  • this must be some other guy called james morrison, i was expecting the singer

  • this other guy is better

  • @becky2727 The singer is the other guy, this guy is a much better muso

  • This song reminds me of the intro to Hey Arnold

  • Man, Patrick Hession has nowhere near the skill, or class of this guy. you can't compare.

This guy is a writer arranger clinician solo player leader lead trumpeter etc...he is one of the best trumpeters of our time, and a hell of a nice guy. Super advanced sense of humor as well.

    Very underrated.

  • patrick hession is patrick hession

    arturo is arturo

    james morrison is james morrison

they each have thier own unique style. thats what keeps jazz going; a variety of styles.

  • this guy kills hession this guy never cuffs note s and his improv is out of this world! hession is good but morrison is amazing!!! and sandoval is also great technically but all around james morrison is better than them both, his tone is always centered and his sound is always focused

  • not as good as patrick hession or arturo sandoval technically :) i guess its a stylistic thing though, they all do their own styles really

  • wow, i love it! he is so groovy =D

  • James Morrison Is the most awesome amazing incredible Musician! He also really helps and supports kids who dream about being musicians. Thank-you James!!!

  • hey i got this live dvd, and it has the whole nights performances on it. i love the music! but is it just me, or does anybody else find the majority of the other trumpet players rather dissapointing? maybe im just used to hearing the studio recorded version or something lol.

oh btw i dont mean to bash them in anyway by saying that, im sure they are much better than i am when it comes to trumpet playing, it just seemed like there were a lot of mistakes on the dvd.

  • In fact you might want to try typing 'the real james morrison' onto facebook and see what it comes up with.

  • WHAT this is NOT james errrrrrrrrrrrr

  • Yes it is!

  • He's so good on everything!! How good is his organ playing? It's amazing!!!!

  • Love the music but really need some voice to it. Other then that is cool.. ill give u a 5

  • Ralph Pyl from the Sydney All Start Big Band played the trumpet solo... pick up his album - Pyldriver - it's fantastic, one particular track "Pittstreet"... check it out

  • Great performance! Can someone help me out with the changes to this blues? I think it goes to the flat-fith 7th instead the subdominant 7th on bar four, where you would normally go to the IV7 in a blues. But I can't quite get the changes to the last part (starting on bar 9), where you would go to the V7 chord tradidionally. Many thanks! (novice trumpeter here).

  • Bad!

  • this isn't james morrison!

  • It's not the pop singer James Morrison.

  • Uh yes it is, in fact this new kid with the crappy pop music is the imposter. James Morrison always has and will always be the famous jazz trumpeter. He's played with everyone from Maynard Ferguson to Cab Calloway, even at the Olympic Games Opening Ceremony. You're watching the original and the best.

  • That was directed at LaZyLayDs by the way, Youtube's being a pain.

  • The guy on the end next to James is David Newdick. I was lucky enough to play with him earlier this year. The JTC band played Macarthur Park (the Maynard Ferguson arangement) and Dave played the lead part. He actually wasn't as good as I'd expected. Just couldn't get some of those high notes...

  • ralph pyl is the first trumpet solo and i know paul panici is the guy in glasses. the guitarrist is peter zog, i'm pretty sure. it's taken from the scream machine dvd, live at the basement. if you did some searching, i'm sure you could find the other guys

  • This is a mega performance apart from James, who are the other players?

  • sorry. i don´t know it.

  • @maynardthegod Dave Newdick, Paul Panichi, Ralph Pyl and Paul Thorne (horns), also a fantastic drummer David Jones, David is probably one of the most well respected percussionists, not just a Jazz drummer, In Australia.

All the Horns are Aussies as well. Ralph and Paul have their own big bands, Dave Newdick used to play in the band on "Hey Hey it's Saturday" very popular show in Australia, coming back on TV soon.....
