What we have here is a bunch of arm chair knotheads that have not a single clue about "STOLL" Aircraft. The DHC-2T Turbo beaver can kick the Pilatus' ass landing or taking off on any gear config ie: wheels, wheel-ski's, or amphib floats under any conditions !!!! Will say that there is nothing wrong with a Pilatus Porter, other than the fact it is so ugly that it has to sneak up on the fuel truck to get fuel !!!!!

The PC-6 Turbo-Porter is one of the most amazing planes on this planet. It can land on a 100m strip and carry more cargo load than it's own weight. The stall speed of this thing is below 40kts!

No it isn't but you don't know it... There's one little thing you don't understand: This isn't a fighter plane! A plane don't has to be super-über-stealth, crazy fast and fancy to be amazing you know. It's a transport plane, one of the best ever built on this planet!
If you'd know a few things about planes and their properties you'd also know that the PC-6 is capable of doing things no other plane can do.
If you really are intrested in planes you can educate yourself on wikipedia, you'll see that this is an outstanding plane. You have no idea what your talking about so stop it please... I bet you're an american...
@MrLowAltitude Hey now, I'm american and happen to LOVE porters. Except when using them for skydiving they get a bit cramped with ten people in them. But they are spectacular airplanes. And yes....copimi is a moron.

@HARRYFRIGGINPOTTER1 The military should be using this plane in afghanistan as a spotter and light attack plan. They can tow it behind a hummer, and launch it from the desert if need be. Any idea of visiblity from the cockpit?
I'll admit, I've seen shorter take-offs (I think we've all seen that Piper Cub video), and I've certainly seen better looking aircraft. I'll also admit I've never flown one; I don't know how it handles, or any of its characteristics. They don't even have these things in North America. However, not all military aircraft are fighters; all military aircraft have specific roles. This aircraft's specific role is cargo-based, and it does this job exceptionally well.
This was a LONG take-off for a PC-6 !!!

Pilatus with turboprop engine is a STOL classic. Just think Piper Cub/Super Cub with that same engine :D
