    according to sing365

  • great album 100% the accoustic songs are so touching!!! i have lost alot of loved ones and 2 of the songs are so touching and personal with the lyrics!! well done pearl jam!! great music!

  • Amazing funky rock song !! backspacer is a great album !! this sound is so clean and direct !! honey to my ears !!!

  • @porsiemprerock

It's primitive and dumb. This album is dreadful.

  • The best from beggining to end:

    1980s U2 - Unforgettable Fire Echo & The Bunneymen - Ocean Rain Pixies-Doolittle

1990s: Soundgarden - Superunknown (sorry - the only grunge I liked)

    2000s (?-still up for grabs).

    2010s Pearl Jam - Backspacer

  • @nevets4ever

queens of the stone age rated r. lol

probably theyre best album as well.

  • @JHo4God YES!!!

  • LOVE this song!!! A hidden gem on this fantastic album.

  • @12ToeNail

really? I've been into PJ since 91 and I got to say that Johnny G is definately not one I'd put on a comp for the car.

Can I ask you what you like about it?

  • ten was one of the strongest song vs song albums ever every song was kick ass

  • this song is good...but i really hate this album..im an oldschool PJ fan..ive always loved pj....but idk if u can undesrtand me...fuck backspacer...

  • Pearl Jam had a rock album called Avocado?? :)

    yeah right :)

  • @jetsonic69 nop...blue album with avocado is called Pearl jam...it havent any special name...its Pearl jam-Pearl jam...:)

  • @tyslacik also referred to as a self-titled album.

  • @jetsonic69 isn't that the english name for the Jesus Christ monument in Rio de Janeiro?

  • questa ci stà..............

  • Pearl Jam, a melhor banda grunge que ainda nos restou!

  • It is called evolving I think they are doing it the right way straight forward story telling rock.people change so do circumstances early 20;s to mid 40's alot changes.I love the new stuff.

  • Lástima que sea tan corta!!!

  • One of my top 3 from Backspacer with Force of Nature and Speed of Sound the other 2. Love this song!

  • some song, epic stuff off the album. They never fail to disappoint.

  • yeahyeah

  • great song ♥

  • this song makes me wish it was longer...

  • wow, this song has serious early 80's australian rock influences, dead set sounds like the band Australian crawl, good tune

  • wtf? This sounds as much like AC as Iggy sounds like Abba. Great song, and AC did some too - notably Unpublished Critics, but this ain't NOTHIN' like them.

  • The fact Pearl Jam are giving me more of a thrill than ever says something.

Ten, Vs, Vitalogy, Yield, Binaural were all fuckin' brilliant albums... but Backspacer is still absolutely brilliant and proof that the older they get, they're still one of the greatest bands ever to grace us.

  • Great comment. But surely No Code deserves a mention. It really is great.

  • @amentveddergossard

    I completely agree!

  • @mrface19

    AMEN!

  • To most the comments below i agree, TEN will never be matched, Best album ever!!!

  • whatever to the comment below......

  • This is a really good new album and I do enjoy all the songs..it's definitely better than their last album.. however it's not a patch on their older stuff.. even the more recent older albums (e.g. Binaural etc.) are far better. shit it's been nearly ten years already since that was released..where does the time go? Either way Vs., Ten and Yield can't be touched, but at least they're still going strong.. PJ for ever!

  • This album is a masterpiece. Everyone always claims PJ's older stuff is better, and while I won't argue that Ten was absolutely amazing I have to say that Vs is probably their most overrated album by far. I'm glad to see you're giving Yield some love though.

  • I do think it is good. But I gotta disagree about Vs. By far my favourite album, the lil' gems such as Rats and WMA just make it for me. It's just too slick. Gotta love the Yield though :D

  • @venusasaboy1991 yea, no code is really underrated, there is some good undiscovered shit on that one

  • @ColonelMayonnaise Pearl Jam is my favorite band, and I'll be shocked if this ever changes. But of all their albums, Yield is in my bottom three. Just as all their albums have a unique and distinctive sound, Yield's sound isn't my kind of sound. Although I will say Do the Evolution is incredibly sick on their Live on Two Legs album.

  • @mrmenglish1 That's cool man, to each his own. Even though I'm not blown over by Vs. It still has some great tracks on it. Indifference, Go, Daughter and Dissident are all fantastic. I love PJ. I've got my tickets to see them in K.C. on May 3rd.

  • @ColonelMayonnaise

I personally loved No Code.... but, I loved all the albums....

  • @koulgurl right on. I love No Code. "Who You Are" "Present Tense" and "Around the Bend" are some of my all time favorite PJ songs. Plus McCready's guitar riffs on "Red Mosquito" are absolutely sick.

  • @ColonelMayonnaise

I have to disagree. I think Vs is their most consistent and raw album to date. Go, Blood, WMA, Rats, Indifference, Animal. The whole album is amazing, so damn heavy and sounds like it could've been recorded yesterday. Ten is obviously a great album, but I think it's very dated in comparison to Vs, despite only being released two years prior to it. For me personally, it's all about Vs, Yield and No Code. And although Backspacer and Avacado are great, don't beat 91 - 2000 IMO.

  • @ColonelMayonnaise I really liked yield it was quite underrated.

  • @ColonelMayonnaise , I'm thinkin the same. This album is a pleasure.

  • @ColonelMayonnaise I know what ya mean. A lot of people into rock/metal etc are pretty stubborn and never accept change. What they don't know is that if you embrace it what's on the other side is so much better. Diversity is the spice of life ;)

  • give them credit for staying original though. i would not expect a group of changing individuals to always sound the same

  • sorry mirkoubaldi i prefer to vote + 4 ya

  • You Made Fucker

  • i've downloaded this album but it's so great so beautiful that tomorrow i'll buy it!!

  • and that's the way you should use youtube ^_- hows the artwork?

  • It sure does. The "Album" does not suck though.

  • eehh i like it u have to have a taste for pearl jam to like it i guess lol

  • or a taste for pear jam if u saw one of the other vids LOL

  • idiot.

  • watch it man... there r a lot of pearl jam fans who r happy with anything these guys will do.

  • It seems a little bit like State of Love and Trust, at least it reminded me so, beacuse of the riff.

  • My second favorite song on the album besides "The Fixer". Saw them perform "The Fixer" live and I was sold.

  • I listened to this album before I saw them live, and kind of regretted it later, but I couldn't wait! But I think it would've been more fun if I had heard the songs live first, cuz I wouldn't really know what to expect.

  • @ExtremePanda007 Hey man, im seeing 'em in the summer, can you tell me what their setlist was that night? cheers.

  • Don't expect them to ever do a setlist the same as any other lol. I'm seeing them in Hyde Park in June...

  • Well., apparently it vaires a lot. Like, they had two shows here, and we went to the second one. In the first one they played a bunch of mellow songs, and in the second night, they played their more heavy stuff. But they didn't play a lot of their most popular song (e.g. Even Flow, Alive, etc...)

  • i really like that about a band! i hate it too on the other hand, it could be they won't play any (or much) of your favourites!

curious what they'll do at the festivals this year! hope they put a lot of good ones in there (like they have bad songs btw xD)

  • same

  • I don't get how could anybody not like this song. Really. I heard a lot of comments of people saying they loved every song from Backspacer EXCEPT Johnny Guitar.

In my opinion the problem is actually the title of the song, not a very fortunate one. As a matter of fact, many people already hated JG when Backspacer was still not available, just because Johnny Guitar was so unlikely to be the name of any Pearl Jam song.

To me is a great tune, fuckin catchy, and awesome as anything PJ does.

  • This song probably my favorite of the album. I learned about johnny guitar watson afterward and that made me love it more.

  • 1:03 ... chills .... What a band ....

  • i don't like gonna see my friend the most, but last night i was doing homework and listening to backspacer, & i fell in love with this song

  • amongst the waves and just breathe #1 and #2

  • Speed of sound is that song for me, i like every other one but that, still an awesome album though

  • I love this song... I can't stand listening to Just Breathe. I think it's the way Ed jumps his voice in the beginning of every line. Just isn't something I'm used to.

  • genIAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • How can you go tone deaf so fast? I thnk it may be intentional. You almost have to be trying to sing bad to be that bad.

  • best song on the new album in my opinion

  • my favourite on the new album. love it!

  • sounds good great guitar

  • 6:13 wow best part wow

  • Aún no termina de convencerme el nuevo album de Pearl =/

  • Muito bom!!! Volte para o Brasil Pearl Jam!!!!

  • Hey redwingchamp, judging by your comment, you probably suck something, but it's definetly not ass. Back to this song and band, they still rock and this song is one of the album's best.

  • starting at the 1:04 mark that is some good stuff.

  • cause all these4 years i've been hoping that she's coming just for me

  • good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 2:00 - 2:20 pure brilliancy.

  • ^ agreed

  • I love the gutiar effects in the middle and in the end and intro I love the sound of the guitar reminds me of old grunge.

  • great tune!!!his voice is also powerfull as ever.
