no offense texasblues, but after listening to a few of the recordings from this concert, i think maybe you were a bit off that night, lol. to me they sound excellent.
I gotta agree with Texasblues........page definatly does not seem to be up to par with his usual ability. you can hear how sloppy he is. Tempo is off, missed notes etc etc.
As a huge Page fan I can say that he was most definitely having an off night that concert. I heard quite the screw ups in just the first minute of this song.
You do realize that the recording is screwed up going from Part 13 of this concert to this one (part 14). It wasn't Page, but the recording. I still wish his Les Paul was more distorted tone wise..
yeah I got that man, in 75' they used to play whole lotta love and transition from the theremin solo into Black Dog and use Out on the Tiles as the intro. Even in the intro to Out on the Tiles he messes up a bit. and then on when he goes to 3/4 time and back to 4/4 on the first verse. Just saying ... Still though Page is and will probably always be my no.1 guitar idol.
I was fortunate enough to have witnessed Zeppelin at The New York State Fair Grounds in 1969 and it remains the greatest rock performance I've ever seen. Zep's shows between '69 and '71 in particular were just unbelievable. Nobody's ever approached what Zeppelin did in this period of their career. I've seen all the great bands of rock, and as incredible as a few of them were, Led Zeppelin at their peak were just in a class by themselves. Still are.
I was at the same show and it was spectacular. Page and Plant were as good as they usually were which meant I was watching the greatest rock band in the world. By far.
Slightly off? I was in Dallas at this show at Memorial Auditorium (DCC) and they were more than a little off. Page played like he was drunk and Plant couldn't sing. Bonham and Jones kept this show together. Tickets as I recall were something like $8.50.
He must have really been bad then. I hate to be negative with my all time favorite rock band but it just wasn't a very good performance that night. I saw them 3 times. The best being in early 70. Of course everybody was under the influence of some killer Purple Haze that night so anything may have sounded good. The good old days.. What is TSRTS?

Plant seems hit or miss depending on verse.

Personally, I think Jimmy's playing here is solid as are Percy's vocals...

James Patrick is slightly off on the performance of this song. A mistake here and there is no thing though. Long live the Nobs!
