slept well since I have to hand in my extended essay...

  • They look so... happy! And not to mention well rested! D:

  • LOL! you're missing the part where it says Ib students are procrastinators, suicidal and caffienated zombies!

  • Ahh...but can we be ASSURED that IB's values are all they say they are here? Perhaps their sources were biased?

    (just started ToK...argh)

  • according to this video even 5th graders can go through IB

  • @bomber1452 they have different programs...

I knew a kid in 5th grade in IB classes... But it's STILL difficult.

  • @MissGollyGood sleep is for the weak

  • They forgot to show the sleep deprived teenagers working on one of their IAs all night on the computer and the last minute cram session before the May exams. Yeah it feels good to be done with IB.

  • @TaylorSwiftx ok so seriously....if you think you hsve friends beacuse of IB then honey wake up...prbably they are only using you to get better grades yeah Ib makes people do that..first finish school and then tell me if you still love IB because seriously is the worse thing it happened to education and I'm glad I passed school IB was making my lofe so difficult for nothing...life should be enjoyable no hard as hell

  • @batagaga k, well that's your opinion. it all differs from person to person and where they even go to school though. and I dont know about you, but everyone in IB at my school. ALL 56 of us. are friends. We don't use each other, like other people do. :) but if thats your opinion then alrighteeee

  • @TaylorSwiftx it's the same in my case, but in mine, we're 17, rofl.

but that's because we're the first generations (guinea pigs) at my school), starting next semester, we just finished the pre-IB course.

we were 20 first, but some people left because all they care about is credits for college. i don't really care about that, i like the profile of the IB student, and think it should be a profile for the ideal person, the ideal citizen.

  • no sorry im actually the second one! yeeeeeaaaaaa boiii!

  • IM IN THIS VIDEO!! LOOK AT 0:50 I'M THE FIRST ONE IN THE THINKERS PART WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO YEEEEEEEEEAAAAAA!

  • hey im going to an ib school next year and i was wondering what an ib diploma does for u and how u earn it

  • please watch "IB kid vs regular teacher: epic war" it is really epic!

  • I don' t understand all this fuss. The IB is actually quite easy. All you need is to stay up untill 1 AM studying. In the competitive world in which we live it's the minimum.

  • I feel so stupid because this vid just made that tear drop. I fucking graduated.

  • Ahahaha, I've been learning IB for one and a half years now and I've never learnt the IB learner profile. And something tells me I'm not the only one :D

  • I think it another attemp to make American kids idiots- why waste time promoting all these profiles that kids will eventually learn on there own- You are telling a 6 year old to be a risk taker- is that really more important at this age- why not teach them hmm to count to 100 or the 50 states versus this international garbage-

  • @kellymann ?? Have you done ANY research on the IB before comment? Counting to 100? Learning the 50 states? This is what you think makes someone intelligent?

  • @dwees2 yes it is important to develop a foundation when you are 6 years old- as opposed to this stupid crap!! Being caring- Being Knowledgable- Being Balanced- Really?- you need to teach that in school for 8 hours a day9 months out of the year- thats extreme!- You send your kids to school to learn reading, writing and arithmatic- now to be global citizens-

  • @kellymann We don't spend 8 hours a day 9 months out of the year on this stuff. That would be stupid. It characterizes our conversations with students, what types of field trips we choose, etc... it is a framework for guiding us in our curriculum, not the ONLY thing that is covered.

  • ...Fucking Bullshit.

  • IB will be the death of me

  • 2:19 that was me when i was like grade 9, now i am in grade 12 doing this shit IB

  • @MrTaiwanoscar I'm going thru my 9th grade year.thanxs for your ideas

  • HAHAHAHHAHA THE IRONY IS THAT I KNOW THE GUY AT 2:19 AND HE HATES THE FUCKING IB!

  • IB Quote: LIfe wanted a divorce, because I cheated on life with IB.

  • To all those who think tha IB is not worth the work, you're wrong! It's worth it more than you think! So for any future IB'ers don't be intimidated by what others say or think of the program, go for it! IT'S WORTH IT!

  • I have been in this program lyk forever and itz the best!!!!

  • this is bs

  • LOL all of the students looked really bored or stressed. A few of the little kids were half smiling before looking away though hahaha

  • Dedication and hard work is the key for success, and is the nutshell definition of the IB. People encouraging you to drop off the program, dont- you will not regret it after you have passed the exams with good results. Sure, 2 years of the hardest work you could imagine but hell, when the results come in, you've got the whole world ahead of you.

  • not a lot of image of homeworks when it's a major part...

  • FUCKING IB MYP. They make us bullshit about learner profiles, areas of interaction and write stupid reflections and i know everyone in my class does this not because they know it's helping them learn but because they want a decent grade. even PE is accessed and most of the time we're writing essays.

  • just-uploaded-a--new-INTERNATIONAL--BACCALAUREATE--RAP--VIDEO!!! check it out!! It goes hard.

  • lol so MIXED on IB. bout to be a senior. just uploaded an IB Rap video for cas hours. ;) Check it out it's hilarious!

  • great video,, i'm doing ib right now,, and it's a great program!!!

  • future ib-ers: don't listen to the negativity. doing ib was easily the best decision i've made so far in my life. without it, i wouldn't have my community of friends and thinkers, i wouldn't have gained confidence through discovering a higher cause, i wouldn't be as open-minded and happy as i am today, and i wouldn't have had the motivation and necessary encouragement from my peers and teachers to apply to (and be accepted into) top colleges.

  • @BUKGYQ Thanks for backing up IB students like me but right now my life in IB is insipid.......lol

  • @BUKGYQ I confirm: IB is the best shit.

  • @BUKGYQ i'm an ib senior. my college only accepts hl and i feel like i spent way too much time on this when i could've been getting more credit in AP my advice is to get out while you can.

  • @BUKGYQ Say... How much did they pay you to write all this?

  • @BUKGYQ LOL yeah, but half the fun is complaining about it :)

  • ib is not open-minded and definitely not caring to the students. everything we do depend on the examiners. fuck this crap. btw, this year exam was fucking hard

  • Should the ideals listed in this video imply positive value judgments from the viewer? The video provides only very limited justifications for these value judgments, not using the full spectrum of ways-of-knowing and areas-of-knowledge. It could be argued that ideals such as "a more peaceful world" and "inquisitiveness" are merely culturally prescribed--can this really be used as a basis of a valid value judgment? What knowledge issues does this video raise for the IB programme as a whole?

  • is this a fucking joke?

The only thing I've learned how to do is cram for exams a couple hours before a test. Do 1st period homework before school, 2nd period's in 1st period, 3rd period's homework in 4th period, and 4th period's homework in 3rd.

I've learned how to write a 3600-4000 word paper in 1 night, bullshit the hell out of anything, memorize 40 foreign words in a matter of 10 minutes, and create a good ratio of sleep to homework every day after swimming, tennis, or football practice.

  • @peyaah dude... ib is tough... but u could make it easier for yourself BY NOT FUCKING PROCRASINATING!!! U FUCKING IDIOT PULL UR HEAD OUT OF UR ASS!!!! i learned that for sure im not provrasinating... and im only in grade 9.. and i know its gonna get any easier... thats why u LEARN TO WORK HAARD!

  • They forgot to include "Fucking tired"

  • The IB program is where my hopes and dreams for high school lay on

  • THAT'S MY SCHOOL!!!

  • What's up with all the little kids in the video? I thought IB was for Juniors and Seniors..

  • @Jakespiro nope they start a kindergarten and are forcing this behavior profiles down my kids throats-

  • BULLshit!

  • this video is the perfect example for bias... the ib doesnt need to show why they are good if they are really as good as they pretend to be. let people make their own opinions.

  • Im in 6th grade, and I tried out. I got accepted, and will be starting IB in grade 7 till grade 12. :) I want to know what its like? I know..its hard!

  • ib exams soon.

    math hl

    physics hl

good luck to you too, and damn good luck with the maths :P

  • @NewKidOnTheScene Dude I feel for you. I'm sorry you're doing HL math...

  • @NewKidOnTheScene I think I've got it even worse (if that's possible):

    HL Physics

    HL Maths

    HL Chemistry

    SL French

    SL English

    SL History

  • i think you're blessed by chuck norris...

  • @davidmacdougal GOOD LUCK

  • Im WIlbert .. and my mindset is "Fuck it really" .. i like IB .. its hard, and sometimes some bullshit goes down, but either way, its a great place to be at.

  • IB fucking sucks but I guess it is worth it?? :D

  • thank god I passed it XDit really gave me a great deal of oppertunities... probably better than highschool. But this IB leaerner profile is BS because i dont feel more balanced or reflective than i did before i started IB LOL...

  • IB is the program for the people who works really hard!!

    IB changed my life!!!

  • @0oseasuno0

did you "works" really hard? Dear god, tell me you aren't conjugating your verbs incorrectly.

    I smell an IB rat.

  • Oh god, the memories.

  • Right, off to it.

  • Inquirers - Why did I join IB

Knowledgeable - In the art of BS

    Thinkers - Cramped Brain

    Communicators - Of frustration

Reflective - Why did I join IB

Principled - In the art of BS

    Open-minded - Zombie-like

    Caring - Of oneself

    Risk-takers - Risking one's life

    Balanced - Does not compute

  • join the ib program if u want to lose 2 years of your life.... but of course you will become an expert in writing essays and doing community service

  • Im in grade 7, and I'm in IB. And, my entire life--I've just been attending a normal school. But in Grade 6, I got the oppurtunity to join IBMYP (IB middle years program) for grade 7. It is hard, harder than normal schools for sure. But if you work hard, and try to do your best you WILL succseed. In the end, you can ace university, and be in a high position. You may hate it now, but in the end..who are you going to thank? My sister graduated IB diploma program with 40 points. :)

  • is it really worth it?i am in the same place but i am in 9th grade ib.what i mean is that will colleges really chose you over AP students?

  • Yeah, they definetely will. But you need to maintain a good average, and try your best. Because Universities like Oxford, In England which is the 4th best university in the world, accept IB students--but you have to have a good average. Most people think its Impossible, but it really isnt. I mean..my whole families in IB, and my sister did a really good job and is in oxford right now :)

  • @smokingrockstar depends what college. or maybe i should say country? im in canada, and i don't think they care. ib students do have the advantage of find uni easier than the rest tho. in the states tho i hear it does matter.

  • INDOCTORINATION!

  • They forgot:

    Procrastinators

  • worth it at the end of the 2 years, get into any uni you want. why not do hard-work for 2 years, and enjoy the rest of your life..?

  • my sisters in IB and she completely loves it..shes hardworking & isnt complaining..but everyones not the same, i understand.

  • @Darktwilight19

    pretentious...

I work like a dog and complain about it too! But personally, I think having to stay up all night and go to school twice without sleeping in the middle warrants a bit of comfort actually.

Each school does IB differently. Some are more all encapsulating than others, I understand.

  • It doesn't leave you any liberty to do simple things you thoroughly enjoy in your private time. It makes you stress, and takes away those good nine hours of sleep anyone would crucially need. Everyone rants about how the IB is ruining their lives so parents or students or anyone watching this video do not be deceived by those happy and content faces because the reality is grim

  • The IB is essentially just like the soviet union.

They take away your freedom, They sentence you to two years of hard labour and even if you find free time, then they would rather you spend that time completing your 150 hours of CAS or writing an essay of 4000 words. The IB is a CCTV camera which monitors everything you do.

  • @MrMattrobin soooo trueee

  • fuck you IB

  • I am doing that shit right now...

its so much work! its slavery

    lol

ib took away my private life, thanks to IAs, EE and exams

  • lies...

  • IB IS FOR NIGGERS

  • lol i got one word.... BULLSHIT!

  • BALANCED

    rofl

  • fuck you ib.

  • @Savsavidge hahahaha

  • my words exactly. thanks.

  • what the hell is wrong with you, posting such propaganda?!?

  • FOR ALL IB1 STUDENTS: LEAVE THE PROGRAM WHILE YOU'RE STILL YOUNG!!! Not everyone has what it takes to pass. But if you work hard (die on the desk) you will!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @mihailofsx To pass? U serious man? I din't study and passed with fives on the mocks. And dying is far from what I am doing now to have sevens in the end.

  • @92tamkel Hahah, ok. Let me explain first :) I did my IB diploma in a very fucked up school with very limited resources, and not very competent teachers :p The highest graded diploma to ever come out of the school was 40, but usually its below 35 :p Another fuck up is not selecting subjects! I had to take MATH HL; Language A1 HL English B HL, Geo Sl, Chem SL, Visual SL :P I got my diploma, but im to embarrassed to tell you the grades. And I did work a lot my friend. The top grade in class was 32

  • @mihailofsx in that case you are generalizing. it's not the program people should leave, it's their schools if if it's shitty for them. I understand, I've had the same problem though not in IB but in another high school.

  • @92tamkel Man man man, you misunderstood me completely. Im not saying the IB programme is bad, its the best high school program in the world! If you wanna do something in life, thats the thing to do! The thing is, unless you are sure you can handle it, dont even try it. For me, even though i went to a bad school, i think the experience was by far more dramatic and useful! I managed so many things and fucked up situations, most of the things I do now, are like a joke to me :D

  • @92tamkel Our teachers left us to the wolves, literally!! We had no idea about the actual deadlines, and no one respected the internal deadlines. I have to say, it is partially our fault. But they left us do the Geography research assignment, chemistry lab work, 2 math portfolios, an exhibition in visual art and EXTENDED ESSAY in 2 months!!! That was second semester of the last year :))) IMAGINE what was happening to us!! :) Although, now im glad it was like that :)

  • @mihailofsx That's actually better than, I did my Geography EE, Fieldwork, 3 labs in physics and chemistry each and one math portfolio in 3 weeks :D

  • @92tamkel

i have experiences with that too. what faculty are you attending now? :D

(i went to a normal high school programme)

  • @anjck I have HL Physics, Chem and Geo and SL A1, English A2 and Math, though I wanted math HL but that course has not started here so now I am screwing with Scottish universities to accept me :D

But before IB I almost finished a normal 4year high school program. and all I can say that in IB I have to study a lot less, yet IB makes a lot more sense. In my high school I had to learn 13 different subjects. in IB they only press you as much as they need so that you would be ready for college.

  • I love how calming this video is in comparison to the actual thing...

  • Yesssssssss

  • blah just started this in college.

    I have no life now.

  • nice video :)

  • my school is so shit dude. the people who did IB last year: none of them got over 31 points.

  • oh...so THIS is what the IB was all about...

Then why do I feel so fricking stressed right now?

  • lol stress is for weak people. I don't get stress, except when I play piano. :P

  • this sucks

  • I'm taking IB this sept in high school shiet im so scared. =(

I dont even know if i would have time for the soccer team

  • bah

  • We watched this video in some achievement today (I'm in Year 10), and where they put the people such as 'Knowledgeable', they put our Year 6 selves. I was shocked. :O

  • well yay for hidden liberal agendas.

  • bored , 'sigh'. i go to a IB school. (RANDOLPH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL)

  • LOL at the hitler comment. this did remind me of hitler. just had my ib history exam

  • haha i'm starting IB classes next year and i feel bad for the kids tht do the full IB scholarship program. say good bye to a social life

  • Tell me about it, just finishing my first year :S.

  • depending on your definition of a social life. It is just that youll hardly get to go to parties and all night drunkfests.

  • You're an idiot. (talking to "chillercm") It doesn't really matter, its whether or not you do the work required.

  • no obviously u still need to do the work, but a load of people did a lot of work and tried quite hard, but they just werent smart enough(dont necessarily mean intelligence), which left them with still a low score

  • Why don't you just shove that smart ass attitude of yours right up your ass!

  • @chillercm

thirty five?! I would not be happy with thirty five. You do realise that the average University asks for 36-38, right? Just because it's more than 24 doesn't mean it's great. I wouldn't boast about your social life/ work balance at 35.

  • @thatgurrrl97 You do realize that what you're saying is wrong. The average university does not ask for 36-38 points. If you really mean the "average" university, you would have to drop that figure to something like 30-32 points. It's not much higher than that actually.

  • Ein Fuhrer Ein Reich... Hitler Youth.... scary.

  • oh, they showed the day I applied for IB, fromw atching lots of vids of IB students and comments... I think I'm in for a whole bunch of shit.. of well, for me, lack of sleep is a norm XD

  • is that a video made by southbank international school in london? otherwise why are there so many students and teachers from this school in the video?

  • reflective yea....

reflecting how much time has been wasting on this god awful program...

  • they need to change the video, how many years have they been using this one?

  • "The Hitler-Jugend taught boys to be hard working and obedient to the greatest extent."

i know that from somewhere, one mission, under one name....

oh, and about the 'banace-part'. everyone doing IB knows how balanced they are.

  • The one world thing was Hitler's idea too.... these people are CRAYYYYYYZY!

  • untited under one mission, under one name.... i heard that one before!

  • Hitler

  • The UN should be run out on a rail from the USA. They are brainwashing children in the schools. IB sucks! the UN sucks!

  • Urgh! This video reminds me of one of those in-flight videos that all the airlines force you to watch, filled to the brim with complete and utter bull.

  • agreed.

  • im in the myp program in ib. i hate areas of interaction.

  • Oh God. THIS is the organisation that will mark my papers. Within the first 5 seconds the music sums up the rhetorical chliched nonsense of the IB.

  • Heck, I second that!

  • third.

  • agreed.

  • So I've been given the task of tutoring a 6 year old in the weekends who is struggling with his English (ESL) classes at an IB school in Asia.Any advise on technique? I mean how much pressure would this kid be under at his age, at school?

  • IB made me the person I am today.. thank you :D

  • 07oogenesis, a person who thinks 3 hours of sleep is enough and coffee is water? that's the person i am today, THANK YOU IB

more like...fuck the shit out of i.b., fuck all i.b. adorers, i wanna fucking bomb the ib headquarters like a bloody terrorist

  • ib is retarded- I still dont know what its ment to be about.... god, all I know if our teachers are retarded and work is lame, I'm making a follow up video to this about how shitty IB is so I can hopefully convince my parents to let me OUT!!! gunna send it to my class cuz they all want out too- let me know if you want a copy

  • you suck

  • OMG I HATE IB I'VE GOT HEART PROBLEMS BECAUSE I OVER WORKED MYSELF ! "that's truth"

  • lmao at all the kids being like 6 years old... ib really only gets hard in IB1&IB2

  • 4 standard, 3 higher level---> I'm dying!!!!

  • What's the point of the extra standard?

  • THE BIGGEST MISTAKE IN MY LIFE!

  • well, its nice programe if u really like science we going through every thing as well, but the hardest part is only the deadlins! so.. Its the last year for me!I will miss it so much..

  • cmon its not that bad...

  • I'm taking all IB now at school, its hard but it really pays off once you get used to it.

  • it tought u....didnt teach u to spell did it haha jk jk

  • I LOVE IB!!!!!!!!

  • I love IB, some days, but i just find this video to be halarious. Way too idealistic. Half of the IB students I know were pushed into it by their parents, I'm not one of them though. And I can say for a fact the IB students are not anti-social, just busy. We have friends and lives and only juggle that obcene amounts of homework.

  • Im thinking of taking IB if our school it accepted. It sounds interesting, what do you think about it?

  • IB is an awesome program. Its more challenging, but colleges will freak out over you (they'll fight to get you) if you do take a lot of IB courses. I recommend taking it.

  • IB was great. now that i'm in college i'm really starting to find the advantages to having taken it. 1st, of course, is that thanks to my ib scores, i only have to take my humanities and one natural science class to get my aa degree. 2nd i can write a 200 word paper in my sleep and a 4000 word research paper in a day, so that's great. 3rd, i only need 5 hours of sleep to function at max capacity, all night study sessions are no big deal. 4th, i can relax bc ib was harder than college is.

  • 5th the schollarships are great. i could go on, but i ran out of room. i definately suggest you take it if you can. if nothing else you can always drop it, but you only get one chance to get in.

  • How many Higher levels/ standard levels did you do?

Also, do you get lots and lots of coursework?

  • I do 3 standard, 3 higher but I think the minimum is 2 'lower', 2 standard and 3 higher.

I'd recommend taking it if you're an 'all rounder'- if you're fantastic at humanities but can't stand science and math, stay clear.

There is a lot of coursework, but CAS is the real time-eater.

If you want your social life to consist comparing how many hours of hw you do a night, this is the program for you.

  • 3 SL and 3 HL is recommended, but you may take 2 SL and 4 HL. The total number of subjects must equal six for the diploma.
