  • Wow. I guess anyone who winds up in your emergency room is in very good hands, so to speak.

  • Fantastic, absolutely awesome. Now you must show up to the emergency room in your tux, lol.

  • Bravo!! Fantasic playing! I'm so impressed-- to be an MD and so accomplished a cellist. Most of us are lucky to do just one.

--from a cellist who would not be a very good doctor.

  • it sounds like the cello is laughing

    heehehehehe

  • That made me smile. Well done and thank you!

  • Your kind words are music to my ears. Thank you. E.R.

  • :)))))) very good :))) bravo!!!!

  • lol why are you wearing doctor clothes? I mean we know you're a doctor but still....

  • lol i didn't even notice before, that pretty funny..

  • Sorry, my tux was in the dry cleaners.

  • Haha no need to be sorry; I was just curious

  • Hahah!

  • lol!

  • your bowing is crazy

  • mmm it's not easy for violin, it's more difficult than chelo I think...I'm playing now this caprice, and the distance and character it's more more difficult. The character on chelo it's like the wind, it's not like a devil smile's.

  • i agree bue cello not chelo

  • Ok!.. after watching yo yo ma this guy and some other dude... im seriously thinking that playing cello would be eazier >_>

  • wonderful! more effortless than most violinists!

  • Woah. Incredible.

I wish I played cello instead of violin.

    Great Job.

  • That's really good (and funny sometimes) i love how your cello matches the wall!

  • beautiful

  • you dont use your endpin ... why?

  • I do; the camera cuts it off.

  • Well, music saves more lives than doctors.

  • not that i don't love music, but prove it.

  • I guess I'll have to take your word for it :)

  • when going down in the 3rd or 6ths or w/e it sounds like laughing. like; haa....haaa.....haaa.....haaa very amusing actually hahah. good job though.

  • Yea, like those ones in tom&jerry XD

    Kudos to you sir! ^^

  • Yeah, does seem like T&J lol. Good song. Must be hard to learn

  • that's why this caprice is nicknamed "The Devil's Laughter"

  • lol...

  • Love it to bits !!

Is this recorded in the hospital or between interventions ?

  • hahahahahahaha lmao

    hahahahah ftw

  • ok..if this is your secondary activity..well then please tell me where you work..so the first accident I have..I promise I'll come to your hospital..!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Congratulations!!

  • sweet deal. I have three uncles who are doctors, two of them surgeons. If only they played piano or had music in their backgrounds.

  • Bravo muchacho!!!! Exelente afinación, y bonita interpretación.

  • Bravo! The cello really rests very low. Interesting.

  • wonderful performance! Very interesting bowing. Very solid technique and great musical ideas.

  • play erlkonig on the cello!

  • Just beautiful; you play better than many musicians that I Know

  • why would someone so talented be a physician rather then a musician?

  • would you recognise an angel in disguise?

  • yes.

  • if you can be both...why not? physicians make hella money, musicians dont make that much so he can play his cello and not starve for it! sounds like a good deal to me...

  • the cello is very low, but whatever. we don't all have to play like rostropovich. great playing. the cello itself has a very nice sound as well.

  • this is an amazing recording, the intonation is perfect, especially for the double stops, which is really hard to do. amazing..

  • Very good, I put this up there with the other Cellist peforming Caprice 24 by Paganini. Very good work. :)

  • Very good! This is on my short list of pieces to learn next. Thanks for demonstrating how it should sound.

  • celloriffic.

  • that is amazing!! you're so good

  • Thank you for charming cello playing! By the way: Paganini was a great composer!

  • where did you learn to play this. I dont know any sheet music from the 24 caprices written for cello

  • Great cello playing, but what's with the scrubs and the less-than-modest video description?

  • Actually there are some trios for violin, cello, and guitar and I think perhaps some violin and cello duos too, not that that really counts. Really nice playing! Just want to point out though that on the passage with the long segment of octaves, it goes from E flat to C sharp to D and repeats a couple times, you kind of play a C natural. Really good job though.

  • i dont play cello, but i will, and i have a question.

why people that play cello dont use the bass notes? why make it sound like a violin?

  • Sometimes it's fun to play high up on the cello. One can play faster and clearer on the higher notes. The bass notes are great, too, but Paganini didn't write anything for the cello.

  • How great!

  • A doctor and an excellent musician...You must handle your time extremely well.

  • EXCELLENT PLAYING!

  • OMG! You're soooo good! How do you find time to practice?

  • Thank you. Finding time to practice is always a struggle but it's something I feel I must do. Hope you enjoy my other videos. Will post a great deal more in the future. If you'd like to learn more about music and medicine, visit my website at www.ermusic.org.

  • that was awesome playing, you should of been a musician. lol, give up that 6 figure salary and play in subways and street corners, haha.

He practices in the ER on a silent cello.

  • Thanks. Been there, done that. Used to have "offices" on Columbus Ave, Christopher Street, and Wall Street. Cash only, no malpractice. ER.
